More weight, for no gain though Electric start is unnecessary on a trials bike

Apart from electric bikes, is there any more ways to develop the petrol bikes? We're at a minimum weight of some 65kg....................so apart from a bit of tweaking and titivation, is there any further strides in Trials bike development that can be achieved and is this it? Seems a bit stuck at present and bikes haven't moved forwards at all over the last 10 years Comparing old Britshocks to the Spanish armada in the 60's and then Spanish and Jap Twinshock advances in the 70's, then the arrival of the revolutionary TY250 mono in the 80's and watercooling and disc brakes of the 90's, follwed by the lightening and better frame/suspension geometry of the early 2000's, nowt much has altered since 2005 onwards, has it? Is that it??

I had 9/42 on previously and prefer 10/44 as the chain run seems smoother too, less snatchy 10/41 on when new was too fast for me

I use 10/44 and that makes 1st gear for tight sections usable and makes 2nd doable for open sections Bike is stock apart from that

Nothing to alter on the 4rt Just add fuel, change the oil and filters regularly and ride it Still on the original standard TBody and bike is 10 years old, next year After all - it's a Honda

If you use those front wheel chocks/stands previously mentioned then you only need to barely strap the forks at all, just a token effort The Stands are similar to the price of a set of fork seals Plus you can use them in the garage,box trailer or van Just saying

I use varifocals & have never thought about it either on my road bike at 100 mph or my trials bike in a section May explain why my trials riding is getting worse

Indeed in the 1970's & 80's we swore by the MT43 on front or back and in the south west in the muddier trials I used an Avon Mudplugger on the rear. Not bad on Dartmoor rocks either

After another great Trial last weekend - superbly organised last Saturday.... with even more official parking areas with toilets & catering @ popular sections Sensitive areas (with Dales National Park) were cordoned off and they had gone beyond the call of duty Hats off to Richmond MCC However I did notice the arrogance, insensitivity and disregard for what the organisers were trying to do by many 'so called spectators and/or enthusiasts' People were walking under tapes and into/across cordoned off & signed off areas People deliberately climbing over dry stone walls when there was an open gate 30 foot further along People on 'pit bikes' riding across open moorland with a number plate stuck on People on trials bikes with no obvious number plate on and not part of the team of official marshals (in fact I was overtaken on my trail bike by many trials bikes with no rear number plates) 4x4 drivers & dirt bikes up to 1/4 of a mile from the road on the open fell - illegally driving on moorland where no Right of Way exists - especially bad at ByPass I know the Police had a job to do, but can you really blame them when the law was being flouted by quite a few 'enthusiasts' who thought it ok to follow the Trial on public roads without insurance and/or licence & 4x4 owners who thought it ok to drive on open moorland up to half a mile from Tarmac which is another offence in itself Your actions are putting this 102 year old historic motorcycling gem in jeopardy, you selfish so&so's Let's hope people take heed for 2017 and think about their selfish actions ....... because it is people like you who making it harder for Richmond MCC to obtain planning permissions and landowner consents Park you vehicle in official car parks, get off your butts and start walking to sections The message is .....TREAD LIGHTLY

Well said At ByPass the lengths that some people had gone to get their 4x4 up to the section was frankly unbelievable, some 1/4 mile or more from the tarmac and really taking the mickey - worthy of a S59 for being illegally offroad Sadly inconsiderate action like this will lead to serious consequences for land usage at the Scott

Yep It's getting worse every year & needs sorting out Harder to do than say as the road is very narrow there

Great result for Dibs and Browny 2nd too What happened to DL? Police were out in force, checking everybody & quite a few trials bikes impounded so I heard, saw a Pinky and a few others on a transporter. Did make me wonder what was going on.... as it sped by ?

Mine was a Jan 1982, nickel frame Perhaps yours was nickel originally or maybe not - as the nickel finish was optional IIRC and at extra cost

October 1981, bike no. 7 made that month - A type.............. adult frame

Give us the frame number from the headstock, I think remember the code to decipher it

Looks like a Godden framed bike, maybe painted yellow Definitely an Adult 175 frame, the front downtubes are kinked back towards the barrel (Mini Majesty Youth Frames, had straight downtubes) Tank is right and even has the opaque rear plastic tank cup holder still, as is the oil pump cover and the majesty chainguard Looks right to me, you have a good one
