  1. I do not understand how this idea will change demand. But if I could make a dime on each one of those e mails sent I'd sign up in a flash.I will catch hell for this but...as Americans we pay very little for our petro chemicals. How much of what you pay for a gallon of gas is tax vs. actual cost?It has been National policy for years to keep the flow of crude uninterupted and cheap, they have done a good job of it.For me the real world solution is a smaller pick up,dump the gas guzzling F-250!
  2. Vinnie, that is a nice R-E.Isn't it amazing how much time can be spent gawking at a well done vintage bike?Yet 2 or 3 minutes is all it takes to check out the latest models.
  3. I linked it so not to use your storage or bw,hope I didn't offend.Thought some of the pre 65 guys might like to see some of the Brit bikes.Any one can use any image they like.I will probably delete in a couple of weeks.
  4. Why go through all this grief?Take the bike to a mechanic and with all the money you will save not working on it yourself take your girlfriend to McDonalds
  5. Most looking at this topic probably appreciate antique and vintage motorcycles. This past weekend I went to Las Vegas to the mid America antique motorcycle auction.Quite a few U.K. buyers because of the strength of the Pound. Here is a link to some images taken there. It will take you to a sub dir, just click on the file names to see the pic. http://allen224.com/vegas
  6. Eric, does this mean you will join the Scorpa revolution? It will be interesting to see what a 200cc + modern four stroke will be like.Looking forward to it,hope they stay with a backbone frame.
  7. I am with Alan and Bob on this one.Restricted exhaust flow will cause the conditions you have.Runs ok at low speed but choked down as you increase engine speed.Try the cheap fix first, burn all the spooge/oil out of the pipe.A couple of extended 3/4 + throttle fourth gears runs up a slight grade should get that goo smokin hot!If it helps some then repack the muffler.
  8. Give them all a try if the owners will let you.The one that is most comfortable to you and mechanically sound is the best bet.All the brands are good.Sworn to fun, loyal to none!
  9. I think Jay nailed it.A new bike makes me feel good but but my skills are so poor it doesn't make a difference in my ride.Hard not to be happy with a shiny new bike though!
  10. I may jump when they get that thing + 200cc.Kinda fat for a 125!
  11. I would try the Yamaha page. Can't see how the specs would differ much from the TTR.
  12. Ishy's idea is best, the other stuff is nonsense.Let's hear about the girls!
  13. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes when I read the post. That is the funniest thing I've seen here. You better get an SWM in the garage quick before the old lady starts keeping tabs on her makeup.
  14. Is this official line from your time as a engineer at Montesa? good shot PA!yer sense of humor isn't lost.still not as good as yer canuck united national trials quip last week.
  15. I once had a Hungarian made motorcycle called a Danuvia. They were imported into the U.S under the name White.Very easy to work on,even easier to find parts for
  16. Thought this deserves to be bumped back to the top.Hope to see more advertisers all the time. :santawink:
  17. I know this topic has been beat to death.I just got a new pair of Novogars, comfortable from the first ride. The Alpinestars I just tossed were not comfy until they were worn out beyond repair. The straps on the novos are long enough to fit around my fat calfs unlike the alpines which needed longer straps.I am pleased so far with the Novogars.Any out there with long term thoughts on the Novos?
  18. Kind of loses something in the translation
  19. Thanks for the answer Charlie. The 98 is the link type[dog bones]I guess Mike at the Tryals shop would be able to give me the answer I need.
  20. How much play[movement] should there be in swing arm linkage.98 Scorpa,up on a stand with the rear wheel off.The play is verticle not side to side.It does not feel loose or sloppy but is there when I grab the end of the S A and move it.So how much,if any is normal?
  21. JMO here.A well organized pit area with EZ up tents.Lots of vendors,GOOD FOOD vendors(important stuff for a fat boy like me]clean porta cans.An easy to understand program that is free, bike trials demos. You already know all this but when put together it makes for an impressive show for the uninitiated and a show is what most want to see.Good luck with it.
