Real men needing power should try the Honda GL 1800 - could be good in the right hands.
Plenty of power. Amazing torque. A few mods and you might have a real man's trials bike.
Don't see too many at trials meets in my area.

If your crank seals are going, then you will be loosing oil from the gearbox. It would be very smokey. Measure your gearbox oil in and out. Crank seals don't require an engine rebuild.

How do you KNOW that this 2013 125 has only done 20 hours?
Most 125s are owned by kids who rev the guts out of them.

£30 too much? Try a Pound Shop or what about an Oxfam shop?

The plastic fuel line on my 2014 Sherco has gone hard and yesterday I discovered a pin hole in the wall of it - with no apparent reason for it happening. I assume that it is the ethanol in the fuel. Anyone know where I can buy some good fuel hose?
-
Very few trials rider's vans have any trials or motorcycle stickers on them - for one very good reason. Thieving toerags.
If you advertise the fact that you have a van with a trials bike in it, then one dark evening your van or your garage or shed will receive a visit from thieves, who will relieve you of your pride and joy.
Be warned. Don't bother with stickers on your van.

Change the oil in the gearbox of my two stroke Sherco ST every fourth trial. No practices in between, so it would be about every 12 hours. I use ATF.

Ossa did make a 125 trials bike. Not many in the UK though.

Winter mud is on it's way. Are IRC tyres still deflating when fitted to modern rear wheels?
-
Hang on. Before you do any of the above.
I am assuming that your Sherco is a yellow framed, "tank under the seat" model?
If so, then your problem may be the pump bypass loop, which is located under the rear mudguard. It is a black rubber pipe, which runs from the fuel pump, up the inner mudguard and loops up near the fuel tank filler cap before returning back down.
At this high point there are one or two fuel vents/breathers, which have a small screw to loosen, which vents air from the system. It may be that the screw or screws have vibrated loose, allowing fuel to escape, run down the vent pipe to the carb and appears to be the carb overflowing.
This happened to mine.
Just remove the rear mudguard to see if this is the problem. Check the hoses and their clips as well.
And fit one of these, to keep dirt out of your fuel tank:

Or. spotlessly clean the rim, then use a thick bead of Tiger Seal to seal the spokes.

Keihin carb on a 2014 125.

Hi
Sherco ST 125 carb air screw. How many turns out would be a typical setting?
Thanks
-
Thanks
I had assumed that there would have been a torque specified.
Surprised that this was not pegged in the Sherco Engine Torque Values Quick Reference that is pegged at the top of the Sherco forum.

Hi
2014 ST 125
Does anyone know what torque the two cylinder header pipe bolts should be torqued to?
Thanks
-
The thing about the weight of a trials bike is this. The closer the mass/weight is to the pivot point (where the tires actually touch the ground) the lighter it will feel and the easier it will be to manoeuvre. So, the lower the weight, the lighter it will feel and the higher the weight, the heavier it will feel.

Hi
Mine is a 2014.
The silencer box is divided into two sections. The rear section is accessed via removal of the plastic tail pipe. This exposes a perforated steel tube, which is wrapped in sound deadening material.
This is only 50% of the silencer. The rest is sealed.
Thanks
-
Hi
Has anyone opened up the silencer on an ST (with the rear fuel tank) to replace the packing? I don't mean the end, where you unbolt the plastic tailpipe, but the middle, sealed bit.
Thanks

Hi
Flexible levers?
To stop your levers snapping off, you need to adjust them so that when you pull in your front brake or clutch levers, the ball on the end of the lever is about 1.5 inches from the end of the handlebars.
Another way of explaining it is to adjust the position of the brake and clutch levers on the handlebars, so that when you extend your index fingers, they only grab the very end of the lever, just behind the ball on the end of the lever. Or, adjust the position to allow for two fingers to grip the levers, rather than having room for all four fingers on the lever.
So, you are moving the levers in towards the steering head.

I will try Carlube ATF then.
Thanks

You could try these:

I bought a 5L can of Comma semi synthetic AQ3 Dexron 3 Automatic Transmission Fluid last year for my Sherco 125. I change it (450cc) every 4th trial, with no practice sessions in between.
The Comma ATF works well, but does anyone use a different brand that is better?
Thanks

The Daily Mail, Sun or Daily Express comics are the place for this party "political" rubbish, not Trials Central.
-
How about some Chanel scent and just splash it over the tank?
