Hi everyone! Having some problems with my 06 Scorpa SY250. During a riding session, I wheelied the bike out on a steep hill section causing it to land hard on the right handle bar twisting the throttle cable completely around the handlebar. Prior to realizing that the cable was out of place, the bike was started, initiating an out of control idle climb that ended in a very loud backfire when the fuel line was closed because the kill-switch would not cut it off. Once the cable was returned to its original position, the bike started and ran, however it had extremely poor throttle response. So my thought was to change out the throttle cable, which in turn did not c…

  5. New bike and wow how good is it ( ability of the bike is far higher than the operator!). Decided I wanted to monitor engine temperature and keep track of my engine hours, fussy. Trail Tech temp gauge left over from my KTM 500 exf with the radiator fin option (10mm) so considering the radiator fins are no where near this, used JB weld to glue the sender into position on the radiator header tank at coolant level. Several options for the temperature sender are available. Fan comes on at 61 degrees C, max temp the other day was 73 degrees C plodding around in ambient 25 degrees C, wonder what it goes up to on our 43 degrees C days we had 2 months ago. Good guide to see wh…

When I got this SY, there was evidence of the previous owner burning traces of riding gear onto the exhaust headpipe. During my informal dismantle and reassembly, I scrubbed that headpipe to remove all traces of burnt on gear, oil spooge stains and carbon builup at the headpipe slip joint into the exhaust mid box. After several hours of riding the SY, it was apparent that even I was leaving burnt riding gear traces onto the headpipe. Being frugal, I waited on some leftover high temp epoxy, then rounded up some scraps of carbon cloth. In a short bit of time, I fabricated my copycat heatshield. Mounting is simple, two high temp silicone bands between the ca…

Hi everyone! I've completely stripped the carb on my SY250 to give it a good clean. However, since coming in from the garage to eat tea, put small dude to bed etc. I can't remember how the needle/ throttle slide assembly goes back together. There's a small washer with a tab/tang on it, does this go underneath the needle clip (between circlip and throttle slide) or on top of the needle clip (between circlip and retaining plate assembly)? Hope this makes sense and that someone can help!
