  1. I guess we are all wondering ! Was he going up or coming down ! Learning how to fall off is nearly as important as learning to stay on !
  2. Hi there. Others have posted pics from other events on here. Just need to include the link to the pics ! Look forward to seeing them ! Thanks.
  3. I'd imagine your post will bring you some various replies but one that always worked for me when the bike had been on its side ( or upside down for that matter ) was to hold the throttle wide open and give the bike a couple of kicks. If it has flooded "due to an off" then opening the throttle fully will allow more air to enter the carb / engine and usually does the trick.
  4. If your concerned about rotational axis try replacing the small collars that sit inside the mounting holes in the disc.
  5. My old 79 Montesa is wired up the same and it works fine !
  6. To the layman ! I'd imagine. Easier access, easier to adjust, easier to clean etc and should the need arise easier to remove ! Unsure in this arrangement gives any improved suspension feel tho !
  7. Hi there, the bush / spacer should pull out but normally a couple of flat blade screwdrivers to either side and it should lever out ! Done thus many times and once out make sure you clean them and apply a little grease before refitting.
  8. Great as owt ! Captures what this type of event is all about.
  9. I've got a 2006 Vivaro 2700 CDTI 1900 diesel which is the LWB crew cab. Regularly carry 3 trials bikes, could maybe get 4 in but not wanting to run the risk of foot rests damaging each other bikes. I've replaced a ball joint on mine for its Mot but apart from that it's great. Drives like a car, excellent mpg, 6 speed keeps the revs / cost down. I've read all the horror stories regarding gearboxes but mine has been spot on.
  10. Wow I'd buy that just for the condition. Make no mistake the 315 was / is and always will be a great bike with super build quality ! Get it bought before someone else does then get out and ride it !
  11. Try checking the woodruff key that correctly locates the flywheel. If this has sheared it would cause the banging that you describe when trying to kick the bike over as the timing will have slipped. Worth a check !!
  12. Hi John ! Depends who you talk to ! Some swear by Fat bars some prefer braced bars. As far as fashion goes if you look at two bikes of the same model, one with Fat bars and one with braced bars which one will look more pleasing or modern to the eye ?? Have you sorted another bike yet ? L.
  13. Hi all, Hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I have some Novogar boots and I've managed to lose the the plastic strap with the serrated edge and the plastic clip that it fastens in to. The clip fastens into the plastic lug on the boots and the strap slides into the clip "if you see what I mean" Anyone know where I can buy these plz ? Thanks.
  14. Hi, I've done a few of these. Use correct plastic primer and you should be ok using a rattle can ! Several light coats, building it up as you go. Simples !!
  15. Couple of Japanese riders Kuroyama and Nozaki riding very trick looking Yamaha's in selected world round in Fuji Japan.
  16. Hi there, There's a company that advertises on a major auction site site sell complete kits for around £36. I've used these before and the kits are ok if you take your time fitting them etc. I'm fairly sure if you pay a little extra they can produce them in an extra thick material which are better quality than the budget kits.
  17. Try Caroline Sandiford or Craig's M/C's. If they can't help I'll bet they know who can.
  18. No bother man. Some bikes have "funny quirkes" that just need to be understood. Once you have this I'd bet you'll have it sussed. Some start without choke etc, some like a whiff of throttle, some bikes if you open the throttle with the choke on will never start etc. All good fun eh ?
  19. Allan, Hello again ! Could this maybe a starting technique ! If it runs ok I'm not sure there's anything really wrong. Give me a shout and I'll pop over if you like ! Anytime ! L.
  20. Yes it normal ! They are known as floating discs ! Quite a few bikes have this arrangement , if the " clatter " bothers you some people put a bit of silicon around the spacers that the disc is mounted on. ! This still allows the discs move around but stops the noise.
  21. Unsure what sort of budget you have but if you are looking at say £800 to £1000 for a bike then a Montesa 315 would be a great bike. Easy to ride, maintain and great build quality ! Beta Rev 3 is also ok but early models suffered with stator problems. Sherco 290 could prove to be a bit of a handful for a novice !
  22. I'm 5.8" and the Jitise bars are great, riding position is spot on for me !
  23. Hi, Noticed these when the bike was for sale last week ! I think if you tried riding with these they would soon mark up and the flex on the spokes would prob cause the powder coat to crack off. ! You know when you've been Tango'd.
  24. Hi , I've got Jitsie fat bars on mine and they're great. Think they are about 6" rise. Not sure you can use the riser kit because of the hinged bar clamp !
