Hey all Looking to get a new motorcross bike for hare and hound racing. I ride the Midwest series and Wessex centre enduros so I need a bike that is quite agile and very torquey. I am currently in the sportsman class but will go up into the clubman class in 2009. Last year I rode a YZF 250 with a flywheel weight, but I am unsure to stay with a four stroke or go for a 300 2 stroke? I liked the YZF but am curious if there is anything better out there. Anyone have any experiences or recommendations? If anyone can advise me on these questions I would much appreciate it. What is a better bike for hare and hound, 300cc stroke or 250 four stroke? What manufacture of bike would you recommend? I am currently considering a Honda CRF 250 has anyone had an experiences of these bikes? Thanks for the answers Scott

Hi I to recently had four motorbike stolen of which two were trials bikes. I have been informed that there is no real market for stolen trials bikes in the UK, we are too honest, so they are shipped over to Belgium and then on elsewhere. Obviously it will only be shipped if it was a professional gang but you may be lucky and some local scum may have it so it will may turn up. Speak to all your local bike shops and clubs as it may make an appearance there. I know the feeling of having bikes stolen and its like a kick in the crotch. Hope this helps Scott

Four bikes stolen early hours of 1st April from Bristol area. Very unique bikes with lots of extras and all have been stamped with names and post codes in several areas. 1X 2006 Repsol 4rt Montesa Honda, auxiliary tank on front, Mitani exhaust, Hebo pegs, new mudguards, oversized clutch master cylinder and V-mar rear linkage. 1X 2006 4rt Montesa Honda, very clean example, auxiliary tank on front and oversized clutch master cylinder. 1X 2006 Yamaha YZF250, Classic red and white sticker kit, white plastics, FMF powerbomb header, rare oversize Clarke fuel tank, hand guards, red radiator hoses, and number 552 on plates when stolen. 1X 2004 KTM 65SX, white and blank stickers and plastics Any information would be greatly received if any bikes have been spotted or have been offered to anyone. pressure wash off all the muck let drip dry for 5-10mins spray on WD40 spray on chain oil in a day or so Well thats what I do and always seem to work, also buy a good quality chain.

Hi all Just came across 2007 NATC trials coverage on UK television. It is on a channel called Pulse, sky channel 208. I do not know if the channel is available on cable, but the coverage is pretty good and it lasts an hour Its on at 3pm today but I think its repeated regularly through the week. Also has AMA Supermoto and AMA Hillclimbing if your into that sort of thing. Cheers

At least our sport is getting some national coverage. Just a shame its because the scum has been busy.

But lights are easy to disable. We thought the lights would help deter the scum but it did not they either smashed them of moved the sensor around. We still had four bikes stolen earlier in the year even though we had a very secure garage with alarms etc. We were lucky to get our bikes back but since them we have beefed up everything again with better alarms, stronger doors, locks, chains and some unorthodox measures. As said before though if they really want your bikes they will still find away to get them. We have also started storing the bikes at different locations so at best we have a maximum of 2 in the garage at once. Best anti thief deterrence I have come across was a guy who rebuilt his garage with a secret underground level where he kept his bikes and valuables. The trap door to the stairs was covered with a fileing cabinet so no one knew it was there. Sounds like a great ideal but just a pain to build and cost quite a bit of money.

Hi all I want to raise my handlebars on my 2006 4rt. I am running the standard Domino handlebars and I want to purchase some bar raisers. All I can find are V-mar and Hope raisers for their replacement yokes. I really do not want to spend that much money on replacing the yoke. Anyone know of some handlebar raisers that will work with the standard yoke and Domino bars. Thanks Scott

Hey all T&O are still very popular in the Bristol area running one every 2 weeks or so. Just a shame NSMCC lost use of Tanner Trudge but I have many fond memories of my dad and brother struggling through the mud. May even have some pictures around somewhere if people are interested. Anyways, I digress. Sounds like a great idea Spud. My club, NSMCC, run T&O a little differently than you are proposing but I can still see it working very well. Due to the amount of people wanting to ride we limit entries to only 60 as so to alleviate bottlenecks and make life easier for observers. We have a good mix of enduro and trials bikes. Probably about 20 Enduro bikes per event but some venues are quite wide open so they attract more Enduro bikes. We find its a good mix and if anything attracts the more talented Enduro riders and trials riders, most notably Andy Frost from this area and more recently Mark Hucklebridge. One thing you do need to take into account is that sections need to be left wide open due to the poor turning circle of the enduro bikes and to avoid bottle necks. We never really struggle with observers missing anything as are marking is different from normal trials which makes life easier on them: 0 = clean 3 = 1 foot down to numerous feet down, paddle your way out of a section if you wish 5 = crash, stall, having to get off the bike or ride out of the section Our timing system is also different in that the fastest rider sets standard time, 0 points and then for every 30 second after that every other rider has 1 point added onto their score. This gives a best overall performance of speed and technical ability. I do not know how we run under the ACU permits etc but i hope this post has given you some insight. Have fun Scott

Thanks for the replies guys. I am going to ride the bike and see how bad the clutch is however my dealer said something about the clutch so it may have already had the modification. If it has not what is the best route to go; 315r master cylinder or mitani clutch plates? How do I reset the throttle sensor? Should I do this after I crash or stall to make restarting easier? I am now a bit worried about the kickstart return. It is probably fine but just before I do any damage are there any signs that it is broken? Sorry about all the questions. Thanks in advance Scott

Hi all Just got my hands on a 05 4rt in excellent condition. A retired guy had it from new and only used it once or twice a year and he part exchanged it for a new one. I have not had a chance to really ride it yet but I wanted to ask a few questions asked before I compete on it. 1) What are the recommended modifications and parts done to the bike to make it better? 2) What is the best technique to make it start in gear or make finding neutral easier? 3) What is the most effective way to ride the bike?
