  1. From the looks of this, it was just about the right time --- to-- yell--SNAKE!
  2. You know Ham, I just do not get all this. So a few new preppies move in, the head dick simply leaves, and they just install another. Is that how it all works? Who is screwing the queen? Don't you have a goddam king or summat?
  3. I am thinking it would take an extra 20-30 grand to get Pat round the WTC schedule, but we could get Biff in shape and send him off to the SSDT with nothing but a plane ticket and a case of PBR! ps: Is that my old Captain America helmet?
  4. Doug's day, John------well nevermind, it was just a little play on words. Nice piccy by Gizza though! You two are now internationally famous anyway!
  5. What size main jet is in it? Does it have stock reeds? Do you cary a spare coil in your backpack?
  6. Well, numpty, what all that really means is that I would not second guess their judgement, even if incorrect. Sometimes things do not play out as you intended. True diagnostics on this stuff is nil! Pick your poison!
  7. Well, it all started off early with a listen on Nevis radio! Then things got worse!

    Credit ?

I promised the wifey to re- do the kitchen floor as soon as she found a tile she liked. As her colors ar not "in" and seems most everything is in beige or brown, I have been free for three years now! But now she wants the countertops too!
  9. Sounds as though you got it down. I was going to try and write some long story, but it fell to the wayside. Likely just been confusing, as you just have to be there. All bottom line, same basics, get ALL the old oil out of the damper, and go back with the measures of quantity and everything is fine. Brad at RYP would be the one to ask about doing an updated video of this. He is quick at it! Also uses a lot less foul language than me when things do not go properly!

    2010 Sherco

This does not really happen nowadaws, reguardless of brand. If you bash any of the steel framed bikes hard, they will bend. The normal material is 4130 tubing, or a slight derivitive, which can easily be welded without problem, yet is only a mild steel in itself, and works well as it has desireable attributes in other aspects of stress and such. I can tell the bike in the pic came down hard on the bars. Full inpact probably, from just how high? Do not know. Was it enough to take out the fatbars as well? Possibly so.
  11. There you go with the SSDT names! Pipeline (something) 'cause it all runs downhill! Aint that right, Pipey?
  12. Actually I thought all this quite entertaining. I hate that Doug lost out because of all this, yet still, hindsight is ALWAYS 20-20 unfortunatly. You see, many times there are no real patterns to this kinda stuff. Experience does come into play, yet will not neccessarily be your saving grace. I always kind of relate it all to starting at the Head, or the Ass! Eventually you will work your way through, either way. Sometimes the probabilities can outweigh the process, and you will be fooled. All part of it! No ones fault, just happens. Now personally, I am both lazy and cheap, so the process usually goes something along the lines of Plug, Wires, Coil/CDI, then Stator as a last resort. This does seem the most logical and economical process, specially if you have a mate with a good CDI/coil that you can try, cost nil. In the heat of battle, things can change. Go with your Gut, win or loose! Sometimes you get lucky, others you do not. And no, I do not keep a spare on hand of either, cause they never fail you know, and cost too much!

    2010 Sherco

I have not seen one hit hard enough to damage a tube, but I think you may have the right idea. If you are referring to using stainless steel tube, it can be a bit soft, but better than nothing.
  14. Personally, I tend to stay away from the pink and orange long life coolants in the bike. Some of that stuff has nasty residues. I do not neccessarily think the corrosion resistance is better, just lasts longer, but not an issue in the bike as I drain mine annually. One thing for sure, don't mix them! And use distilled water when mixing your batch as it in itself helps things get along nicely.
  15. Seems Alexz pulled it off! I am proud for him! When all this goes round, the bikes may all be good, yet it is the riders that shine! Congrats kid! If Dabster croaks tomorrow, he will have a smile on his face! Now go kick some butt! I had a chance today to click on the Facebook thing, and Gizza had some nice pics up! I even had a chance to click on the Nevis Radio link, yet I fear it was too late, and what was on was not Big John! Bit not ! DJ sounded like Andy rambling, could not catch a word! Seems the girls put on a hard charge, with Becky at spot 90 with 261 dabs, Emma at spot 93 with 261 and Joanne at spot 95 with 274. All this and a bad day put Baldilocks just out of the top 100 at spot 105 and 293 points lost. Not bad, as like myself, I am like a good dog and want to leave my mark in EVERY section! Top Job Glenn! Still a Girlsandwich, cause Katy finished at spot 137! Ishy did in another one, falling back to spot 181 and 465 points, yet he made it. I hope he did not catch the Virus and let all that dribble down into his boots as well! Jamie finished, I think! Or was it the other way round?

    Bar Ends

Dremel tool with the small sanding drum on. Carefully takes them out without tears to perfect size.
  17. What do you do when the bike is broken? Stay home and play wit the dog! Bikey Isbusted!

    Oil Ratio

We have run 80:1 in the bikes for a decade now, and including Pro level top riders, and without issue. Fact is that those that just simply putt putt about most the time can easily run as high as 100:1 ratio. A lot of oil accumulates in the motors and exhaust and you still need to take them out for a good hard run in high gear or do a couple good hillclimbs to really get things flowing and some heat in the muff. May smoke like crazy if it is loaded up, but keeps things cleaned out this way. A clogged muff on a Sherco is an expensive replacement!

    Oil Ratio

80:1 ratio of full synthetic, which should be 62.5 ml per 5L.
  20. Day 5 has been rough on Baldilocks, falling back a bit from Becky, and with Emma on his heels! Must make up a few points tomorrow, or he will be a girl sandwich! Looks like Jack is out! Come on Dougie! These kids are just too much! Even Jamie is doing well!
  21. Rear suspension linkage, steering head bearings, yet as these things go, one can usually freshen them up to a decent level for just a few quid here and there. Problem with all this, I will tell you to stay off a 2.9 and find a 2.5 or something as a beginning rider. Even a 125 or 200 can be a lot easier on you, the rider!
  22. Dusda Crapeverstop! :rolleyes Had a cat like that once!
