Nearly finnished doing it up. Need to change my mudguard for white one. If anyone wants to swap. Or will just get it sprayed in local spray shop. Anyone know what rear shock would fit. Had a go on mates gas gas. So much more bounce and response.where mine does soak it up on bumps it just seems so slow on compression and rebound.

Hi all, I own a 2004 Scorpa SY250, the one with the Yamaha engine. The bike has 38 mm Paioli forks and one tube is pitted and scored. Does anyone know a source for new tubes from anywhere in the world. Getting tubes rechromed in New Zealand is expensive and the companies take months. so I would prefer to purchase new or good used. Regards Peter.

Hello outhere, Since today it's official,i absolutly love my Scorpa SY 250. In the evening i went out to the trial grounds at Arnhem, this is a lot off lose sand with almost the grip off soap. After trying out a few tricks some experienced riders gave me, like hangin realy low in your bike for stability it suddendly went click! Now i can turn it on a dime and stand still with her, it's realy crazy. What a bike, i can't believe that a few weeks ago i was looking out for a Gas Gas as my favourite bike. Next step for me is climbing hazzard like trees and rocks or in our case here in Holland concrete blocks.

Not only am I new to the bike 250SY 2003 model, I'm new to trials and 2 strokes. I'm just after some pointers...kind of a do's and don'ts of owning and maintaining the bike. The bike as it is has been looked after by it's previous owners, and I want to continue that trend. Is there anything specific to that model that I need to be aware of ? Also what about the fuel/oil mixture....the previous owner said that he ran it 50:1 as he felt uncomfortable running it any different (old boy with a couple of old twin shocks in his garage) should I continue with that mixture or make it more in line with what I have been reading on these forums (80:1) In short anything that owne…

I didn't like the screw mounts on my Scorpa rear fender because I was afraid the screws would rip out in a fall. I see one guy is even trying magnets (be interesting to see how that works). Until then, here's a pretty easy fix to replace the screws, that let you use nylon zip ties to hold the rear fender on. I simply took a small "L" bracket I got at the hardware store and mounted it to the current theaded hole. I bent the top around the air filter box to keep it from spinning, then the hole in the fender and the new hole in the brakcet line up so you can use the zip ties. I like breaking the ties a lot better than breaking the fender!

Any one tried it. Thinking of buying 10 neonadium magnets. Size of 5 pence piece. Should be strong enough to hold my scorpa mudguard down. Don't like the 3 bolt down design on it now.

Been doing some jetting to see if I can help end the stalled engine 5's. I've never really ran it full throttle before to check the main jet spark plug color, but have noticed the revs go a little flat right at the top, as if there is a rev limiter. Tried rich, tried lean and it doesn't make any difference. Bike runs great, gut goes flat right at the top of the R's. Anyone expereinced this? Now I'm wondering if other makes have a rev limiter?

Hi, Ive only just got into trials really but im changing from a 96 Beta Techno to a 2003 Scorpa 250. I bought it today and had trouble dating it from the low res pics (http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/45172-can-someone-date-this-bike/). Im almost sure its a 2003 but i think its led a hard life. Someone has butchered a paint job onto the plastics. The engine ran ok (bit tappety but i think normal) and the lad admitted it had leaked water into the oil but he said it was the pump seal and it had been replaced. I think the oil still looked a little off so i will drop it and put in some ATF for a little bit. There are a few things that need sorting before i use it re…

Hi All, I have removed the petrol tank on my Scorpa SY250F to replace the radiator coolant and I am now having problems with the throttle cable and the revs sticking on when I turn the handlebars from left to right or sit down on the seat. I have tried various different positions with no joy. Does anyone have any ideas on the exact route of the cable if looking at the bike from sitting on the seat. The cable looks to be in new condition and also a bit short. I have matched the cable with a new one and it is exactly the same. Help required please.

hi anyone know how to adjust the play in the rear brake or these bikes? i had the caliper off and everything is moving ok but the brake is not coming on fully to lock the back wheel. it feel like the foot pedal is bottoming out where the adjuster rod is on the brake pedal. online manual says it should be adjusted by slacking the lock nut and shorten or lenghten the rod, but i cant see how it is adjusted as it just looks like a locknut on a threaded rod, but how do i adjust the rod. its pretty hard to get to also as the diagram shows just adjust the rod but the adjustment end goes ito a rubber cover and then it is some kind of valve that takes the brake fluid clear a…

Hi all, am looking at buying a Scorpa 125 4t, and have been offered two different versions of what I assume to be much the same thing. One is shown as a SY125, the other as a TYS125, anybody know whether there is much difference between them, possibly year of manufacture? Thanks for any help given. Dave

I've been riding my 2002 SY250 for ~2.5 years now and it has always seemed a little on the loud side. It seems like it has gotten progressively worse but I haven't really paid it much attention. The silencer has never been apart and probably has no packing left. Doing a little digging about how to deal with that today, I learned of the somewhat common issue with the mid-box splitting. I took a look tonight and sure enough it is split at the rear, just above the seam. I don't think this is the "normal" place but it will be an easy fix. It's a small split so I'm curious to see how much of a difference it will make in sound and/or performance when fixed. Does the mid-box co…

Hi, The middle exhaust box has a slight crack in it down the left hand side (its not in the usual place right at the bottom of the middle box) , i dont think its blowing through it, it almost looks like its been wacked rather than split due to weakness. i have been advised it needs repairing before i ride it again. I take it i need to take it to an ally welder, do i have to take the whole unit off? if so is it very difficult and will i need to replace any seals or anything? I will try to upload a pic later. Thanks guys! Also the clutch is dragging (Edit) the smallest bit, but its making everyone who rides my bike stall it, is there a checklist or something i can go …
