Hello I have a SY250 2005 and every couple of months it will just go dead and will not start again until I change the spark plug. I am using an 80 to 1 mix two stroke mix, I have started to use the NGK Iridium plugs and they last a little longer but not much. Yesterday morning I started first Kick as usual was riding about an hour and a half practicing hill climbs so I was doing a lot with clutch and throttle but nothing more then should be expected from the bike, anyway half way up a particularly tough hill the bike stopped, so I had to turn it and free wheel back down. Just to answer the obvious before we start. Yes there was plenty of petrol in it. No it did not o…

I recently bought a 2015 Scorpa twenty 300...in theory. Vin#VMUSR30TRFA000819. I have tried vin number decoding sites and they come back as "invalid vin". Can someone help me figure it out? Pic below.

I may be able to buy 2002 Scorpa sy250 (yamaha two stroke engine) (beginners bike for me) for sale but it has a badly dragging clutch. I checked online for new friction and steel plates and it looks like £180 Is that in the normal price range? a slave cylinder if also needed would add even more. I realise I may be able to sort it by cleaning and working on the plain steel plates but if not..maybe not worth doing. Can anyone say what is the average price range of a complete and running machine in reasonable condition? Regards

I have a 2013 Scorpa TY125 - that's the E-start Trials bike version. The battery never seems to charge while in the bike so I have to remove it and put it back in the bike. Then it starts the bike for about an hour and then has to be recharged outside the bike. I put in a new battery but that doesn't change the problem.

Hi, There is a small amount of play between the fork clamp and the front wheel spindle. Even when the locking bolt is fully tight there is still a bit of movement, I'm pretty sure it should be tight. Is there a fix or should I get a new spindle ? Tech 3 forks so I don't want to grind the slit a bit wider so they will clamp tighter. Thanks in advance

So bought my sy250 a few days ago, and had a few issues, to be honest the guy said he had been using it, but I very much doubt it! It looked the part and frankly I was too excited so bought it, lol, so over the past couple of days, hydraulic clutch sorted now, exhaust in the process of being sorted, got a list of bits on order to bring it back to its former glory and ready to go play. So today put it back together today, fired it up for the second time as I was thinking of going out for a spin, but thought I'd double check the fan was working! And guess what it's NOT, the wiring is a right mess but when I was stripping cleaning and greasing everything, I thought I'd leav…

I have a 2015 Scorpa twenty 300 that has started leaking at the fork seal. No biggie, they are probably the seals installed at the factory. What weight of fork oil should I use and how much oil goes in each leg?

I'm still going back and forth between early 2000 water cooled bike to a vintage air cooled bike. The main reason is lack of inventory (or not inventory at all) where I live. There is currently water cooled one for sale in my area. List says 1998 Scorpa Sr250. I'm guessing it's SY? because I didn't see any indication for Sr.. bike seems pretty "tired" and priced $1800 Is it a recommend model for a newbie? any known issues? are parts easy to source in the US? Any advice would be appreciate.

Hi Folks My son's SY250 needs a new carb as someone has butchered the internals of the original one! (They've broken the float mount on the carb base and bent the float pin at the same time! = NOT ME I might add! and in addition the floats themselves are starting to break up) Anyhow, searching various sites such as Ebay and Trials and tribulations etc is proving frustrating as I can't find any replacement for the TK carb. Is there another source for a carb or does anyone know what else will fit these 2003 models? Thanks in advance Shaun.

  17. G'day all, I'm a complete beginner to trials. Very keen to get a bike and learn. Not to compete at this stage, but to develop better off road handling skills. I have an adventure bike and I spend too much time picking it up 😂 I am planning to look at an early 2000s Scorpa SY250 tomorrow. It's been stored for quite a while but looks quite tidy. Aside from the generic used bike checks I wondered if anyone on here might have some specific SY knowledge and be able to point me towards common issues I should be on the lookout for? Maybe trials bike specific things I should check out? Any information would be very much appreciated! Very keen to hop onboard. …

Any cheats for making these lighter? It's a 2017 125 . The clutch is newish with a 1mm pressure plate instead of the 1.5 mm I think, anyway it's got the thinner plate already . Being Scottish I don't want to replace the clutch. Running synthetic ATF if it makes any difference. Cheers. .

  19. Hi there, just wondering if anyone might have any suggestions that I might try to resolve my issue. the bike is a 2015 Scorpa 300 twenty model. I bought it earlier this year and have had a few issues, so I will list what I have changed so far trying to sort the bike. It s running a keihin carb. crank seals replaced, Reed valves and inlet block changed, new barrel and piston as it seized, new CDI, I also have set carb float height and tried a no3 slide, but it’s back on the standard 3.5 slide. It’s currently running a 128 main jet. The bike runs fine at low revs, but if you try to open it up say in a hill climb or over the moor then it runs poorly and starts p…
