I have fitted a headlight to my OSSA MAR using the rubber straps, but it is very loose. I cannot see any way of tightening the straps. Am I missing something?

Hi, unlike Bultaco I can't find any books on Ossa's, I'm mainly looking for info on the Mar range, so if you know of anything (in or out of print) I would be greatful if you could let me know the title or ISBN number. Cheers in anticipation ! NB.

Hi there, can anyone tell me how and where to fit a kill switch on a 1968 Ossa Stiletto. The only wiring on the bike is from the magneto to the coil/regulator and from there to the plug cap.

Anyone seen any after market 2012 280i rear hubs ??? snapped a disk lug off today so need a new one and would prefer to get a bling coloured one rather than a std Ossa one. If anyone has any idea please post up. Cheers in advance.

Greetings After spending the better part of my day following my riding buddy's MAR, I politely asked if he could find an alternative to the obnoxious Skyway type silencer he is using. This thing sounds like an old RM 250 or worse. I'm guessing Skyway as it looks exactly like the ones we used back in the day. He has repacked it but it's still rather loud. It's not the pickle style that I've seen as stock issue. What's the hot ticket for these bikes? I have a small Super Trapp - 1 1/4" inlet that I thought about giving him, but I think that maybe a WES unit or something similar would look and work better. It's really important that we keep our bikes as qui…

Hey everybody, I've been searching for the right flywheel puller for a few days now. I need to pull the flywheel off of my 1972 Ossa 250 MAR. Im pretty sure that the thread is 26mm but i have no clue what the pitch is. Does anybody know where I can get a flywheel puller for this bike?

Need a new throttle assembly, anyone experiment with the Domino fast vs. slow on an OSSA MAR 250?

The previous owners did a good job of wiping out the exhaust threads on the side of the cylinder. One previous owner had rigged the exhaust ring to be held on with four small springs that also attach to the cylinder fins. The ring is held in place but since there isn't much left of the threads, it does leak some exhaust gas. How bad is this for running since most of what I will be doing is slow speed? Are there any short term fixes and what is the best long term fix? Thanks for any help on this. Jim

Hi All, I've just picked up a MK2 MAR to add to my stable. There are a couple of interesting features which it would be nice to know the history of. My intention is to trial it and maybe one day restore it. The previous owner has had it for 30 years and has not done any of the mods, its as it was when he acquired it in 84. The cylinder fins have been slotted to take a rubber strip, maybe to reduce noise or vibration. I've never seen this on a MAR before. Anyone seen this before? Other mods include: It has an alloy middle exhaust which looks like a modified aftermarket tailpipe, it has a Colin Appleyard sticker on it. AND...no tailpipe. The swingarm looks to be Mk2…

Right now to shift into first with the clutch lever pulled, it sort of snaps into gear. Here are my questions: I read where it says that I should have 1/16 inch of play at the clutch lever on the case. I have 1/8 inch. Should I adjust this down to 1/16 inch? If so, how do I keep the clutch from turning while I loosen the clutch adjusting nut. Also, how much play should I have at the clutch lever? If I have the correct play at the lever on the case, is this the play that I should have at the hand lever? Also, my idle might be a little high. So, is my current 1/8 inch OK and I just need to get the idle down? Thanks for any help on this.

  14. I'm restoring a TR77 from a box of bits and after cleaning up the crankcases I found cracks on both sides where the cylinder studs go in. Is this a common problem or have the studs been tightened up by a Gorilla with a 10 foot long wrench? Work to do :-(

Hi everybody, my queation for all you ossa experts is how much would you expect to pay for a 1981 250 Gripper. It is a runner but does require tidying up. Cheers HGGO.

Looking towards the winter, as the MAR has a bit of a false neutral thing going on: Who in the UK is the expert at engine teardown and re-build? Can deal with most of it but bit daunted by the shimming of gears etc as above. Thanks

Hello everyone, after 3-4 years of being reliable my 250 MAR yesterday developed a new noise. what happens is when the clutch lever is pulled in with the engine running there is a sort of knocking/graunching noise all the time, which disappears again when the clutch is released. will strip down next weekend to have a look for anything obvious broken/damaged , but would welcome any ideas on what is causing the noise . thanks in advance for any help. dave

Hi, hope someone can help me out!! I have a mk2 mar (75) and when I open the fuel tap the carb floods, i.e, fuel runs out of the float bowl. I take it that the gasket has perished but I can't find a supplier for a rebuild kit. Does anyone know of anywhere? Cheers in advance, Nigel.

Not knowing much at all about MAR's I wanted to show what this particular job entailed. I am certain that it may not be of any help to all, but maybe someone will benefit from this small task. As received said sprocket had 4 holes @ .404 & a bore to match wheel, that said I was wondering if in fact the later MAR's used shoulder bolts to attach said sprocket?? Anyway set up on mill & carefully bored to .591 (15mm locating lugs), alls well now. Thank you Larry
