hi all just dropped the oil on my 07 2t Scorpa & as the drain plug (17mm) came out so did some of the thread from the drain plug hole in the engine tried a few things with no luck but when I've taken the brass washer off the drain plug I can get it to tighten in the hole but don't want to over tighten again fired the bike up & it seems to be holding but I don't want to risk dumping the oil whilst riding so what's the best option? do I put an helicoil insert in & if so does anyone recommend one or do I drill & tap the existing hole up a size or 2 & fit a new drain plug & again does anyone recommend anything for both options I guess I…

Hi all, Im in the market for my first proper trials bike and i really like the idea of the little fourstroke scorpas They appeal mainly as i want something reliable that can ideally also do double duty for some slow trail riding/green lanes. The simplicity of them also really appeals to me. Another big factor for me is noise, im fortunate enough to have a couple acres of garden and would love to practice out there, but not if it annoys everyone in the area! I was wondering how this sounds to any owners of the little scorpas out there? How noisy are these bikes compared to 2t trials machines? I was also wondering how much i should be concerned about the…

Hi all, brought a 06 sy250. Runs sweet but is sluggish when opening throttle up hills, has a slow action throttle and a adjuster near the throttle housing, maybe wrong cable? Also has anybody heat wrapped the header pipe? Burnt my wrist on the pipe as I tried finding neutral with my hand. Cheers

Basically because getting the Bike to World rounds without any Support would be a non-starter. Shame really. Billy has spent a lot of time getting that OSSA right

New to trials, new to trials bikes, new to sprung loaded chain tensioners. With the bike on a stand, rear wheel off the ground, 1st gear engaged and engine ticking over (to lube the chain) I noticed, what to me, seems like too much up-down movement of the sprung loaded chain tensioner. Should it jump up and down wildly like a 70's head banger's head? If not, how do I stop it? The chain is well lubed and without any apparent tight spots. New spring? new pad? new chain? or is it something to do with engine pulses? Appreciate your opinions / help. Regards Oh, the bike is an SY250 2T

So the Mrs is dead set on blue hoses. About three years ago I had to rescue her on this bike when we borrowed it for one of her trips to the US. The S shaped hose was hit at the pump and didn't make it down the creek bed. Well fast forward and she bought the bike last year. I have spent a better part of the winter trying to make it right. Well one thing that we were struggling with was silicone hoses. Not to be out done with not finding anything here or abroad I think i found an alternative. In college i was a frequent customer to Pegasus racing here in the states. They have all sorts of generic silicone hoses from Samco and the like. Not too bad either. Most of the …

Obviously not, but what is the second one? Just bought a 2005 SY250. Never had a trials bike before so If a search doesn't reveal an answer I apologise in advance for what might seem obvious to the more experienced.

Hi, my first post on site, so please be gentle with me! Picked up a SY250 (Yamaha Engine model) recently, would like so help trying to work out it's model year. It has a blue frame & tank etc. Exhaust sounds quite noisy, suspect baffles have gone in the rear silencer. Is it possible to get a replacement or non standard rear silencer. Thank you for any responses. Mark
