GasGas 280 Pro advice
Well most people that work on bikes would think it was a fair statement with all the things that have gone wrong. Just the amount of problems the shift shaft alone has caused comeplete tear downs. On the other hand if I had said that gasser stators held up better than Beta stators do 19 to 1 you would have smiled.

Running Lean?
If not the carb, I would check the main bearings.

Beta Evo 300 4T oil quantity.
Also, did you remove the two bottom screen filters? It is a pain, but at least 75 cc more oil.

GasGas 280 Pro advice
A Pro motor is more likely to need the cases split than any other modern trials motorcycle. That is just a known fact.

Beta 4t exhaust
PJW123, sounds like you should have bought the standard. More performance is the why to buy the factory. Either pipe works fine and you could get the full exhaust from arrow. My son just loves the power of his.

Where does it come from ?

GasGas 280 Pro advice

GasGas 280 Pro advice
Not everyone adapts to trials riding the same. Modern bikes are all about clutch control. If you do not have it you are in for some exciting rides. It seems previous riding experience does little compared to athletic ability. Some take to it rigjt away and others struggle for years to get just a little better than when they started.Good luck and always make it fun.

NETA rules changes
My son did that his first trials with one on. And he is tall and thin. Just had to reposition the mounting. It does take some thinking and it does give a false sense of security on nasy sections.

New map available!
Sunday at the US GP I laughed at all the stomping and blowing on rocks. Out of 17 GP riders I gave out 27 fives for 34 attempts. I had only 5 riders get through my section. Lots of crashing going on. I thought the riders handled it exactly as I would have. All celebration when they made it and p****d off when they crashed. And a Vertigo did make it up once all weekend. Fajrado did get a one on his fourth ride.

Bike for a 10 year old
Yes, my son actually rides a Beta 300 4T. When he was ten years old he was over 5 foot and growing fast. I made my own peg mounts and used tall ATV bars. We sold his bike and soon the new owner realized an adult could actually ride that TY 80. We now have around 10 guys riding the TY80 class just for fun.

2017 Evo 300 4t Service Manual
The 4T does not require much attention other than oil changes and carb work. Over thinking ownership, go ride it more.

NETA rules changes
I saw a rider in the GP class with back protection. He had a terrible crash in the section I was scoring at Kingman. Too bad the foot peg hit his kidneys two inches away from his protector. I was relieved when he got up and walked out of the section. PS I have become more comfortable with the wrist strap. It has saved my bike once in the six months of use. It also has caused me to almost crash in 6th gear twice while attempting to scratch my nose.

Bike for a 10 year old
The ty80 can be made to fit with custom peg mounts, taller bars. We actually have a ty80 class in our vintage series. This is my 6 foot 4 inch tall boy.

NETA rules changes
Since this was re-kindled, the FIM has two more rules coming. Face guards and they have to be approved and back protection. Before long we will have air bags.

Won't start.
Blowing air through a Keihin can kill it. Who ever originally thought blowing compressed air through small passageways was helpful was an idiot. Now everyone thinks this is normal. I hope you find you have done something else and it again runs great. Otherwise there is hope. There is a tower inside the body that can be removed. It`s held in place with security screws. This allows further access to the other passages. Trouble is you cannot buy the o ring type seal that seals the tower, so be careful. Good luck.

125 Size Differences?
Are you sure it is not the 80?

dellorto cab swop
That is like going backwards. Would need new manifold and air box boot. Throttle cable too.

Most likely the suspension is sacked out.

Sherco 125 engine problem
If it will not run unless the choke is on, the first thing would be a good carb clean. Secondly you need to check the fluid flows from the petcock and that the tank is actually clean inside.

Front brakes intermittently getting harder.
Bent rotor, loose front axle, air in the system.

Sherco 125 engine problem
Or a poor way of explaining a real burnt clutch.
