I can confirm I did this in the last group at the ssdt this year, 30 minutes stuck in first rushing to ensure I lost no time penelties meant I'm still suffering from white knuckle.

If there is a practicing ban the only way to fight this is to get the clubs that you all are members of to fight it for you. They then need to employ a professional to help them overturn a ban. We've employed someone to deal with the National Parks & without his work I'm 100% certain we would loose everytime.

No you've got that totally wrong. Slowing down in the woods just before to let me pass, now that was premeditated. Missing the the flags on the road, now that was deliberate. Getting a meal in the Indian after midnight 'cos Kinnel was later back than anyone else has ever been, now that's lucky.

You may be confused, the fastest man takes somewhere around 5 1/2 hours to do it & us mortals then get another 2 1/2 hours to finish in after that. First rider is away at 9.00am & they go off at 20 second intervals after that. Start field is between Richmond & Marske, the trial goes round Swaledale & Arkendale. RMC sell a good programme which has a map in it showing all the major spectator points. The way the route will run this year I suggest Start field, Surrender then Whaw Bridge then Underbanks & finally back to the finish.

You got the throttle body & computer cable + software + a load of carbon bling on the 05 repsol which most folk considered good value for money over the standard bikes price, so my guess is that the 07 repsol model will be similar. What comes with the 07 model standard bike is what I want to know, will it be programmeable as standard??????

well you can take out the trashing your bike, Heaths bike has already done a Scott & it's not a junker is it? Don't go out or drink etc for the next 6 weeks & that's the rest paid for.

Normally dual route sections, hard course is UK National standard & is tough. Easy course is probably as hard as most Scottish Nationals on the 'A' route, certainly considerably harder than the 'B' route is.

More than 250 views but not a single volunteer, is that fear I can smell? There's a load of you out there that can talk a good trial but are you man enough to ride a REAL trial?

It's supposed to be 3 but I know that one or two teams in the past have had the odd extra rider or two.

Earlier this year Andy mentioned that he'd like TrialsCentral to put in one of the teams for this years Scott. Having spoke to him he's willing to do all the organising etc etc. All we need now is a team of riders, who's up for it?

I raced a Harley today and after some really hard riding I managed to PASS the guy. I was riding on one of those really, really twisting sections of mountain road with no straight sections to speak of and where most of the bends have warning signs that say "MAX SPEED 40 MPH". I knew if I was going to pass one of those monsters with those big-cubic-inch motors, it would have to be a place like this where handling and rider skill are more important than horsepower alone. I saw the guy up ahead as I exited one of the turns and knew I could catch him, but it wouldn't be easy. I concentrated on my braking and cornering. Three corners later, I was on his mudguard. Catching him was one thing; passing him would prove to be another. Two corners later, I pulled up next to him as we sailed down the mountain. I think he was shocked to see me next to him, as I nearly got by him before he could recover. Next corner, same thing. I'd manage to pull up next to him as we started to enter the corners but when we came out he'd get on the throttle and out-power me. His horsepower was almost too much to overcome, but this only made me more determined than ever. My only hope was to out-brake him. I held off squeezing the lever until the very last moment. I kept my nerve while he lost his. In an instant I was with him. Corner after corner, I could hear the roar of his engine as he struggled to keep up. Three more miles to go before the road straightens out and he would pass me for good. But now I was in the lead and he would no longer hold me back. I stretched out my lead and by the time we reached the bottom of the canyon, he was more than a full corner behind. I could no longer see him in my rear-view mirror. Once the road did straighten out, it seemed like it took miles before he passed me, but it was probably just a few hundred yards. I was no match for that kind of horsepower, but it was done. In the tightest section of road, where bravery and skill count for more than horsepower and deep pockets, I had passed him. Though it was not easy, I had won the race to the bottom of the mountain and I had preserved the proud tradition of one of the best bits of Brit iron. I will always remember that moment. I don't think I've ever peddled so hard in my life. And, some of the credit must go to Raleigh cycles, as well. They really make a great bicycle...

Rider age / bike categories are set in stone, quite simply the kids can only compete on the correct CC machines. my 7 year old is 4' 4'' & weighs 55 pounds.
