A new fork inner for a Beta is about 110 pounds. I know 'cause I scratched mine and the seal kept leaking. BUT...I did a repair with araldite, and rubbed it down smooth, and it has never been a problem since. (over one year now..and I ride at least once a week). I agree (of course if you have the money) get a new one...but if not...try the repair first...if it dont work, THEN buy a new one

THis might not be TOO much help...BUT, My Rev 3 250 (2002) is still going strong on its original stator

Follow Kinells advice neonsurge and you should be fine. Only difference I find with mine (though probably my own ham-fistidness..."spelling?)....is that when I replace mid-exhaust, I have to do it before I secure the bolts that hold the airbox. BUT..it IS easier to put the carb etc back in place without the mid exhaust....I usually just have to kind of put the mid exhaust and airbox in position at the same time..and jiggle them around a bit

I agree clarkp....DEFINATELY buy the newest one you can afford...they seem to be getting better every year. I only know Beta...but even the Rev3 seems to keep getting better. I compared an 04 one with MY 02 one the other day...and they 04 one seemed ALOT better.

Does anyone know if I would be able to camp (on site) for the World round in Puerto Pajares in July. I guess most of the local pension's will be full and I'd rather camp anyway if possible. Thanks in advance for any advice/ideas

Surerfly...here's my two-penneth. IF you have a bit of spare cash...get some lessons. THEN you wont feel intimidated to turn up at ANY event. I used to think the "trick riding" wasnt for me. ANd actually I still can't ride very trick!! ...BUT some lessons on the basic techniques will help you understand the "tricks" and not be scared to try a few. It will also make your ride less hard work. Steve Saunders has VERY reasonable trials schools. Check out his website...google search would find it. Then maybe you can find some less lame riders to hang out with

HIya. Does anyone know if you can fit a modern trials bike into the back of a Renault Extra van (1.9 diesel)..I know here theres a cheap one for sale that I'm interested in. Its only a small van..so I wonder if it would fit??

Hi all... The weld on the final bracket of my end sinlencer broke yesterday. has anyone else had this. DO you think another weld/repair similar will be OK..or should I make a ring/collar to go all the way around it to support it better??

WOW..thanks guys. Will grease my wheel bearings tommorow Charlie. Bit scared about greasing the swingarm though...I guess that means removing the swingarm..is it difficult?? I'm pretty sure my wheel bearings have no play in them,,,but its good idea to grease them...thanks for that. Guess I should be giving the Beta a bit more TLC!!

Wish I could think of a way to meet these people, and let my knee have a quiet word with their groin! They really are scumbags!!.....so that in itself proves they CAN'T be trials riders!!!!!!!

Just read the advert of someone selling an 04 Montesa that looks pretty mint. Says he's just changed brake pads, wheel bearings, AND suspension linkage bearings. Now...I'm just wondering...am I neglecting my Beta. I ride it 2 or 3 times a week (its an 02 model) and I still haven't changed a single bearing. They all seem OK for me..but should I be more carefull and get these things done??

Hi Clark, I'm sure you're smart enough to not be doing what I was doing but I'll mention it anyway. I was getting through the rubber silent block things as well, but since I stopped picking up the bike by the exhaust its been OK. Otherwise, the other advice all sounds good to me
