I bought a 150 last week to play with and after reading about the flywheel mod, I decided that I'd try it myself. I didn't lighten it as much as some people say you should in case I lost some of the bottom end grunt, but wow, what a difference it's made! When I get my hands on a spare flywheel, I'll fire up the Myford again and go the full monty.

hi all i seem to have the choke stuck on the bike....i took the cable of at the top of the carb and the spring is ok but it looks like the choke is stuck in the up (on) position as i take it the spring should push it down once the choke lever cable is released? so looks like the choke slider seems to be stuck to the sides of the carb anybody else had trouble with this and any ideas how i could free it without damage.? cheers for any ideas

OK, I used to have trials bikes. I had a Beta 4T long ride and loved it. Fantastic on the tight single track. But I sold it and went total enduro - 350 4T. I like the enduros but I am still hankering to have a trial bike for really technical stuff. Tight PWN wooded routes or slick rock type stuff in Moab. Anyways, I thought I could buy an older used trials bike, but what I can get for $2500 is really worn out crap. So... I thought: why not get a bike that my wife can ride, and then I can use it when I wanna do technical stuff? I could sell her Honda CRF150F (the "friendly" air cooled bike) and use that money to buy an OSSA Explorer or one of the little air cooled…

Here is the damage I am seeing on the center exhaust of my new to me 2006 SY250, it is a pyramid shape from the corner of the engine number block. With the tip just puncturing it, I also hear that some weld cracks but I cannot see any signs of that I wonder if there should be any reinforcement of a particular weld when I am getting the puncture taken care of? and culprit, Red points to corner and I am wondering if the piece of coolant pipe (yellow arrow) placed there is stock or if it maybe was put there in reaction to this issue, I think it may even make it worse by pushing the midpipe onto the corner: So now the question is how much of that corner should I be ta…

Does anyone know the size off the exhaust gasket (diameter) that is used in an 2006 sy 250 engine? I need a new gasket between the barrel and the front pipe, but i'm having trouble finding the right one. The only partnumber i have is from Scorpa, 3PA-14613-10, and the Scorpa importer can't get parts for the moddels pre 2010 overhere in Holland. Maybe someone can tell me the partsnumber from Yamaha? Thanks a million!

whilst the carb was off my 07 scorpa the rear brake reservior was put in the correct place via the bracket on the carb (previously it was zip tied on a pipe) anyway the reservoir wasn't that full & as it was now at an angle after riding last Saturday the pressure on the pedal went, my fault I know so I've back bled brakes & clutches using a syringe & hose many times on previous bikes, Montesa & KTM with no problems but can't get it right after 3 hours trying tonight! about 6 months ago I changed the rear brake pads, refitted the rear wheel & back bled the rear brake via the bleed nipple in no time at all so I'm at a loss this is what I've tried so …

Just purchased a 2007 Scorpa 125 trials bike and what a blast to ride! Can some one tell me the status of these little thumpers. Are parts still available or even what parts may cross over from other brands. I understand the engine is a TTR 125, but curious about other stuff like wheels and plastics. Once again, so much fun to ride. sam

Due to ethanol in the gas I needed to clean out the petcock as the On was partially blocked (still flowed well) and the Reserve was almost fully blocked with very little flow. Once I finished cleaning out the ports, it seems the way it goes together would not provide such a good seal. Can I get confirmation on the ordering of the parts, especially the wavy metal washer against the orange seal. I have it laid out the way I think, such that it would fit together from left on bottom to right on the top.

I've just bought a 2007 SY 250 and it seems to handle weird, when i ride my mates 2005 Gas Gas i can balance and hop around on the spot but when i try on mine the forks seem to absorb all my effort and its difficult to get the front wheel off the ground. The forks don't seem to have any damping; they rebound real quick with no oil sound. i tried adjusting the rebound knob on the right leg but it just turns and turns (infinite number of clicks), i dropped the oil and plan replacing with fresh. Any ideas what this could be? there seemed to be plenty of oil although i didn't measure it. Also the engine makes a bit of a harmonic whining type noise.... Other than this i like…

I have just bought a 2006 Scorpa SY250, the user manual does not indicate a type of filter oil, let alone that any should be used. All that I have found about the filter maintenance in the manual is: >Defective air filter elemnet must be replaced. >Clean air filter element with solvent. Remove remaining solvent by squeezing the element. Apply >lithium soap base grease on the matching surface (A). >NB : If the air filter box is dirty, clean it before. I come from trail riding and you absolutely must oil the air filter well to protect the engine from dust, so the question is for the SY250 do I really only apply the lithium grease to the mating surface? Or …

I recently got a 2005 sy250 and it has some issues. The clutch seemed like it was slipping bad and the lever felt like it would hit a notch whenever it was pulled all the way in to the bar. I figured I would change the master cylinder and the plates. The new master cyclinder feels the same and the clutch won't engage. If the bike is on the stand the wheel spins and it shifts normal but as soon as a load is placed on the wheel t acts like the clutch is slipping.. Could it be the slave cylinder is bad ? I haven't looked at that yet and it's not easily accessible.

Hi there, Ive got an 07 scorpa sy250 and wondered if I could do a few things to help with throttle response and pick up. Its no way near a gasgas or sherco of similar age and although I'm not expecting miracles it would be nicer to get it a little sharper. Ive already advanced the ign. but have looked at three possible options: Keihin flat slide (if it fits???) Reeds Lightening flywheel (no idea by how much??) Any help appreciated thanks

Hi, I have a somewhat worn out 2006 model SY250 and am looking to update to something a little newer and in better condition. I love the build quality and looks of the Scorpa, so am thinking of getting another one. I read somewhere that Scorpa shifted to another engine after 2009, so it's a 2009 model i think i'll go for. I have some questions though: Can anyone tell me the difference between my 2006 model and a 2009 model? Suspension, frame, engine, performance differences etc? Would i be able to keep my battered 2006 model for spares if i update to a 2009 model, or are there too many differences for parts to be interchanged? And does anyone know of a 2009 SY250R ow…
