Yes it is a normal right hand thread if it is really tight try using a
center punch ,this normally shifts em!
-
I see the new beta 4t is on todotrial looks nice!
-
The most effective way to soften the power down is to
retard the ignition anything up to about four degrees
is ok!
-
Sad news long standing observer from the south midlands center was found dead in his van.
Russ lines who is always up at the major trials had driven up we presume on saturday night
ready for sunday's trial and what appears to have happened is he must have suffered a heart attack.
comming from the south midlands center ourselves we knew him well he will be greatly missed!
-
The new 08 beta's have keihin carbs so no more problems relating
to that, and as for the stators all the newer bikes are ok.
-
Look in rs components they have an on line site they will have
some i'm sure i have bought some for work from them in
the past .
-
The answer to your question is that there should not be any
piston slap at all if it's only as old as you discribe, under
normal use . You will have to take the head and barrel off and
have a look inside !
-
If it's a cracking it will be the cross bar clamps on the handle bars
the headset bearings will not make that noise they tend to make
a knocking noise not the sharp cracking as you discribe.
Give them a good tighten up but loctite them as they
will come loose again1
-
He must not be riding for scorpa any more, i hear he did not really get on with it.
he had ridden gas gas for ages prior to going to them1
-
Having ridden the 08 250 beta i can say that the keihin is an improvement
over the mikuni, they have now got the carb sitting more or less level
with a different inlet manifold and airbox. It is very nice !
-
For 10 years the team riders have used the Mikuni in the ssdt, world rounds etc, and from experience the Keihin can be a bugger to get set up right. Little bit of adjustment on the mikuni, about 15 minutes worth, and it is fine. Still, it will give people something else to moan about for a change
Andy, send us a picture of it will ya
The team riders have a bit more time and expertise spent on there bikes to get them spot on
than most people have ,so hopefully the point in them fitting the keihin is to move on
not go backwards!
-
I here the 08 bikes have quite a few mods one of which is a keihin
carb, about b****y time it's only took years for them to listen!
-
The valve is for nitrogen recharging only it is not
supposed to have air in it the rear shocks on those are well under damped
and not up to much really.I used to trail ride one and it's biggest let down was the suspension.
-
I was down to ride but buggered my leg up so had to phone and cancel the entry
which i was gutted about. The tales of this crap weather make it all feel not so bad!
-
Hello greaemecota if you call or drop in to any off road dealer you
should be able to get some oil for the g/box there is a oil especially recomended for
two stroke bikes it should be a 75wt oil.
-
yes know what it's like ridden the manx and got rider no two off and not much better the time
before so asked please can we have better no this time so have been given last of
just can't win!
-
I had the same problem with my bike ,i noticed cracks appearing around
the pivot area ,i spoke to the importers and they replaced if foc,& it
was no longer in warranty that is the sort service you get with BETA !
-
To be honest just dont go mad on the throttle and you will
be fine you don't really need to run in as such on modern
engines the materials and clearances are such now,it is
not like years ago! My bike was new straight out of
the crate and off up to scotland no running in there
and she's fine!
-
Stick them on with evostick then lock wire
them !
Renthal grip glue is only evostick but twice the price.
-
Trialsbits.co.uk supply all that you may require ,tools
and parts ,hope this is of some help!
-
Yes as said on some models rather than change the frame
to alter the offset they simply did this by off setting the
bored holes in the yokes.
In therory if you got some offset boared yokes &
the steerer was of the same length to another bike you
could fit them as a way of changing the bike's rake
without all the cost involved in modifying the frame.
-
All the leading trials clothing manufacturers make wet weather gear,
personally i have got one of the hebo soft shell jackets,it has been
well tested in pouring rain all day and i stayed dry!
Alternatly the mountain biking gear is really good and you
get more for your money than with the trials gear!
-
If you want the best clutch kit in my opinion then
contact haven trialsport on 01469532600
they are really clued up when it comes to monts
they will be able to sort you out on any parts or advice!
-
You are very unlikely to seal it up completely to make it
stay totaly watertight as said put holes in it this is what
mine is like, remove it now and then to spray in some
corrosion inhibitor .It will stay dry and rust free believe
it or not you will not suffer any problems in corrosion terms!
-
I have the same jets in my 06 bike and have left the needle
in it's standard position my bike seems fine.
If i were you i would just drop it a notch and give
it a whirl, not all the bikes seem to be the same
anyway !
