Correct One nou ? , i'm still running my Fantic (240-300-303-305) air cooled at 80:1 , now with Nils Duo Synt S 100% sint. without problems with pistons, cylinder wall or other.
Very important correct jet, and needle. Poor carburtion is very dangerous.
But i ride only in trial sections (zona) where the engine run always at low rpm, sure i if ride my bike in mountain with long climb and hot temperature i put more oil in the mix, but always less than 50:1 with sint oil.

needle x5 but i suggest you 1 st notch
-
i think you can put in your bike, it's an high protection gear oil, i have used in Fantic section the Motul HD 80/90 high viscosity oil (for hypoid) and it was the only oil that allow us to run without slepper cluthc problems. Yes high viscosity oil have a problem sometime in trial gearbox, the disc do not detached as well as a low viscosity oil, expecially at low temperature
sorry for my english ?

yes it's the first 349, the second 349 red had a lower seat, then arrive the white 349
the red 349 had some problems (broken frame and gear box) and heavy to ride
in classic trial race you never see a 349 (at least in Italy)
-
correct, with syntethic oil

in the 1984 Fantic recomended 2% (50:1) with Esso 2t sport motor oil (mineral) or Esso AQUAGLIDE
this info came from the original italian owners manual 1984

I ride my old Fantics at 80:1 in trial classic competition with sint oil, sure 50:1 with sint oil is ready for a motocross bike, if you ride your bike for trial (always low rpm) you don't need a lot of oil in mix, if you ride your engine quite fast (enduro style) you need more oil
more oil mean more deposit on ring (sometime blocked) exaust and silencer so i think it's very important know how you ride your engine
which type and brand of oil you can find in your country ?
-
for me 11/42 so 2nd gear is quite short enought, but the problem of the 240 is that first gear is slow and 2nd gear is fast
this is for me that i ride the 240 only in classic competition
-
i suggest you to check the frame (front) always broke, and keep attention to the gearbox, sometime in neutral ( when the engine run) it start .... without touch the lever
-
unluckly there isn't Fantic 200
about mix i suggest a sint oil at 70/80:1
-
the number you see are for the Fantic 200 Fm350 Minarelli engine 1979
305 it's another story, see the power and the different balance of the weight, feel very light on the rear wheel
-
the 300 was a mistake, Fantic need a new bike but the designer of the 240 was old and he retired, so the 300 born in run, after a few months they just tried 301 prototype

i think the cota 123/200 has only 1 gear box oil, so go to 10w30 or 10w40 or atf
cota 348/349 has two different type of oil, separate: 80/90 in gearbox and 10/30 in clutch
-
-
we raced with the Cota 123 for two year in the 1982-1983 (italian national junior championship) at 60:1 with sinthetic oil (Bel Ray MC1) and after 6 month of race, our trial mechanic check the engine and discover that there wasn't any particular problem (piston tollerance and connecting rod) but a lot of deposit on piston and rings, so he told us to reduce the oil into the premix at 80:1, then we raced all the rest of the time at 80:1 with racing sinthetic oil.
sorry for my orrible english
