    Manx 2 day

The Manx 2 day is a "road" trial. On the UK mainlnad he will not be allowed to ride a 125 on the road until he is 17. However in the Isle of Man a 16 year old can ride a 125 on the road with a Provisional Licence. I simple need to know whether a 16 year old with a Provisional UK Mainland licence (for 50cc only) can ride a 125 on the road in the Isle of Man.
  2. Next year, my son will be 16 and he wants to ride the Manx 2 Day. Can he ride a 125 on L plates if he has a mainland moped CBT?
  3. This years Peak Trial is definately on (7th November)and the club has rallied round with a young? and enthusiastic? committee. This years trial will start as usual at Hope Cement Works and will run 32 sections in three groups - Ellmore Hill Farm, Offerton Hall and Backtor. By avoiding previously used groups at Berrystall and Oxlow House, the organisers hope that there will be plenty of time to get back to the finish before dusk.
  4. Gaerne, Made in Italy. Top quality boot and available mail order from lots of UK trials outlets
  5. No sign of prices on GG UK website so hold your horses until announced by Shirty
  6. Nice job but why o why the blue and silver! This model should be red...I know cos many many many years ago thats what I used to ride...

    2011 Bikes

Whatever that picture is its ain't no Gas Gas 2011 model. Could be a prototype by some back-street spanish trials engineer but thats a lot of metal to carry around high up. Word on the street from those in the know is that the 2011 models will be an 'economy' version of the Raga Rep so expect new frame, airbox, silencer, rear brake, mastercylinder, colours, but not much else....
  8. Here here. Best trial of the year no question.
  9. Perce, the nipper's looking forward to Sunday but we haven't had confirmation of entry yet and nowt on your web site. Are you going to publish a list of runners? . Programme & finals arrived today (Tuesday 15th) Ta:)
  10. Raga Reps are usually out by now but no sign yet? Any body know when? Have heard that they are likely to have revised frame/airbox/tank arrangement but not Sherco or Ossa-esque.
  11. Three laps of 10 sections is NOT a championship trial. Feel sorry for those who travelled from afar (Ireland, IOM, IOW etc) for what was nothing more than a club trial. Its a pity they can't make more of the venue, cos looking round there is some cracking stuff to go at. Nice walk round for a sun tan though:)
  12. If you're just going for Monday, the only place to be is Lagnaha (Kentallen village) on the Oban Road out of Ballachulish. Reet good spectatator venue, easy parking and plenty of sections. First rider due just after lunch so you'll have time to do a lap or two round Parc Ferme in Fort Bill.
  13. How good would that be...F***k the WTC and make the SSDT the new WTC!!!!!!!!!
  14. Norman, We should have been in Majorca yesterday for a long weekend but due to some bloody volcano we are stuck in the UK. We were planning to hire some trail bikes and go and have a look at the trial up at Galdent, Llucmajor. Looks like we'll have to wait 'til next year now. I've saved your contact details so that next time we're there we'll get in touch. Cheers.
  15. Many a true word spoken in jest.................
  16. Hi Belgium bloke, I have a 2008 250 Raga with a 28mm PWK Keihin semi-flatslide carb. It doesn't need slowing down. I recomend you try and find one, but as we say here in the UK "they are like rocking horse ****" (i.e almost impossible to find second-hand). Good luck.
  17. The point is there were too many trials on today in EMC land. Contrary to what has been said, clubs cannot chose to run events when they want to. Dates are fixed by the EMC and the EMC issue permits to run events. Now't to do with the individual clubs, they just get the dates that are dished out by the EMC after the "dates meeting". Just been looking at the Calendar for April and its looking grim. On the 4th there are 4 events (Sutton Falcons, Loughborough, East Coast and S.c.u.n.t.horpe) and on 11th there are 3 events (Mansfield Maun, Cheadle and S&H), on the 18th there are 3 events (Lincoln, Mansfield Maun and Peterborough) and on the 25th there are 4 events (Earl Shilton, Peak Classic, BSSA and East Coast). Don't try and tell me this makes sense, frankly its stupid.
  18. Thanks for the sympathetic response. Probably sums up why S&H don't go to the dates meeting............
  19. Time for a rant. I feared the worse when I saw the East Midland Centre calendar for today. Our usual club volunteers were on national duty (Bemrose Trial) so I stepped into the breach to run our club trial. Guess how many riders turned up? Eleven, yes ELEVEN, so I had no option but to cancel the trial. No wonder really when you see the calendar. In the East Midland Centre today there were no less than FIVE CLUB TRIALS all of which were going to clash to a greater or lesser extent with each other. Dales Classic (OK its pre-65 & twinshock, but a handful would have turned up at our trial if there was nowt else on), Pathfinders & Derby, Pegasus (Grantham), S****horpe and finally ours (Sheffield & Hallamshire). Plus there was an AMCA Barnsley Club trial, and whilst I haven't taken them into account, they would have dragged a few riders from the other events. To say I'm hacked off is an understatement.....................WHY O WHY DO THE EAST MIDLAND CENTRE NEED TO HAVE SO MANY TRIALS ON ONE DAY. ITS BLOODY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Sheffield and Hallamshire trial, Dronfield, Derbyshire. Trial set out today and we have 9 sections in the stream and 1 on the shale tip. The venue is nice and dry and should be a fantastic trial. Car Park is in a bit of a mess (thanks to idiot landowner) but as long as peeps park sensibly on the road, should be OK. Easy route should suit you fine. We've put some rocks in the waterfall so you should be able to ride up with no probs.
