On 1 of my Gas Gas TXT Pro bikes the fan is wired so it runs all the time. I supposed that i should i wire it back so it kicks in according to the thermostat Having the fan running all the time is not best for the electric fan motor so what do you think?

I've got an 89 GG 327 aire that runs perfectly up to 70% or so rev but then starts to splutter almost as if it's still cold and warming up. No matter how hard I rev and try to clear it out it never really gets there. I've cleaned and cleaned the carb but to no avail. Any ideas people??

Bike starts and runs OK, usually second kick hot or cold but it does take a hell of a kick so much so that its almost impossible to do it without standing up on the bike and dropping your body weight down on to it, obviously this is a good technique anyway but it can be annoying when stalled mid section as I can't leave one foot on the floor and start it. Also the amount of force required seems like its too much, as in I'll end up damaging something one day, it makes a loud crack/snap sound when starting and sometimes makes a weird click sound which I don't think is right at all, happens pretty rarely but does do it. I have had a good look at the pawl gear etc when I had …

Hi all.. just brought a 06 which is really clean but has a fault... i know the gassers clutches all rattle and when you pull the lever it disappears... well on this one it doesnt... any ideas why??... it goes down by about half.... pull the lever and put it in gear and all is quiet and it pulls really well and all is quiet...... but... there just had to be one didnt there... if you come down a hill and back off the throttle with the clutch out there is only what i can describe as a loud noise that sounds just like the clutch but louder... put the power on at the bottom of the hill and all is quiet again... Help!!! does this one sound familiar to anyone or can so…

Hi all, I rode trials for a number of years as a kid, ending on the Intermediate route on my Gas Gas 125 (06 I think), and loved the bike, it did everything well and was an extremely well balanced machine, however you really needed to rev the a*** off it to get it over some stuff. My dad owned a 200 of the same year, and his was a little more powerful, however mine was more livelier and snappier, and I preferred it like that, and would like that again. Im now looking to get back into trials (after 3 years), and looking for a bike. Ive seen a fair few GG 300's that look really good for the money, however I'm extremely reluctant to get myself a 300, as I dont want to end u…

  13. Hey Everyone, I have a 2003 280 TXT that is having transmission issues. For the last couple rides it wouldn't shift down to 1st or 2nd, and in 4th it would "shift" into neutral on big drops. To put it back in gear I could either shift down (back in to 4th) or up (in to 5th). It would always hold 5th or 3rd. Last night the transmission starting dropping into neutral in any gear when going over even medium sized bumps, then would fall back into gear (with a clunk) when stopped. I have seen the eccentric adjustment video by Jim Snell, and may try that this morning, but I'm guessing there is a more serious problem. Is this information enough for someone to tel…

  16. Wow, what a difference. So different that i initialy lost my balance just slow turning. Need to retune my body movements to match the new characteristics. All the lively snatchyness is gone, it'll pull you forward on tick over without that "teetering on the edge of stalling" feeling. I hope this reduces the my nervous clutch covering affliction. It remains to be seen if it adversly affects that effortless front wheel lift for getting over logs etc. Glad i had a dremmel, rattle gun and loctites available during fitting though.

Hi Guys, just a quick question...... how do you make a Txt pro engine quieter? as I have seen two bikes now (mine a 03 txt pro 280) and (mates a 06 txt pro 300) both these bikes are loud as hell !!! is it because the bikes are old and the exhaust packing has worn out? would newer exhaust system be better? Cheers, Colin.

Just cleaned the carb as to my previous thread, there’s a 5mm hose connects from one side of the carb to the other? It was split and had an hole in it. I’ve replaced cleaned and put back togeather. Now when I start on choke? Everything fine but when I take it off and rev, it’s bogging like mad. All I’ve done is clean with brake cleaner and done the jets with a small thread off a wire brush. It never did this before so have I done anything wrong or is there anything to check? The mixture screws are set and have not been touched.

Hi Folks, Well the story goes like this, up at 7am have some porridge (need the strength) load the 2 bikes. Drive 15 minutes and meet my pal. Take the 2 bikes out, 1999 TXT270 and 2002 TXT280. Jump on my old 270 starts first kick!! Turn around and look at my pal who normally takes 3-4 kicks to start the 280 and he's bent over the bike. What's wrong now?? Seems that when he started the bike which happened to start first kick, it over revved uncontrollably. We started it again twice and the same thing happened. The engine kill switch did not seem to perform it's function as efficiently as I would have liked during this over revving. It took quite a while for the engine t…

My granddaughter has a 2004 TXT pro 125 which is flat as fart is there a solution ie jetting or Boyesen reeds to enable her to get more bottom end power, we have had the bike about 6 months and she has just started so its ideal to learn on! but would be nice to have a bit more instant power to get the front wheel up, I realise it might be a bit tired after 4 years.
