Clubs Near Me
Laird387, I don't think the Arbuthnot that runs on the road in September is suitable for a lad on a TY80 or even a mid 80's TY250! Oh, Yes, I do know about road trials if it was back in the day or last week, I still ride most of the UK based road trials on modern and classic bikes but defiantly not on a TY80.

I think you missing the question in the post. "Want to ride trials with my son" with a TY250, I don't think a road trial suitable for a 1950 AJS is what's required!

Trials Bike Insurance?
http://www.msminsurance.co.uk/personal-insurance/motor/motorcycle-trials-enduro/trials-enduro-quote Looks like all the mainstream insurance companies have dropped trials bikes. You can't even find the models listed on sites like Go Compare anymore. I still have 2 bikes, A Gasser & a Twinshock with Bennetts on auto renewal but they won't add another. MSM is the only one i can find for road insurance but that's fine as don't need the extra £10.00 per road event. Tiss a lot more expensive though!

Road Registering 2012 Jota Gas - Just About To Give Up!
Also, if you read my pinned registration guide on the forum, (It's next to your post) it says about type approval http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/54839-road-registering-guide/. Note. On Type Approval put "Exempt Trials Motorcycle". If the bike was imported by Steve then he will have the NOVA reference number to prove that duty was paid. Think your find that's all you need. See link for full details. Let us know how you get on..

What Oil Ratio? (I Know, Not Again Right?)
What oil are you using?
-
What Oil Ratio? (I Know, Not Again Right?)
You need to mix it at 65:1, that is 75ml of oil to 5 litres of fuel, no more, no less.... Any good quality 2T is fine but do not use Silkolene...... That's what Gasgas UK said and i have been using.......

Be much cheaper if it was road registered but these 2 do an off road fire & theft. https://www.bikesure.co.uk/enduro-insurance.php?gclid=CIOqgOWI-cQCFcHLtAodZHUA5A & http://www.carolenash.com/motorbike-insurance/off-road
