I have lots of tools, not always the newest or finest as seems one does to be practicle about these things or you could easily drive yourself into bankrupcy! However, taking the average trials bike as example, there seems one thing that a proper trialsman simply cannot do without for a bit of kit, and that is a proper set of metric allen wrenches! Yes I have a few, lets see, the standard individual set, the compact folding set that goes into the pocket of the camelbak, then the nice long set with the ball ends on the long side that stay in the portable toolbox. Suppose I could add the ones that fit screwdrivers and the ones that fit drive sockets, yet those are less used…

Has anyone here bought Hebo baggy trousers and how do they compare to the usual lycra trousers ?. I cannot find any reviews on these trousers and my old Hebo lycra ones are just about worn out. I am 70 years old and not a sprightly rock hopper. Thanks for any info good or bad.

only a week off it officially being summer here in queensland, australia, and it's a sweat-fest already. still very new to trials so keen to find a good balance between protective gear and staying cool. currently have a vented trials helmet, standard mx pants, trials boots then a typical dirt riding jersey over elbow guards. i can't think of any improvements short of jumping in a nearby creek every 30 mins if it's available?

  8. Started by scooterspal,

I'd like to set up a small paint ball tank to fill my tires while on the road. Would carry the kit in my back pack. I purchased an adapter sold on Ebay that will allow you to get from the fitting on these tanks to a standard 1/8 NPT female threaded hole. From there you can add a gauge, quick disconnect, etc. I have some questions and am hoping perhaps someone has done this already. These tanks can hold many hundred of PSI's but my garage compressor is only good for around 120psi. If I'm using, say a 20 oz tank, would filling it up until I reach 120 give me enough air to top off most trials tires? That is, bring them from around 4 to 6 psi up to 16 or 18 psi for street…

Does anyone know who stocks and sales 'Boot Buddy' in the UK or by mail order? I have seen a few guys with them and now want a pair. It looks like a elasticated cover that goes over the boot top and riding trousers to stop all the mud and crap going down your boots. The ones I've seen have been red with Boot Buddy UK * USA in white lettering. I asked the guys who had them and they got them at a show but need to know a supplier. Did try Goggling it but to no avail.. Any help much appriciated.

Hi Guys, I am looking at getting myself a new set of trousers and was wondering what people think of the Jitsie Bolt trousers, The main reason I ask is that I am not really wanting to pay £100+ for trousers and I have seen the 2011 Gas Gas Jitsie Bolt trousers at a reduced price with one of the retailers at £70. Thanks Adam

Someone has offered to pay £150 towards some boots for me for Christmas so anyone have anything good or bad to say about the boots below or any other choices? I'm happy adding another £50 so anything between £150-200 would be ideal. Hebo Tech EVO Hebo EKO EVO Gaerne Balance Classic Forma Boulder Or anything similar, currently leaning towards the Gaerne Balance Classic in Black. I did try adding links to all of the boots but apparently the Admin do not allow that?!

Morning All, I had a pretty shocking ride yesterday at the Eastern Experts trial at the wonderful Purl's Hill Wood on the Suffolk/ Essex border. We all have off days, and this was mine! I had a nasty off when I failed to crest the top of a big climb and clattered into a tree (I actually managed to paddle out and saved 2 marks, so that's the important thing...), this resulted in my full decelerating weight falling onto my left footpeg. I now have a hole in my shin that makes me feel sick if I even think about it, never mind look at it! This is the worst 'shark bite' I've ever had, but I do get peg marks from time to time. It's made me think that a decent shin protector …

I have been looking at ultrasonic jewellery cleaners on t' internet for around £30. I thought it might be handy for cleaning the carb and maybe other stuff too - certainly not jewellery. Has anyone found one with a basket big enough....the ones I've seen so far are about 40mm deep and I would imagine this isn't quite big enough. Just for reference - I was looking at the JPL7050 - other brands are available. Has anyone tried anything similar. I would think a 5 minute clean once a fortnight would keep everything totally spotless. Just a thought, and for £30 if its not up to the job you could always clean the wifes jewellery ! Regards, Andy

  20. Been at Corten Trials Park today and it was cold, frost on ground when we left home. It also rained on and off all day. I bought some black Wulfsport neoprene trials gloves and this was the first time I used them. Toasty warm hands and fingers all day, thin enough not to notice them. I really suffer from the cold although on the plus side I can sit out in 42c all day lounging around. I bought large as my hands are 10cm across the palm and they fit correctly. Excellent purchase for £18, wish I'd bought some years ago. Tried everywhere for grey but not around in large and Wulfsport are dropping the grey according to my supplier...?
