  1. I have a manual for a 2002 315R scanned and converted to pdf files on CD. Simply print off the pages you want each time you do a job in the garage and then throw them away, simple. I was selling these on ebay a while back and have a few left so if you want one send me a pm (private message) and I'll send you some details. Best clutch I ever fitted to a 315R was from the Honda CR250, bit pricey at the time but fantastic, never dragged again or made that awful graunching sound when slipped at high revs in high gears.
  2. There is no "best" gearing set up per say, it's about finding the set up which suits your style of riding best. It's more about understanding WHY you want to play about with the gearing rather than just copy someone elses set up, unless you know that works well for you of course, because you've tried it. Best benchmark to work from is the standard set up !! HTH.
  3. Pretty certain that entries closed on the 18th of March.
  4. ....and there was me thinking it had been postponed Well done on the correct spelling of your name though !!
  5. Whether it be taking afternoon tea together, or visiting the ballet, Emily and Florence are just two ladies going about their ladylike business, like any other normal ladies. They certainly do not have time to play around on frightful motorcycles as that would be far to un-ladylike. Sorry Isle of Wight, but we are Laaaadieees !!!!
  6. I wouldn't mind doing this, it sounds superb. Is there any road work or is it all off road ? Who is the contact for a set of regs ??
  7. Superb !! couple of real ouch moments and some good skills, but excellent stuff. Thanks for sharing
  8. Just had this reply from our man .... hi there, sorry but the airbox is missing. It runs a k&n type filter.I'm not sure whether it should have a fan or not but the bike has always ran ok.Cheers Gav
  9. That really is nice Steve - like the back to metal s/arm and the Mick Andrews tailpipe. I see the shelves in your garage are sagging under the weight of all the cleaning and polishing products !! The Foster Cup was much under subscribed, I think about 38 in total but a fantastic trial with really superb natural sections and a good ride round. Hope your knee is on the mend, are you around for the Lomax?
  10. Hiya Steve Bumped into your Dad and Bro at the weekend at the Foster Cup - he was telling me about this immaculate Ty250 Pinky you've got - fancy sticking some pictures up for us all to have a look at ?? Sorry this is a bit off topic, should have pm'd you really I suppose, still there you go! Woody
  11. I use a Garmin Streetpilot so those file formats wouldn't work for me, but despite that I think it is a jolly good idea.
  12. When you're in the shop buying the carbon jets could you get me two litres of Tartan paint, preferably Dulux and also a long weight, metric or imperial will do. Many thanks.
  13. Interesting thoughts bikespace. I rode the same trial having made the 250 mile round trip from Nottingham to meet up with some old mates I've ridden with many times over the years. You eluded to the fact that most of the work is done by two people, which it is (stand up Russell Dorricott and Dave Lovell), with possibly no more than two or three other helpers on the day. These two guys would have spent the previous Saturday spying out the sections, the Saturday prior to the event setting the sections up (four routes per section)and then checking everything was still in place on the Sunday which this time round included modifying one or two routes to take the frozen ground into account. Dave & Russ then sat in the cold for the thick end of two hours signing everyone in and sorting the entries before riding the event themselves and clearing all the sections up in pitch darkness. So where are all the helpers ???? - mostly can't be bothered and will continue so to be until somebody else stops doing all the work and the trials stop. Some of the "blame" has to rest with the guys who run the club, it's not great leadership if you can't get anyone to do the work and end up having to do it all yourself. But ultimately, the riders are like kids who's parents do absolutely everything for them - there is little or no incentive for them to put in any effort.

    Gas Gas

That'll be seam, leaking, heat and silly then.
  15. Do you cut it in half and count the rings
  16. I know for a fact my greenies are slippery !!!
  17. You yanks may well have big grippy rocks but we have big slippery ones, in fact I reckon our medium sized ones, that
  18. Ride on your balls but fall on your a*** - a simple formula but one well worth remembering.
  19. I think that Trials Central is a fantastic place for fellow trials enthusiasts to share their knowledge and enjoy light hearted banter, but..... ... I really do despair at the appalling level of spelling in many of the forum posts. Is spelling not on the curriculum these days at school?? Yours Victor Meldrew !!!
  20. I think you will find this is exactly how 99.99% of trail bike riders have behaved in the past (i know myself and my mates did and all other TRF members act the same) and look where this has got trail riding, bunched in with nobs on mx bikes, paris dakar wanabee land rover drivers with 35" mud tyres, unfortunatly in this country it isnt the majority which matter its a few ramblers with mates in high places that get things done!! grrr rant over thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a fair point but I reckon as a trials riding community the vast majority of us, and that includes me, mumble about these problems on our insular self contained forums and never get off our backsides to collectively do anything really constructive about it in the same co-ordinated and coherant way that the Ramblers Association (or whoever they are) do.
  21. Steady on Stu, I think that's a bit harsh. Not defending these guys or condoning their actions for one moment but I think the general public will always have the intelligence to recognise and understand that the minority often ruin things for the majority. We have to make sure as responsible riders that we are always polite, courteous and careful when we mix with walkers and horse riders when we come across them in a trial - slow right down, even stop and maybe switch off the engine. I always try and get eye contact and smile, it doesn't do (us) any harm.
  22. Had a similar(ish) problem with my Montesa 315R in very cold weather. It was ok on tickover but ran very lean and had all the symptons of just about to run out of fuel. Turned out to be the carb. freezing up, there was ice on the throttle slide. Like you I had towed my bike to the venue through very cold and damp weather and I think this bought a small amount of moisture into the carb. which then froze up. Squirted some carb. cleaner in through the air intake and this seemed to cure the problem. Failing that I hear the weather in Oz is very nice this time of year !!
  23. Mattylad, as long as you've got some muddy kit as evidence by the end of Easter you could go anywhere and do anything !!
