  1. Dave Burroughs summed it up on tonight's Ross Noble show. It's about the challenge. If it's not about the challenge you are in the wrong sport. Not everyone has to do the six days but we went wrong by trying to make trials appeal to people who are basically not trials riders. If it doesn't appeal to today's young people then stop pretending it ever will.
  2. If you get the chance stand next to Dougie, that's the end of the theory I'm afraid
  3. And it's not cheap !
  4. Yes they are and that event is exactly the opposite of what some people on this thread claim is required. It's not multi route, it's on the road, its certainly not very near many peoples houses and it's single lap with significant mileage between sections. And nobody is afraid of losing 10 marks
  5. Dsb trial. It's important to use the right letters in the right order ?
  6. Tick tock it's getting close to 1st December
  7. Jitsie knee protecters under tracksuit pants if you don't want to wear modern gear.
  8. @nigel dabster you remind me of my dad when I told him Santa wasn't real...

@sting32 well as an owner I'm baffled by the list of changes as well. I can't tell you what's wrong with the current kickstart mechanism or any bearing within the motor as it's all worked exactly as it should. Not sure what problem they are trying to fix?
  10. With hindsight why did they make the 300 so heavy ?
  11. The TRS is very similar to a gas gas to ride. I think it has a little more weight bias towards the front and the steering head isnt quite as steep. I find it steers better, less twitchy, as a result. My previous gas gas was a racing with a two way Reiger shock and marzocchi forks. The suspension on the RR TRS is a significant improvement. I got mine in February, in terms of problems all I've had to replace is the spherical bearing in the linkage which was £20. The seals and bearings throughout the rest of the linkage are still good and not damaged due to a better linkage design. My bikes done quite a bit of work so I've gone through pads, wheel bearings and sprockets as you would expect. I did richen the carb a little from new but I had to do the same to the gas gas. Overall I'm delighted with it, its well thought out and properly put together. I'll have another one.
  12. He has wind ?
  13. Maybe the truck priority has changed under new promoters ?

It's how I bleed them when I have to fit a hose so will work. With the bars on right hand lock the clutch master cylinder is at its highest point. Back the adjustment off on the lever so there free play in the system then pumping the lever will cause any bubbles to rise. No need for a bleed nipper. Others may disagree but it's always worked for me and it'll take5 mins if everything is ok so you don't have a lot to lose.

Just top it up, turn bars to right full lock and pump the lever. If the fluid starts to drop either the hose is damaged or loose or the slave cylinder seals have failed.
  16. Tricky dicky does.
  17. Where did you see that ? Just needs some more mud in the series and we might get some more variation in results

If they really want it it's very difficult to stop them. Most security stuff will just delay them. Hopefully for long enough for their attendance to be noticed. Get alarms, chains, take the wheels out and get it insured.
  19. I hope it's wrong, if gas gas are going to support Busto, Fajardo and Dabill they've learnt nothing. Also what happens to the Peace brothers, Jack Price, Grattarola, Farre, Kadlec? Way to many riders already
  20. Are you talking about the bolt that fastens the clamp to the top yoke or one of the bolts that retains the actual handlebar within the clamp ?
  21. Ah the second favourite pastime of the keyboard warrior. The first is spending other people's money. Why don't the trade / acu / fim pay for.... The second is the same principle but it's people's time. I'm not saying that isn't a good idea @oni nou just asking who in the acu or local clubs has the time or money.
  22. By the way the event I mentioned is full, 450 entries. They have a brewery attending with a beer tent, a band , a dj and a mobile pizza company. It's a different scale altogether
  23. £65 to enter the MTB Enduro event at Alwinton this weekend. For that they get practice on sat pm and to ride the event on the Sunday.
  24. @on it whilst I can see what you mean if we got just half the people who go practicing every week to ride instead we would then have a lot more entries ? However we have to have a sensible approach as if we fundamentally change events to suit those that currently practice we risk the people who ride now leaving to practice. Which gets us nowhere. The issue is that riders now expect their exact requirements to be met. This can only be done for smaller groups if at all.
  25. Main thing was skimming weight off the flywheel and advancing ignition timing. More power but stalled easier
