  1. Fits the 2007 model so I don't see why not.
  2. According to the results sheet, the section was cleaned by Ben Hemmo and Rich Timps. Don't think I will here the last of this from Timps though, especially if these are the only marks Doug drops all week.
  3. See you back here shortly then.

    No Stop = 5?

So every section must be capable of being cleaned then?

    No Stop = 5?

Thank you for inviting me to observe at next years trial. I will only be available for two days max and an obscure section with no spectators would be preferable!!!!

    No Stop = 5?

IMHO the sections I saw this year at Lagnaha (and last year at Forest Gate) were all capable of being ridden no-stop. The same section I referred to in my post was cleaned a few minutes later by Austermuhle without any hopping or bopping, just a brilliant piece of skill and a lesson to all who think there is more skill required by hopping and bopping.

    No Stop = 5?

Watched the 1st day at Lagnaha and saw Dabill get away with a "stop" at the end of the 2nd sub. Its amazing how such a knowledgable crowd applauds what was (IMHO) a clear 5. He must have been stationary parallell to the ends cards for 3-4 seconds before he decided what he was going to do. Are the observers briefed at all about the scoring regieme???
  8. AtomAnt, don't get me wrong, I'm just saying (IMHO) that riders at this level (WTC & BTC) have to have, as part of their armoury, not only the technical ability to clean everything thats put in front of them, but also the ability to manage their time allowance and ride with their heads.
  9. Spot on. Riders only hop and bop to save putting a foot down. They know the risk: hop and bob = more time, take a dab or two and you might save a five
  10. Surely part of the "skill" is to ride the sections within the prescribed time limit. If a rider spends alot of time balancing, hopping and bopping etc. and then gets a five because he has taken too long, then surley he should think to himself, I'll take a proper dab or two here and get a 1 or 2 instead of a 5?

  12. You'll need your license. There will be three routes (Easy, Middle and Hard) of 10 sections over 4 laps. The Easy route will be for raw beginners and wobblers (will also be suitable for Youth D), the Middle route will be for Novices (and Youth B/C) and the Hard route will be set for Intermediate standard as most of the local 'Experts' will be doing a Novagar round. Decent Youth B and Youth A riders will be OK on the hard route. I know this because I am setting the sections out.
  13. Time for a test ride me thinks.
  14. Rhino, Sutton Falcons are running a trial at Bracken Rocks near Holloway, Matlock this coming Sunday (6th). Their 'Easy Route' is fine for beginners (anywhere between the tapes so you don't have to worry about flags!) Mansfield Maun are running a trial at Clipstone, Nr Mansfield on 13th of this month and the following Sunday (20th) at Carsington Pastures near Brasisngton. Their 'Easy Route' is also fine for beginners. Sheffield & Hallamshire are running a trial at on 27th also at Bracken Rocks and I will be laying the course out with an easy 'Easy Route'. Hope this helps PS you've got the right bike!
  15. Try one. I run an 07 SY250R and have ridden my mates 250 Gasser Pro. The Gasser definately feels lighter but is more skittish on rocks and I don't think it steers as well in the tight stuff. If reliability and build quality are more important than how heavy it feels then go for a Scorpa. They are not heavy...honestly. As far as reliability is concerned, I have had mine now for 16 months from new and the only thing that has 'broken' was a self inflicted rear flap at
  16. It's an 07 judging by the colour of the frame, fork tubes and triple clamps (Do I need to get out more?)
  17. I am contemplating purchasing a new 2008 model 200F. Having read a couple of tests in TMX and YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE, I have some questions: (1) Is the designation '200' nothing more than a model year up-grade? (2) Having trawled through this forum, it seems that the 175F benefitted from so called 'Birkett Mods'. Does anybody know if the 200F now comes with Birkett Mods as standard or what? (3) What are the Birkett Mods as a matter of interest? Finally, ground clearance looks a bit compromised with the engine sump, particulalry at the front. Has anyone found it to be problematic for club standard trials (bearing in mind I am what might be described as an 'advance wobbler' rather than a good clubman and don't do 'hard stuff')? All feed-back is much appreciated.

    Toseland

Well done that man. Chance your arm on the gee gees!! He's definately a podium contender after this weekend's performance. Seems like it was a good decision on his part to go with the Tech 3 Yamaha after looking at the performance of the Gresini Hondas and the D'Antin Ducatis.
  19. You usually vote for them and end up as "Mr President"
  20. My Scorpa came with Michelins as standard but when I replaced the rear I put an IRC on. It's a goood tyre and does grip well in the wet. But let's be honest, for mere mortals they are probably as good as each other and when you replace a rear they always feel better than the one you've just ditched because it was sh**ged. I can vouch for the fact that it stays on the rim when flat. I have got a leaking rim tape and it runs perfectly with zero air.
  21. Nice to see you are now riding the bling machine. Same advice as per Scorpa3. I have found that sealing the airbox lid with tape where it joins the air box stops most crud, but I suspect it would not be in keeping with other bling.
  22. I'm not a Gasser fan, but reluctantly agreed to get the young un a 125 Pro for his move into 'B' Class. Its an 08 model and has up until this last weekend been 'trouble free'. However, after the trial had finished last Sunday, I noticed (a) Oil p***ing out of the joint between clutch cover and gearbox casing (later traced to suspect gasket) and ( Nil oil visible in sight glass. Obviously a fair amount of oil has leaked out during the trial. It's still under warranty and the dealer is doing the gasket repair, but should I worry about the damage done (if any) to the gear box??? Has any body out there suffered similar woes???

    Bash-plate Rubbers

Yes it's flat bash plate on a 2007 model. I have got a replacement sump plug from Birkett and the hexagon is f****ng massive compared to the original so I will definately follow your suggestion. Cheers DFW
