https://www.dropbox.com/s/x0xyqm3n5nagy5r/2014-07-22%2015.05.09.mp4 Do you know what the fault could be? There is about 3mm of end play (0mm when the sprocket is attached). There is little to no noise when the shaft is pulled all the way out but once it is pushed in, the noise you can hear is what you hear in the video. When riding the bike there is no clicking until you're above about 15mph and the noise is only there when the throttle is open. Please tell me it's not an expensive problem!

Hi everyone thought i would increase the power of my Scorpa SY250 2002 by fitting carbon reeds was wondering if anyone had done this improvement, built the bike back up but it wont idel and takes a few kicks to start then cuts off was wondering if you have to upgrade the pilot jets in the carb or is it a case of messing about with the air screw, was wondering if anyone knows what the set up with the carb is, i'm not that mechanically minded all help would be appreciated.

I have been riding my 2006 Scorpa SY250r and getting some dribble out the overflow. I suspect it is either simple a bad radiator cap or head gasket leak. The fan is turning on, the fins are clean, and the coolant level is only just above the fins. Every ride it seems to let out maybe 15ml of fluid. Before I start replacing parts any test for what could be wrong? I I tried something very simple where I filled the overflow tube with coolant and then squeezed a radiator hose and it did push some of the coolant out of the overflow (presumably air escaping the radiator) which would seem to indicate the cap is bad? Here is the video: Is the cap specific to Scorpa SY250r o…

How can you tell the difference between a 2006, a 2007, and a 2008 sy250f ? Frame # ?, color of plastics may have been changed, exhaust outlets? sprocket # of teeth? Is the pumper carb on the 08 visually different than the 07? Any info appreciated. Thanks, Ken

My very minimal manual says nothing about how to check the chain tension. Also being new to trials bikes (and bikes with tensioners) I am not sure about the spec. Anybody have any word on how to best set this? I hear often a measure of the tensioner to swingarm distance is the spec. This is the bike on a stand: This is the bike on the ground:

I've still not got round to do any work on my poor scorpa. Disc floats still seized on, headstock bearings. God knows what else. I do change the oil frequently though with ATF. The clutch is stuck on for about 5 mins but after it's warm and a few flicks it unlocks and works if not a little snatchy. To prevent this should I strap the clutch up when not in use? Jon

I can't work out where it's coming from! The bike is a 2009 250 2t. The sound occurs roughly once per second and speeds up to roughly twice per second depending on the speed of the bike. It only happens when I am in gear and on the throttle. When I pull the clutch in it stops, when I coast in gear it stops. I've recently changed the gearbox oil and there was a fair amount of metallic particles. The bike is new to me so I don't know how the problem has developed. Any ideas?

Always fancied a scorpa, beta is soft powered and 200, will I see a big difference, the two have been likened in terms of power delivery, if it's similar then the scorpa it is.

Hi. Just bought a Scorpa 250 (04) and want to change the oil. The manual that came with the bike is a photocopy of one for a 4 stroke so is no use. I thought about measuring what comes out but that would be assuming it was at the correct level when I bought it. Anyone out there let me know the amount I need to put in to a drained engine (sat on a paddock stand)?

Also how do I adjust idle and mixture? Ie which screw does which! (is the larger screw the idle?) would help if i knew the model name haha and how easy are fairings to come by? Thanks

I though id upload some pics of my tatty 2001 SY before and through the re-furb . I purchased this bike cheap from ebay this summer after my last SY was stolen back in spring. It looked very tatty but sounded sweet and was all I could afford at the time. I have ridden in it in a few events through the summer and now while theres a break in the calendar I thought i'd pull it apart and get it looking a bit nicer and do a bit of routine maintenance at the same time. Parts changed: Wheel Bearings F+R Tyres F+R Fork Seals Air Filter Fitting Gas Gas Pro Side Stand Many rusty bolts for stainless I'm still in the process of changing the swing arm bearings, painting the c…

All, I have somewhat recently purchased a 2005 SY250 2T with a Yamaha engine and very little use. It has the original tires. They are in good shape but seem a bit hard. What a sweet bike and I wish I had tried one earlier. I had a 250F that I liked but this bike is far superior for me. So I would like to replace the rear fender or mudgaurd, but I have been told that they are no longer available and the "New Scorpa" owners will not support the older models with parts. Is there a preferred source for Scorpa parts that may be able to supply items that are also willing to ship to the US? What do the Scorpa/Yamaha faithful know about this situation? My bike has a whit…
