I would argue that riders from different eras cannot be compared. I would say that bou is the best and most skillful from the modern era but on a twinshock its a different thing altogether, and certainly an upbrining on cyclo trails would be little or no help in the past. George best or ronaldo. Bobby moore or John Terry?

I think you started the argument if that s what it is, by saying I should use common sense. I have a young family I gave up a friday off work. When you do as I do feel free to criticise.

If its the same motor I would give it a go, its the motor that makes it more difficult to ride, my 10 y o girl was useless till the mod.

Wish you were nearer then you could try it its made soooo much difference. First off it is really difficult to stall and the take up is much more linear than the buzzy moped engine it starts off as. I can do figure of 8's with it without clutch.

Never understand this keeping the same plug for years thing. Regular changing of this cheap item keeps the spark spot on and the bike running sweet. just like a clean carb and filter for sure?

Noticed you didn't take up the offer, guess unlike me and the other commitee memebers you don't want to take a day off work for the enjoyment of others. Richard Allen doesn't ride for other reasons for which I agree with John Cowley doesn't for other reasons that I don't know, but as both of these are over 40 i think they aren't really the ones missing. The only trial where exclusions occured (as far as I know) was wycombe in which riders put bikes in vans to transport from one section group to another, hardly accepatable surely? If you must criticise please be faultless first? We did the best we could in the time available but won't bother next year with an expert championship round.

Julian Wigg fitted the biggest weight he could to the mag and it transformed the motor of the bike. Will get a photo later if I can.

Without being unfair to anyone wiggy and Sam Haslam were at the btc. There are lots of others who choose not to ride the centre championship, not to sure why.

I have a gas gas boy 50cc with a big weight on it and its a ty style motor (in effect) with all the modern bits and gears clutch etc.

I would have thought much more of an issue is the significant distance minders/catchers were supposed to do at the otter vale event this last weekend????????????///

thanks for that, think we underestimated the effect of water carrying up from the stream would have but we'll know next time. Most of us feel there is little point in marking out a championship event to only get 6 riders on that route! Be sure to book the june 50/50 date in as that should be a good do without the expert champs.

Sections are sorted should be good. Weather will be dry according to the forecast, sections for 50/50 take easier lines than the championship route so something for everyone.
