Back to the black frame issue:
Is it not a weight saving feature?
I am sure there is a small weight saving to be had by not chroming the frame on a bike especially a on a modern trials bike like a Gassser or a Sherco (the two companies that seem to be obsessed with weight ).
While I am very interested in this question I am not interested enough to grind off the plating on my Sherco to come up with some hard facts and figures!
Anyone?

That photo backs up my suspicions about observers:
If you look closely at the picture you can see:
1)That he has gone to great lengths to disguise his horns with a cap.
2)His cloven hooves are covered with a pair of trainers.
3)His pitchfork is obviously out of shot (being heated in a camp fire).
4)You can clearly see his tail which confirms my theory.
You have been warned!

What!!??
That's it I give up......In Japan even their Teletubbies can ride better than me!
I'll get me coat!

Every point you make is totally valid Rob.
The riding skills and locations are fantastic but the urban yob scenes ( no wonder they had to film it in the dark)do our sport no favours.

I am sorry I didn't get to see 'Brokeback Mountain' can someone explain the plot to me please

6 weeks if its your floating (smallest/lowest) rib.
Done mine at Taekwondo some years ago.. so sore I couldn't lift my right leg to kick my bike over..but back in the (non-existent)saddle after 6 boring weeks.

Pedronicman--the Marlintech page answers your questions about the inlet diameter and the cable, you just have to pick the bones out of the Spanglish text

'Ilovetrials' Did you keep the reed block spacer and did you keep the 05 (mellow)exhaust?
All replies welcome

It looks like your fluid level might be too low as described in the previous reply.
My mate has an 04 280 with the same (marzochi?) forks and they are absolutely perfect..the best in the business...they work very well with his 11 stone and very well with my 15 stone.
Since you have an 05 I would imagine that they couldn't possibly need springs just yet--- check that oil situation.

This would be a good time for someone to post a pic of Doogie with his 'war face' on

Have you tried the butane gas trick around the cylinder/crankcase to see if the idle improves (which confirms there is a leak)?
-
The no. refers to the flow rate of fuel.
Here's a simpletons (my)way of remembering:
i.e the no. is how many drops of fuel pass through....so...
68 drops of fuel is always going to be richer than 66 drops of fuel!!
See, it's not rocket science..well it is..venturis and all that!!..I'll get me coat

What... Hair you mean?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
That's me knackered then!

Straighten a wire coat hanger-- you should then snip it in half.
Bend one end (top)back in a small loop (just in case you land on it!).
Cut 2 inches of red or blue duct tape and fold it around the top of the shaft..et voila....
...a mini flag good enough for practice and small enough to fit in a large bum bag.
Not perfect but the small size makes you look up for the next flag.. if you catch my drift

Get on the phone ( there's a reason the fluid drained off in the first place)and tell Pa he's got 2 oil jobs now-drain the clutch master/slave and the gearbox.

Yup! I remember being devastated when I realized that the bike I had (it looked the same as the ones I had seen in the indoor trials)didn't balance by itself or fly up steps gracefully!
I put the bike into storage after only three outings.. I thought 'what have I bought?'
Trials riding looks so easy but as we all know it isn't---I love giving my road- bike-mates a go on my Sherco after they have been taking the ****--I always seem to get a new rear mudguard out of it!

Is this the legendary-Papa Zit?
-
Why did you start
I had been away from biking for 10 yrs then went away on holiday and hired a traillie.. that was it..time for another bike.
Got home and weighed up the options:
Field bike/crosser= no-where to practice / too noisy /been there ,done that.
Road bike = way too dangerous ( mates and relatives dropping like flies).
Trials bike..hmmm.. saw indoor on Top Gear (Steve Berry?)so I thought that looks easy(dreamer),I'll have a go at that.
Why do you continue to ride?
It's F-U-N,keeps you fit,challenges you,good socialising,excellent pressure relief valve from the mortgage/work tread-mill.
For me it is one of those sports/hobbies where you get out of it what you put into it.
I never truly understood that phrase until I took up trials.
what would get more people riding trials?
Nothing I hope..section queues are quite big enough thank you !

2006 April-??? Is it terminal... this noise?
Whats the latest situation report Andy?
I have an interest in your problem as I have the same type of bike.
I am imagining noises each time I read your post.

Nowt you cheat!
Breeze block walls, no bath side panel and no water in the bath = old bath in the garage
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Busted!!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Doesn't everyone bathe in the garage?
Yes ,you spotted the props there fellas!
Actually I bet my mates that one day I could find a valid reason to post a pic of me naked on TrialsCentral.
My work here is done !!

Cheers Kev,
What I meant was a 'how to ride' tutorial but I have downloaded your photo tutorial to digest later.
It looks very professional but I don't think I'll be the one using it to instruct other riders.
I am the one who needs the lessons.
Thanks again,
Wayne

Found it..from a previous query:
My mates have had a lot of 315s over the years and I recall the 99 was very pokey compared to the 98,2000,2001,2002.
It may have been that the previous owner had tweaked it in some way , I just don't know!
My personal favourite was my second hand 98 :
Excellent for learning on(dropping) , gripped like a limpet and required very little maintenance.
I dropped it on rocks..logs..steps..me..it fell off the bike rack at speed..I fell in a river with it (fully submerged and engine running), field stripped it and carried on riding.
I sold the bike (at a
