Hi everybody, i am new to this site, but wondered if any body can help with my dilema, i have a ossa 250 mar which is running a standard bore, did a compression test this evening and got a reading of 77psi. Squirted some oil down the bore and then got a reading of 88 psi. Can anybody tell me what psi would indicate a healthy engine. Thanks HIGGO.

I have a faulty fuel pump on my ossa and need to remove and install new part. I believe this means taking the engine out, is it at all possible to change pump without taking engine out? Also I read somewhere that a special tool is required to remove the pump, if so where are these available from? Does anyone know if the ossa fuel pumps are used in any other make bikes

Hi all, just stripping down a 1972/3 MAR and was wondering if anyone could tell me the serial number for the bearings. I`ve found the number for the steering head bearings (30204) but can`t seem to find any for the wheels. Also are the hubs supposed to be black? The bike is 99% original and the spokes don`t appear to have any overspray. All the bikes I`ve seen have alloy/silver hubs but mine are black! Cheers in advance, basketcase.

The explorer is based on the trials bike and I made the conversion.... 4 screws for the sub frame, one in front of the tank and a hidden one under the seat, two cables, open the fuel line with snap closing and you can take away the Explorer kit. Trials plastics can be mounted on the normal fixing points, for better slow motion trials I prefeer changing the front sprocket from 11 to 10 teeth. A real dual purpose bike

Not restoring. Building a resto mod rider. Trying to keep the 73 theme though. In regards to the aluminum parts, I am not 100% certain on what parts get polished. The fenders /mudguards are plastic, so those will not be polished. Currently I have polished the front and rear rims, front and rear hub ignition side cover, lower fork legs. Next will be the brake backing plates, and clutch cover. These items I am not sure about if they need polishing or a brushed type finish. Triple Clamps? Clutch and front brake levers? Lever perches? Sheet metal aluminum chain mud guard? Skidplate? Rear Sprocket? …

Hi guys I am looking for information for my ossa 125 tr i 2014 Can you tell me if I can find sprockets to replace the broken one (visible in the photo). At first I thought the engine was broken and no it was a piece of the kickstarter broke inside the gearbox and this broke a tooth of the pinion I would be sad to have to throw the bike in the trash when everything else is working perfectly. Can we replace them with another brand? Gasgas Sherco.... THANKS

This may come as a surprise but as I`ve only ever worked on four stroke bikes I`m at a loss as to where the oil for the gearbox goes in my Ossa mar (1975). I drained the oil to the primary chain/clutch, which was bright red! There is a sump plug but when removed nothing came out!! There doesn`t seem to be a top up plug for anything!!!! Where does it go, what viscosity and how much oil do I need please. I did mention that there would be quite a few questions....but not that some of them would be so stupid!! Oh, and a pic of how my bike was after a couple of hours in my garage!!! It came as a runner but a bit rough around the edges. Cheers, Nigel.

I've made a new addition to my OSSA (2104 Explorer) The AAA Rechargeable batt (inside the factory Easystart) gave me some issues on a ride, so I hooked up LiPo battery and it worked great. But I didn't want to leave it in all the time, so I installed a KTM style start button. Wired it so the LiPo battery could apply power to the Diagnostics port. This runs the fuel pump for a moment and 'wakes up' the ECU. The bike starts first kick cold or hot. The LiPo battery is quite small. I'll get some pics etc. working on getting more connectors, but just used the 'dummy' plug with some appropriate pins. Mark

I don't now recall who was having some odd running issues, but thought I'd post this idea up for anyone now or future. My 2014 Explorer (same as trials with added subframe, tanks, seat etc) had an off-idle 'burble' a couple of times. At around 100 hours, then again around 200 hours. A TPS adjustment/reset solved those. Normally it runs nice and clean from idle all the way to max rpm. No burbling or richness. A few months ago it started again, and nothing seemed to solve it in the 'usual' areas. But I had never taken the main ECU connector apart. All the other connectors on the bike were well sealed and looked good, and the one time I tried it didn't…

Hi, just changed the clutch springs in my MAR for new ones and now the kickstart doesn't turn the engine, and there is a nasty spring recoil noise, seems to be return spring noise, have checked that there is plenty of free play in cable and that the new springs are tensioned up enough, any ideas, am going to refit original springs but seems like the rachet is no longer engaging. would rather not have to split cases. Thanks for any advise
