why do you want thicker grips ? does it reduce arm pump or something? i get it terrible, i think its cos i got massive hands.

well you alwyas got to speak as you find. maybe im just lucky i have a bike shop in driving distance that is very reasonable on prices.

i got a 280 for my first trials. i wasnt happy about it but there weren't any bikes for sale in south wales at the time. and i wasnt gonna travel miles just to buy a bike. my opinion? yes a 280 is a bit of a handful. once its up in the rev range and you start losing control, there is no stopping it, it puts you on your a***. i got no intention of keeping it, never have, not even when i bought it. its a 2006 that i bought to learn on. once i got the basics nailed, im going to chop it in for a MY 10/11

since i posted this thread ive learnt to only buy from your local bike shop. things are NOT always cheaper online. i could give you loads of examples with the stuff ive bought the last few weeks. but im not going to, as its too much typing, and i cant be bothered.

007 and enrico, if the beta 200 is such a good bike, how come you aint riding one? jus' sayin. there are a couple of those 200's on ebay too if he OP is interested in one. one of them in particular looks very nice indeed too, but you wont get a 200 for on or less than his £1000 budget that he says in his first post

dont think ive ever seen a Gas Gas exhaust not touching the tyre. sounds like the back brake needs bleeding

no we have channel lock pliers here. they are either marked channel lock or blue point. the only different is the colour of the handles.

as above. make sure there is free play in the brake pedal. i had no end of trouble with mine (bleeding) until i found it was out of adjustment after a major strip to nearly bare frame

seen a red car towing two trials bikes on a trailer going up the valley about dinner time? one was a Gas Gas, looked 2005 ish. probably going up the mountains for a ride? also seen a juvenile delinquent about 2 hours later on a shagged out old beta maybe 2001 ish come from the cycle trak out onto the road and squeel off down towards bryncethin
