Hi Dave, Your bike is indeed a Sachs engined Sprite so from around 1969 ish, 125cc and appears to be in remarkably good original condition. Welcome to Trials Central if you do a search you should find more Sprite info.

Jon what you say mirrors my own experience of classic trials.

I have a 1961 Greeves 24 TDS points ignition, Villiers carb, imperial bolts a genuine Pre 65 bike but ineligible for the Talmag Trial. How can that one event be considered representative of trials held in past days?

I have the Steve one Bondy so am not familiar with the type you have but I think Goudrons has the info you need. Steve does a really well made rear spindle which will not bend should you need one. How are you finding the OSSA TR77 Bondy.

Is the kit you have the Steve Sell Marlimar one?

Pleased you got your bike, pre 65 gets another rider and who knows one old bike seems to lead to another so a future buy could be a traditional four stroke.

TT Spud I too miss the variety of bikes and characters that were once seen more frequently in Pre 65 trials but do you not think that time itself has created the changes that are not all for the better in our chosen sport. Many who rode true classic bikes around here are no longer with us or simply too old to compete. At the last trial I rode one person who has always ridden a Royal Enfield Bullet trials appeared on a 200 Honda, another competitor who rides a 1951 Ariel 500 rigid said he also neede a smaller bike, both their ages each begins with a seven.

Another genuine request for advise on the Trials Central Pre 65 forum asked by a fellow trials rider ruined by stupid and pointless argument. Are you still there Stewart maybe now they have had their moment of glory you can receive the information you need?

I think the belt Andy means has a loop at each end, single strand in between and is black in colour, maybe 10mm diameter x 150mm long. Similar straps are sometimes fitted to cars to hold the jack in place, try Autohose Milton Stoke on Trent 01782-542486

Should the Cub clutch handle the loading from the 16t sprocket or are the thinner plares needed as well.

Before I go ahead and change my Triumph Tiger Cub from the standard 19t to a 16t crank sprocket will I also need to make any changes to the clutch. Looking at websites selling Tiger Cub trials parts I see there are thinner clutch plates available to enable 4 to be fitted instead of the normal 3, are these needed with the smaller sprocket to handle the increased torque.

Hi Stewart, I know two Drayton Bantam owners, one purchased a frame kit from Jim and built it himself the other bought a newly built bike from Jim which he specified must be Scottish Pre65 eligible so it all comes down to what parts are used in the build. Might be best to get some pictures of the forks and hubs if you are unsure which type they are I am sure either Jim Pickering or someone here on tc should be able to assist in identification of them.

Well said Hencam enjoy riding your bike in as many events as possible. As I see it one big problem here on trials central is that almost any posting in the pre 65 section brings on a torrent of negativity, personally I think this puts off many people from posting positive or helpful advise when it is asked for.

Looking good please keep us up to date. Have you added an extra tab under the top tube for the later type triangular 199b head steady? If possible please post photos of the handlebar clamp mod and the footrest carriers.
