Can anyone suggest a trustworthy/reliable powder coater to do my 199a frame in the original blue? Preferably in the east anglia/east midlands area. I've tried a few 'well known' ones and they can't do RAL 5015.

My M85 fork tubes are rusted a little where the taper meets the top fork clamp. Can grease or something similar be applied to the taper during reassembly to slow down the corrosion process? or would this make the forks move? Thanks!!

Hi, got her in bits and removed cylinder head to check bore etc. I noticed that I can rotate the piston in the barrel several degrees. every thing else looks clean, no score marks etc. Is the small end bearing shot or is it normal. I have tried to ease barrel away from cranks but I dont want to use to much force. Any advice gratefully accepted, Cheers, Myson

Hi All, After spending lots of time searching the web for info on the older Bultaco 2-strokes, I'm at a complete loss and need some help from anyone who knows about these bikes/motors. What I'm after is some basic cylinder porting information (e.g. inlet port duration, transfer duration, exhaust port duration) so that I can see how the 250 motors developed, specific to their applications (flat-track racing or trials). I managed to find Bell's tuning info regarding the Matador's 150 inlet, 126 transfer & 170 exhaust timing but that's all I've managed to find. Please note that I'm not looking to steal anyone's tuning methods/port timings, I just want to be able to …

Fairly simple question but are there two types of fixing the front pipe to the barrel on later 350s? The first one being the sleeve and spring type but is there also a pipe with a captive plate that holds the pipe on against a flanged end?

can anyone tell me what size ball bearings would fit the original steering head bearings of an M92? Building up from bits and want to reduce costs and re use the standard bearings for now, but the balls are missing. Also what mods are needed to accomodate tapered needle roller bearings? Cheers Hoodie

hello everyone,I will try to be clear (my english is not so good). I have a brand new pre jetted mikuni vm26,needle clip is in 2nd position, new ignition stator(wich comes from a 175 lobito,I believe they are the same but is it ok?) 2.4mm advance timing.new piston rings ( stock bore). The bike doesnt run fine and has no power in low rpm in the first 1/4 of throttle.(a bit like a motocross).idle seems to be good, bike starts good 2nd or 1st kick. I would like to know what are the measurements/size of the intake manifold for a 199 (cylinder side not carb side),and what could be the cause of a bad reving. Thanks a lot for your answer.

Hi All, I have hunted all over the forum but can't seem to find the info of specific topic I am looking for so i will ask here. I am trying to decide what would be the ideal size of mikuni VM carb for my M92? Any thoughts out there? Dave

I have some 1971 Alpina forks and notice that the fork caps are vented so that they will breath in and out as the forks work. I have never seen caps like this. Would it make the fork more progressive if they were sealed..with maybe a valve to relieve pressure? Would it then blow seals?

Here is my new (to me) bike. It is a 77 350 model 159. It is not pretty but it runs well and will be a good practice bike while I work on it to get it safe and reliable. Since I took this pic it has new fenders and throttle. I had to clean the mag and replace the points because of rust but it now has good spark. I am really enjoying it and am looking forward to doing some vintage trials next season. I hope the pic loads Sam

Hi there, Have finished stripping down the front end of the recently acquired Sherpa type 125 and, as suspected, have found that the triple clamp is bent - is the triple clamp assembly unique to each particular type / model of Sherpa or if I find one from another model will this fit (I ask, since there is a complete triple tree from a '68 Sherpa currently advertised on EBay!). If the assembly is unique to this particular model, can somebody point me in the right direction regarding where to start looking for a suitable replacement? Thanks again in anticipation for your assistance. Regards, Richard - Mexico City

I am the original owner and plan on getting it running again. Stock Gearing is 11T/39T. Does anybody know how many chain links were standard? I have 97 links using an offset link with two masterlinks. I don't know what was OEM. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Hi All. I have a 1972 Bultaco which has a fully rebuild engine with electronic ignition. But I can't get it to start as it should. If I use Easystart (or brake cleaner) it will fire up and run well. I can turn it off and it will restart 2-3hrs later first kick. But if I leave it overnight, it won't start. I'm using a new BP5ES plug with a 0.7mm gap as per the ignition instructions. What should I try now?
