Hey, i joined the forum because i've just started stripping my txt 200 2001 engine and needed a few bits (gasket kit and mains bearings) but none of my pullers fit, i was wondering if anyone would happen to have one lying around that i could borrow for a week? Also if any one knows where the best place to buy a full gasket set and the mains bearings from that'd be great, because at the moment i've only found the one place called trials tribulations, is this the best place? Thanks, Tim.

How is everyone enjoying the new 2011 bikes. I have a new 2011 300 Pro Race model on the way. Super excited to get on the pegs! The last bike I had was a 2008 300Pro Standard. I loved that bike!! I can't imagine a bike working any better than it did. This will be my first Race model. Can't wait!! Has anyone ridden a Race model yet? Thanks

Having just modified my gear lever for a bit more clearance to the flywheel cover I thought I'd pass on a tip given to me by a welder in work. To straighten a bent lever or gear lever, it's advisable to aneal the metal before re-bending it as it may have work hardened a little. To assess to temperature whilst warming it up gently with a blow torch, rub the rear face of the metal with normal hand soap. When the soap turns black, stop heating and allow the part to cool down slowly. Worked for me!

Hello everyone, I have been reading for a few months and now I could do with a little help..... I have a Gasgas txt pro 280 2005. While out the other day the bike started to run rough and lost power then cut out :-( It was getting dark so I let it cool down then gave it a kick and it started and I managed to limp home :-) The next morning I went to take a look see and the gearbox is full of coolant :-( I think it could be the water pump seal but while I am okay with the tools I have never had a two stroke before and never done any work on them. I dropped the oil (and coolant) from the gearbox and took the water pump off, I have not stripped the water pump yet. Any …

right so I have a txt 280 a 06 model which i was out on one day and it cut out as if it ran out of petrol although it was full, so i checked and there was no spark. at this stage I am about to crack up i have checked everything and thought it was the cdi unit which i changed at ahuge cost only to find that i still had no spark. the only thing i can possibly think it might be is the thing on the flywheel which sends the signal for the spark, does anyone know if these thing can wear out or break or if they have to be a certain distance from the flywheel, cant find anything online about it. Head officially wrecked

Hi chaps I've just pulled the trigger on a lovely 2012 Gas Gas Pro Racing I'm collecting Wednesday v excited! I've raced motocross for quite a few years when I was younger then moved on to mountain bike trials and now race DH as well. Although I've ridden mtb trials for 12+ years I know very little about these bikes so I have a few very basic questions. If anyone could help me out that would be very much appreciated. Sorry if any of the questions are daft. I am pretty fastidious in maintenance and care for all my bikes and this will be no different - really want to treat the bike to the best. 1. What is the best oil I can get for the bike? I heard someone mention Ca…

Hi guys I think I've buggered up my rear brake. Having busted my hand in a big DH crash a few weeks back I've occupied my evenings working on the gasser however a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and all that. Completely new to all this so bear with me. My rear brake hasn't been very powerful since I bought the bike few months ago. I tried the getting it hot then putting water on it which worked a treat for a very short period giving a nice sharp confidence inspiring bite but then shortly after it went back to the way it was before. Ordered some Galfer pads which I hoped would do the trick. I took the rear wheel off, had a look at the caliper and it all looked p…

Hi all, First post to the forum although I have spent countless hours reading through here. I am currently riding a 2012 Gas Gas 280 Raga, all is well other than the rear brakes. The brakes initially work quite well but on a downhill the pedal will slowly drop lower and lower and will eventually bottom out and I will have to let off and take another stab at it. Is brake fade the right term, or should I be calling this something else? Any Ideas? I'm guessing that I probably need to rebuild the master cylinder? Thanks, Glayne
