I'm talking Trials all rounder and not bike sport in general
However Doug has done ok in Enduros
-
Why not?
We are in a different age now, since 1990's
Back in Sammy's day we didn't have Indoor Trials which is a whole different type of Trials competition
I think he'd admit Doug was a Trials all rounder - a winner in every facet of the Trials discipline
-
At 40 years old, Dougie has just won his 10th SSDT title
Dougie just didn't 'win' it, by a narrow margin, he dominated the week and in the end won by 9 marks
Nobody else ended up dropping less than 20 marks, for the whole week and some 180 or more sections
To my mind (I might be biased) he the best all-round Trial rider, the sport has ever seen
He's had a long and illustrious career, with 12 indoor and outdoor World titles, plus British championships, Scott Trial wins and of course SSDT wins and Trial des Nations team wins
As an all rounder, I think he is the best of the best - the most 'complete' rider in the sport to date
-
Michael Brown moves into top spot on day 3
Nice to see him and GasGas back on form after all their recent traumas
Sections looked tough yesterday
-
This one, apparently there's a Sherco down under there
-
Day 2 and Doug has regained a slim lead over Michael Brown
Good to see Michael Brown at the top of the tree again
-
-
-
Guy will probably just put it behind him and crack on with going fast again
-
-
Or cut to the chase and leapfrog the rest and buy a TRS
-

Sad day
RIP big man
My schoolboy hero
Thoughts with Doug, Harry and Mart's wife Isobel and all the Lampkin family
I shall raise a glass tonight, to all you have given us in the sport of Trials
-
Which Mitani one - there seems to be a few & how many euro's
-
Indeed - he was a well respected man who was able to deliver his vast knowledge in a very down to earth way with honesty and integrity and above all, impartiality - RIP 'Munch'

Tracing paper & pencil will do
Tape the tracing paper to the frame part with masking tape & shade away
Blue Peter tip

Blimey in 1976, a TY175 was about £600 brand new and wages were a lot lower
In 2016 a new Trials bike is about £5000, average wage is about £24k and you reckon £20 to enter a Trial is too dear
You need to get out more.................... you really, really do
I was at a Richmond Trial, 2 weeks ago................you couldn't move for competitors or Vans, all ages from 6/7 year olds up to 70+ olds
No shortage of entry numbers whatsoever, all happy to pay £15 for 4 hours of fun and banter, must have been 100+ riders
Have you been to the cinema lately........... £10 per person gets you nowhere?
-
Me too, I was only speaking to him on Monday and was going to order some bits tomorrow
RIP Mick

Can't see a point
Short length of hose, tucked into left frame rail with the other cables
When you refill I tuck the hose between the bars & clutch line to grip the cap, takes all of 5 seconds
Only bling
-
Trials pants, zipped pocket
-
They have, closed after 40 years of trading at the shop
But will still be doing online stuff, via their ebay shop as you say
-
I do, Honda being a massive Corp and producing the most motorcycles of any manufacturer, has to comply with the regs in EEC (Rest of World, ABS isn't mandatory)
Keeping the Montesa name, not only for nostalagia and marketing - allows them a niche, I guess
Another example is the old aircooled Suzuki DR350 engine, last sold by Suzuki in 1999/2000 and won't meet world wide emission regs nowadays
But you can still buy the same DR350 Suzuki engine and airbox/carb set up, brand new from Beta in 2016, sold as the Beta Alp4 trailbike
Beta don't have to meet the same regs, as they are a low volume manufacturer

I stand corrected
Eu votes for abs & rest of world doesn't & you can have a choice
I'm not keen on abs either and not one of my bikes (road/trail/trial) has it or traction control
The eu are trying to make it fail safe, which riding a motorbike will never be
