  1. I've always wanted to do that - roll into a VW Van Centre with a couple of Trials bikes and see the Salesman's face
  2. Catch the pigeon
  3. I bought one and now find it hard to find the pedal, even with size 11 boots it's a job to get good purchase on it

Maybe not, but the 4RT is light years better, in terms of chassis/suspension and motor/brakes than the Godden Majesty or trick TLR I also had a few years ago I'd never go back to the Fantics/Seeley Hondas or Majesty Yams I rode in the 1980's, over a Beta Evo or 4RT from the 21st Century

No prejudices, my friend No need for the verbal assault, please I have had Twinshocks, plenty of them, - but they can't hold a light to any modern bike, face facts Maybe it's your prejudices, my friend and not mine - have many modern bikes have you ridden? Give a young 18 year old a choice, between a 250 Beta Evo and a Beamish/Bultaco 250 - side by side and I bet he'd pick the Evo
  6. johnnyboxer replied to telecat's topic in Gas Gas
Rose-tinted specs maybe, because an old Twinshock is old hat and won't attract young'uns They want a good bike to hop and jump on, not a heavy, poorly suspended and underbraked old shonker As older riders drops out, because they get too old, where's the young'uns gonna come from?
  7. Not a bad price, must look into it
  8. Sounds great, how much is a day out there?
  9. You could include it as part of a family holiday though
  10. I'm usually the other way, crap in practice unless I plot a section with flags At a trial I'm better as I know what to & where to go
  11. Wife's hair spray
  12. Good advert.... THIS IS A TRUE BARN FIND... IT MUST BE THE BEST AND EASIEST MONEY MAKING PROJECTS IN THE COUNTRY! HARD TO FIND IN THIS VERY LEVEL ORIGINAL CONDITION.. AND ITS ROAD REGD WITH THE V5... NOTE! THIS BIKE NEEDS A RE-BUILD, THE MAINS IN THE MOTOR NEED TO BE DONE BEFORE USE BUT WHILST THATS OUT IT MAY AS WELL ALL BE DONE OFFERS CONSIDERED WITH FUNDS EITHER WAY CONSIDERED TRY US THIS IS A PROPER RARE BIKE FORGET YOUR ISA, BOND, OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL THEM? INVEST IN A CLASSIC THESE ARE NOW HOLDING AND GAINING IN VALUE EVERY DAY UNLIKE YOUR FUNDS IN THE BANK AND YOU GET GET TO TINKER AWAY WITH IT CLASSIC BIKES ARE A PROPER INVESTMENT THEY DO NOT LOSE MONEY ONLY GAIN IN VALUE
  13. Got a link?
  14. Frankly I don't think you'll have any supporters for that point of view, not really burying your head in the sand....................more collectively sticking together as motorcyclists who ride dirt bikes
  15. Only if people have a desire to buy them
  16. Anybody got any recommendations? As the years go by and getting older, I seem to pick up more injuries to my shins etc and this results in some pretty sever bruising/lumps at times So, I'm looking for some knee/shin protection and not too intrusive I know protection isn't generally worn by Trials riders, but those of you that do................point me in the right direction
  17. That's true, it's a funny old motor, I was out in the dry mainly - but on some damp clay banks it wouldn't go anywhere
  18. Aye, you weren't hanging around at the Scott, either
  19. Link http://www.jotagasuk.com/
  20. Pity this has dripped out, when the question was pointedly askedI think it poses more questions and should have been announced in the Press That way existing & potential JTG clients would know, rather than hearsay I think the OP has had a lucky escape & now can take his hard earned elsewhere to buy another brand Looks like Sherco/Beta & Montesa/Honda will continue to grow, in this limited marketplace Let's see what happens ?
  21. Wow That's a bit of an eyeopener It's a bit like the UK bike shows - NEC, say £20 now Intermot in Germany (6x the size) ~ less than 10e
  22. Why though? It's not in our interest, as Trials riders Who is to say any 'damage' isn't caused by the CLA member's tractor Any curtailment of legitimate motorcycle use and sport in the countryside, would hit us all hard It's difficult enough to persuade farmers to allow us onto their land, for Trials etc...............with Natural England breathing down their necks and DEFRA threatening to withold subsidy payments, if motorsport is allowed on their land Think about it, for a minute Trailriding, first and once that's forced off green lanes - then for sure, by God - Trials/Enduro and MotoX will be next CLA and GLEAM want NO MOTORSPORT or off road leisure vehicle use in the great British countryside..................mark my words
