  1. I am trying to get the stick out your rear, recip appreciated! Seems Baldi is stuck in the muck!
  2. Never hurts to ask!!! I'llbet Chris or Wullie have one just sitting there on the shelf collecting dust!! ps- I bumped your ego a bit, reciprocate to get me out the negs thanks to Baldi!
  3. Yes,BUT, this basically requires a Full Pop on the clutch, and thus as in Ray's suggestions, you will likely pop yoursel right out the section unless you get the basic motion down first.
  4. Ray explains this as well as I have ever seen here, the two basic techniques, either moving or not. Using momentum, or not. And it takes a bit to get your head around it all. On a stationary hop, moving your hips and pulling the bike back under you with the feet can be mean a real aggressive move needed. Not easy,as if someone actually pushed you hard on the hip to knock you off. That is the type action required for a big hop! Watch this again
  5. I wonder why they put a seat on them things? Probably so you can sell one to a normal person!
  6. So have you suddenly found the need to take on a Spanish speaking lass? On a pushbike?
  7. I do not know anyone who has the money to just simply try them both as a comparison! I feel sure they are both good quality, as have not heard different. As I recall, the TRP was priced a bit under the Ohlins at one point, say $500us V $600us, which may make them more tempting, yet at the same price? I would have to go Ohlins I think. Seems the reports include the Ohlins fit the "10 and "11 bikes, while the older TRP did not untill a re-design which is now available. I cannot afford any them, so I am just waiting to see if one you will send me one the crap stockers off a new "11 for a song! I'll gladly try it in the "07 and report back!!!!!!
  8. I cannot fathom just why you feel the need to see it. If you put 450 in, then you know whats in it. Now if you only get 250 out, then you have other problems.
  9. Getting the bike to settle a bit under it's own weight(static sag)of about 20mm would be a good start. Yoiu can easily judge this by motion of lifting the mudguard a bit with the bike standing verticle.
  10. PM Nigel Dabster, he knows the biz in the area, he might be able to reccomend someone local to you, as he is a bit off in MK.
  11. Ryan Young's first DVD seems to be the one of choice. Gives you a lot to work on. Joining a local club and meeting folk to ride with and share experience is a big deal. Having fun in the process is a bigger deal!
  12. Ron is correct about the Pro Taper adapters and bars. I have not owned them, but I have seen the installation and seems good at a little over $100 I think. Not sure who stocks them but may call Ryan. The other route gets fairly expensive with the V-mar top clamp and mounts for about $180, thhen add the bars of choice. Lewisport or Tec Cycles sell V-mar stuff. There is a bloke in the UK currently making some adjustable top clamps for the Sherco. Not sure about the cost, as he has just completed the prototypes, look good though. Let me know if you are interisted and I'll put you in toutch.
  13. Your carb appears very NORMAL!!!! No prob!
  14. What year is your bike? For the most part the standard advice is to leave the gearing alone at standard as well and learn the bike. In my opinion you need to learn the clutch. To do this , you must ride up a gear from normal, forcing you to use the thing. Most sections in second gear, feel for grip with the clutch, not throttle, works re the revs, you can rev till hell but won't change things. Gota giv a try,as after a while it becomes mor natural
  15. Doubt i would rely on Hebo if history prevails.
  16. Wayne answered that(perv). Even the words gives me shivers! Just think of it, BTP! Is that feckin sick or what? Oh, btw, tomorrow is my b-day, so I got TWO good pints tonite, the rest is the cheap crap but after the first two it makes no difference.
  17. This is true. Add the fact if you are just putting about all the time and no roads or continued high revving or hard running, you can go down to 100:1 or 50ml per 5L. This helps prevent excess buildup in the muff and such, as well as being a bit more envionmently friendly.
  18. In answer to your original question, I have run one of them little ally vent thingies on the cap for years without problem, other than I lost one at one point. Irony of all that is the fact I actually found it on the trail to begin with back in about '05!!!! And it was anodized blue! Could not resist. The very short hose setion that holds them needs to be very tight fitting. I have just never liked the hose up there, plastic cap plug seals the hole in top frame nicely. Your mileage may vary!!!!!!
  19. Slow return to idle is usually a partly blocked pilot jet. Might have disturbed a slight bit of dirt while off, as this just started.
  20. I have long ago admitted to the fact that I am just a crap rider. Moving anything on anything just makes things worse as the head starts spinning at that point. Seems everythind a tradeoff in some respect.
  21. At least you are adjusting well. I hope none of this has caused a change in your plans for your trip, because once they butterfly the penis there is no turning back!
  22. No biggie Bill! You just gotta like to ride a bit. I felt the same way(and still do at times)just takes time on the bike. Just sit on the fender about where the screws are if you get tired standing!

    Mr. Z

Sorry Glenn(Baldi), but this IS the US threads. Would you be kind enough to stand in the corner and wear this little hat we have for you?
  24. Looks like probably a Mitani clutch kit. Odd colored plates go to the ends supposedly!
  25. Should we open a thread for "Queer" bikes then?
