Thanks I had assumed that there would have been a torque specified. Surprised that this was not pegged in the Sherco Engine Torque Values Quick Reference that is pegged at the top of the Sherco forum.

The thing about the weight of a trials bike is this. The closer the mass/weight is to the pivot point (where the tires actually touch the ground) the lighter it will feel and the easier it will be to manoeuvre. So, the lower the weight, the lighter it will feel and the higher the weight, the heavier it will feel.

Hi Mine is a 2014. The silencer box is divided into two sections. The rear section is accessed via removal of the plastic tail pipe. This exposes a perforated steel tube, which is wrapped in sound deadening material. This is only 50% of the silencer. The rest is sealed. Thanks

Hi Has anyone opened up the silencer on an ST (with the rear fuel tank) to replace the packing? I don't mean the end, where you unbolt the plastic tailpipe, but the middle, sealed bit. Thanks

Hi Flexible levers? To stop your levers snapping off, you need to adjust them so that when you pull in your front brake or clutch levers, the ball on the end of the lever is about 1.5 inches from the end of the handlebars. Another way of explaining it is to adjust the position of the brake and clutch levers on the handlebars, so that when you extend your index fingers, they only grab the very end of the lever, just behind the ball on the end of the lever. Or, adjust the position to allow for two fingers to grip the levers, rather than having room for all four fingers on the lever. So, you are moving the levers in towards the steering head.

I bought a 5L can of Comma semi synthetic AQ3 Dexron 3 Automatic Transmission Fluid last year for my Sherco 125. I change it (450cc) every 4th trial, with no practice sessions in between. The Comma ATF works well, but does anyone use a different brand that is better? Thanks

10w40 oil is too thick for a Sherco gearbox. Putoline GP10 is probably the best gearbox oil to use in a Sherco. However, I now use ATF fluid and that works nearly as well, but is a fraction of the cost. Also, look at the clutch thread that is pinned to the top of the Beta posts.

I have a Transit Connect short wheelbase, low roof, with a bulkhead fitted. My Evo fitted in crossways, corner to corner, as does my Sherco ST. If I fold down the passenger seat and open the bulkhead door, I can fit two bikes in. If buying second-hand be aware that at around 100,000 miles, the diesel engines will need new injectors.

Essential modifications for a Sherco ST with the fuel tank under the "seat". 1. The Sherco plastic downtube protector doesn't work. When the fork yokes hit the downtubes, the plastic frame protector jumps out of the way, allowing the yokes to hit the frame. This dents the tubing, compromising it's strength.. It has/will happen to yours!. Bin the useless Sherco protector and make a new pair from black plastic electric conduit. Go to Screwfix and buy a length of Tower conduit heavy guage 25mm x 2m length Black (46738). £1.50. Cut off two 3" lengths. Slit them longways. line with thin draught excluder foam, sticky side to conduit. They will clip on to your frame without sticking and will stay in place and protect your frame (and it's strength). Replace periodically. 2. Fit an in-line fuel filter.
