  1. I've heard the use of blue frames was something to sponsership by 'Pernod'......or am I wrongly assuming its anything to do with a drink as I used to like a stiff Pernod and black when I was a yoof ...this bottle of my favorite Caister Soul Weekender tipple isn't really in SWM colours ...although from memory before mixing Pernod is a pale yellow as it is in this photo (unless it's someones 'sample') and there is blue in the 'Paris' on the bottle...bit tenuous though

Hello Please apologise for my bad english! I once heard that top level 320 SWM riders lightened the weight of their magnetic wheel for 0.800 kilos. I just reduced mine for 0.450 kilos, and at first glimpse that gives to me a good feeling: I'm driving much more a trial bike than a tractor. But I'm wondering: must the ignition advance be modified? Thanks Nicolas

Hi all, I'm trying to find some parts for my bike and seem to be struggling with a few. I need: seat straps side panel screws clutch cover plastic bungs/screws front brake stay to suit Marzocchi forks a kickstart stop (which sounds a bit odd) It's a 1980 model with the plastic tank. Anybody any ideas on where to source these, please? None available from MotoSWM at the minute, it appears. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Neil

Hello, I'm in the middle of a Tl320 rebuild. Does anybody happen to have a copy of a manual for one? Preferably electronic but not essential. Cheers Steve

Hi, has anybody gone to the trouble of replacing the silent bloc swingarm bushes on an 81 TLNW320 with needle rollers or some other alternative ? I'm building a 'Bitsa' using a TL frame and swinger and just wondered if anybody might have done such and would be willing to share their experiences ? Thanks up front, Phil

  10. Can anyone help with a replacement front brake arm (Marzocchi front end) as mine has 'rounded off' the square edges and now has so much slack I can't operate the front brake without resulting to a 'workaround''? I may try and weld up and refinnish the arm but a replacement would be a quicker and more elegant solution. I wonder if Fantic arms fit, those fitted with Grimeca hubs? many thanks

  12. Ok this was present before my stripdown but it seems aliens have abducted it and are most likely probing it as I write....really frustrating oodles of bits in oodles of bags, all labeled up and you know tbe rest! It's the bearing which the brake pedal sits on and acts as the securing nut too having an internal thread. Martin doesn't have one so at the moment and this is a job stopper...if anyone can help both my SWM and myself will thank you.

I have had a little extra time lately and been finishing up some projects. I’ve had a 1980 SWM TL320 basket case for a few years now. The engine is done with all new bearings, seals and a lot of other new parts. I’m in the process of putting the engine back in and I’m having trouble getting the swingarm to fit. I did install new swingarm bushings. Any tricks or advice on getting it to fit? I didn’t work on it for too long today and I have to go into work tomorrow but should be back on it Thursday. I also have a new seat cover to install and could use some advice putting that on. What glue do you use and and tricks stretching on the seat base? Thanks

  14. Ran the bike around yesterday in my woods and its great, lovely super grunty engine that will plonk along at incredibly low revs. Brakes are good now they have bedded in and set up with help from this forum. She's rides tight, light and bright, quick steering but stable too, Starts first kick after priming her on the decompressor. She doesnt feel her 34 years old. Rear suspension is very stiff indeed though after my Beta REV3. She has Sammy Miller gas shocks on 50lb springs which may need changing to 40lb springs or less! Clutch is light but to erradicate all drag Ive no adjustment left on my cable....whats the form on setting up the clutch adjuster screw and should i…

I have just bought a TL320 '82 with Rotax engine. From a copy of a US maintenance manual I understand that there should be a kind of external stop for the kick starter to avoid damage to the left side engine (clutch-) cover. I can't see any such mechanism on my SWM. Could anyone please describe it for me - if possible with a picture too?

  18. After all the help you lot have provided, I thought you all deserve to see some photos of an SWM on its maiden voyage on the Slickrock trail near Moab, in the desert of southeastern Utah. I spent a long weekend there, riding the TL320 on Slickrock and Hell's Revenge trails. Slickrock is a single-track trail (bicycles and motocycles only) about 12 miles long, about ninety percent solid sandstone, and ten percent loose sand. It is a very fun place to play, and to practice riding obstacles. There is no real visible trail, so volunteers mark the rock surface with white lines every ten to thirty feet so you can stay on the trail. The white lines make for an interesting "sectio…

Hi all I have 2 TL320´s that are both leaking oil from the kickstart shaft / gear change shaft. They both have had the seals changed and the Oring for the gear lever changed. Sometimes they drip a lot from the gear change shaft and sometimes a bit from the kick start shaft. Other days they don´t leak at all. If the bikes lean away fromthe shat´s they usually stay dry (shame that the side stand is on this side). Any tips welcome !
