Hi All, I am looking for advice on the best way to lower the footrests on my 1977 Silver Engine Beamish. Is it possible to buy a bolt on kit,are do you need to cut and weld if so does anyone make brackets ready to weld onto the frame. Thanks in advance

What's the best oil for a 250 beamish? Is ATF ok?

Hi Can anyone help me with information about the exhaust system on my 1980 RL250? I'm trying to find out if the main box has any sound reducing material inside or is it just an empty box? I have cut open the rear box and found evidence of some sound deadening material, so I will clean it up and re-pack it and weld it up. Regards Phil

Hi, does anyone know where (in the UK ) I can get new headstock bearing races from for a silver engined 250, it had the dynotape frame number many moons ago but that fell off about 25 years ago. Can i use taper bearings ? and does anyone know the size ? cheers Dave

Hello all. I am having a machinist friend to manufacture some replacement bushings for the RL 250 Suzuki. I picked up a sample of a new stock item and plan to have a set made from those specs. We are planning on using bronze stock to make them. I don't know what the cost is going to be, but I thought I'd see if anyone else needed a set. This is the same guy that is going to make an aluminum swingarm for the same bike for me.

Can anyone tell me if spokes are available off the shelf to rebuild the front wheel for a beamish/rl ? or if not best place to get it done near Leeds in West Yorkshire, Thanks ps it,s for a conversion on my TY/Majesty 200 clone, I am putting a beamish front end on it.

I've been offered an old Suzuki rl 250 by a friend, it's been sitting in a barn for 17 years!!!!! yes it actually has been in a barn for that long!!! i don't want it as a serious competitive trialer just a bike that'll do it all if i want? It wants a resto really, but it runs fine it was started last week for the first time since it was parked up by the farmer.. i'm trying to find out what its worth? Have been really pleased with the Beamish since I got it 12 months ago but over the last few events it has starting giving me signs that things were not right, the main one being after the run between sections the tickover races but one it is left to cool down for 3 -4 mins its back to normal. I started to investigate today and noticed the following, any thoughts or comments are appreciated: 1) The exhaust was blowing from the front manifold when the bike first starts up from cold. This is not around the gasket/flange but actually where the u pipe pushes into the manifold flange. Their were no springs locking the u pipe to the flange or on the other end to the main expan…

After splitting the case to replace the crank seals, I have an extra washer! It's 17 X 33 X 1.5 mm. With a 17mm through hole, I assume it's off the transmission. In reference to fig 8 (Transmission) of the parts manual. The only washers on the parts list are Item 33 a thinner (1mm) washer and item 34 a conical washer are both present. I did not go past the bearing so missing item 16 is ruled out. I can see wear marks on the washer that would correspond to the small diameter portion of the conical washer. When things are installed per the parts manual illustration, there is no slop when installing the cir-clip on the end, and installation of this clip is not…

I was going to have a go at buying a 350 gripper, the kickstart is missing,. question is has anyone had any success in finding a gripper kickstart and from where? Hope It's not a bother, but could someone post a photo of their chain oiler adjustment screw? I've put in about 4 hours trying to make one that will seal up when tightened down. Does it have a tapered seat, or like a carb air screw? I've flushed it out and installed a screw just to keep water and dirt out for now. I know there are suppose to be no such thing as a stupid question so if I become a distraction let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hi All - I read on here that rear shocks should be 340mm on a Beamish - however i have found a decent second hand pair of 360mm betors, will this be detrimental to the handling? what are teh consequences of longer shocks? many thanks

Hello ! What about steering angles of MKII and MKIII frames ? I mainly would like to know if MKIII makes you feel front wheel "lighter" ? Though i lowered and moved backward footpegs, i find my MKII much less handy than my 175 TY... Thanks for sharing your opinions ! Jean-Pierre

What's good & bad about them and what goes wrong? Found a Silver engined model I'm interested in which is in Yellow and original, guess about 78, when they changed from Red/Black Heron Suzuki colours to Yellow It looks exactly the same mechanically and model wise to the Red/Black ones

Hi all. New to this site and a bit of a techno dummy so lets hope I can use the site okay. So I have an issue with my Suzuki Beamish RL. I have been advised the Beamish was made in two models. The RL250 and the RL325. Problem being my Suzuki Beamish has a period decal either side that looks original, that states it's an RL350. So, does anyone know if the beamish was made as a 350 please.
