Desperately seeking help to getting my 2013 Explorer 280i back up and running. BACKGROUND- while riding and slowly accelerating in 3rd gear bike abruptly losses power and stalls. Checked for spark- ok. Changed spark plug. Stlll no start. Disconnected fuel line and checked fuel flow-ok. So I know I had fuel and fuel pump pressure. So I had to get the bike towed out of the trail. CURRENT DIAGNOSIS- IGNITION- Strong spark visible. If I squirt some fuel into cylinder chamber and reinstall the spark plug, it fires up and runs strong until the fuel burns off so Im assuming the entire ignition circuit is working properly. FUEL PUMP- Pressure is 50 PSI static…

So my TR280i is losing coolant and it certainly seems to be going out the exhaust. Beside the fog out of the exhaust, it also smells of coolant. I started to pull things apart and when i removed the exhaust pipe there was a trace of coolant in the pipe. When i removed the cylinder head, the o-ring still seems good. Obviously i will be replacing them, but is there anything else i should be checking before I put it back together? Thanks for any tips.

Another Ossa MAR basket case project and daft question's but I'm guessing that hole is not meant to be there??? If so why drill a hole? Does it need to be welded or can I bung it ?? I've got 2 engine's 1 with broken con rod and this one which is almost there but with a hole in the crank case. Just my luck. Your thoughts appreciated ?

Hi I'm hoping someone can help me, just started to put my engine back together and have checked the end floats and they are all too big as when I took it apart it had no centre gasket. Can anyone help me with where to obtain new shims for the crank, layshaft, and selector drum? I have looked everywhere and all I can find is assortment boxes that are 10 and 15 thou thick and I could do with some less around 5 thou. Thanks, Mark

Can anyone tell me of the bore in the TR280i is Nikasil coated? In the parts book, there is 4 different piston kits: 6612020211--A 6612020211--B 6612020211--C 6612020211--D I presume these are over-size options which suggests to me the bore is not coated? I thought all modern bikes would be using the coating but the piston options have me doubting that.

  14. Hi, I'm looking for superior twinshock knowledge again. The front sprocket has a step (boss) on one side and flat on the other. Which way round should it go? I've tried looking along the chain line for an obvious visual effect but its really not clear. Also does anyone have any solutions for locking a 10 tooth sprocket nut as the tab washer is too big. Thank you.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the torque setting for the cylinder head nuts on my 1975/6 MAR. Also is the paint on the hubs satin or gloss black? And.....does anyone know if the rear shock decal (BETOR) is available anywhere? Many thanks in advance, Nigel.

I have just found out that where I thought I had a 250 MAR, it is in fact a 350. Last year I brought a new Minuki carb for the bike but spec'ed for a 250. What jets and setting should I change too?? i have noticed the bike has a low down flat spot , so hopefully this is the reason why?!

Curious about opinions regarding front sprockets sizes and how they effect the selection of gears. Stock, my MAR had a 12 on the front. I have ridden the 12 since I finished getting the bike going. I see that 10 tooth and 11 tooth are available. Today I removed the 12 and installed an 11. After riding around the yard a bit, the 11 certainly is capable of being very controlled at low idling speed in first gear. So with first being lower so is second, Second currently with the 11 feels about a bit taller than first with the 12. Does the 10 tooth make second gear about the same as first gear with the original 12 tooth? Curious what others run a…

  19. I noticed my clutch slipping a bit in the higher gears a few weeks back. I gave the lever more free play at the MC just to make sure it had some. It seemed to get better for some time (it was hardly slipping before). Today during practice I noticed it was slipping again, badly. After some time today the bike was pretty much unable to be ridden. I've not had a chance to tear it down yet but will soon. Anyway I am guessing this bike has less than 40 or 50 hours on it total time as it looked brand new (as in not a scratch on it anywhere) when I got it. I don't see how it's possible to have this clutch be gone so fast, is there anything I should look for when I ope…
