I attached a 12v battery to a blue wire that seems to go up towards the rectifier, under the tank, and the fan works fine. But when l connect the 2 wires from the thermostat together, it does not work? With engine running, and revved up. Could it be the stater not working? or could it be the rectifier? Any pointers how to check what bit's working, l do have a volt meter. Many Thanks John

Just brought a Scorpa 250 easy 1997 Have done one trial on it, and found the brakes a bit to be desired, they are working , but no real bite or feel, pads look good with a fair bit of meat on them. The levers give a solid feel, but a dead feel, so are not spongy. Seen on line EBC or sintered pads and others all different prices, which are the best to get? Any Thoughts appreciated. TIA

SY250r, has anyone made a compression release to let the engine be started easier. When I say made, some of the vintage open class MX machines came from the factory with a small hole drilled above the exhaust port. This bled off a portion of the compression pressure while kickstarting, but was a non issue while the engine was running. Granted the TY250Z engine used in the Scorpa starts pretty easily, but certainly has a bit of compression to kick through.

I recently bought a road legal SY250 and love it! I had just embarked on a bit of green laning/trail riding and had come across some really tricky bits, I guess they would be classed as "technical" and needless to say, my Suzuki DRZ 400 and I ended up in a series of crumpled heaps all over Wales and the Lake District..... The Scorpa is half the weight of the DRZ and rides like a mountain goat in comparison...such fun and made the most difficult (for me) bits look like child's play! What a wonderful design a trials bike is. Even on the road it was perfectly well mannered and top gear seems to be very tall so cruising at 45mph was quite pleasant (ish!). Fuel c…

Hi all, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Recently bought a 2002 SY250 for me to use while my son gets to grips with trials on my Sherco. First outing, it ran great from cold for about 20 mins or so, but when hot and under load, loses power and gets progressively worse until it cuts our almost like it has run out of petrol. Removed the carb and had it cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and set up, so i know the carb is ok. Out again at the weekend and still exactly the same problem. As i mentioned, it only happens when really hot and under load when climbing hills etc. Any pointers on what to look at next? Coil or HT lead breaking down under load, fuel s…

Hi there iv got a scorpa 175 4 stroke nice fun but iv been having problems with it. If I take it all apart down to the carb block the carb and she will start only for a couple of seconds iv had the carb off and cleaned out. Iv even blocked the carb with tape and put a few holes on it and she will burst into life a couple of revs and just dies before she would stay running when j went to give her a wee Rev to hop over a ditch and soon as I was giving it throttle she would want to died. Am fighting with my dad he says it’s fuel and I think it’s a new piston and rings. If anyone can help please either write on here or email me at kevmac1989@gmail.com plz thanks

Hi all, my first post... I have bought an SY250 of 2003 vintage and it has had a fairly major overhaul... easy to work on, if a bit fiddly at times! Most jobs have been ok but I am a bit stuck with the clutch hydraulic system... it was filthy and I need to replace all of the fluid... I have been told that the clutch fluid may be "mineral oil" not the usual DOT 4 stuff...can anyone confirm this before I use the wrong fluid please? Thanks in advance.. ps I love the bike... the last 2 stroke I owned was 40 years ago!

Anyone know where Sherco/Scorpa is sourcing the 125 4T motor for this bike? I saw a print ad and a vid of Nigel Birkett riding it , and am interested in one for my wife.

Hi Guys. Just a bit of advice needed please on the 'Scorpa 300 Factory'. Just sold a 2017 Repsol Mont, great bike but it liked to be bossed about otherwise it bossed me. Going back to a 2 stroke for lightness and manners. Bad back catching up with me! Not ridden the new Scorpa or any Scorpa for that matter, but I have been offered a 2018 Factory 300 demo. How do they handle and what is the turning circle like? Whats the engine power like. Balance etc? Did have a few modern Sherco 305's 2013's and found the engines not to powerful and quite pleasant. Did good in the results on them as well. People seem to like the Scorpa's, but not the Sherco's. Go figure! Any feed back wo…

The purple clicker for the high speed compression setting on the Reiger rear suspension is awkward to get to. Lashed out and the genuine article, makes it a lot easier.

Unlike its name, nothing is easy with this bike. Son asked me a month ago to rewire some ratty wiring. From the stator to the voltage regulator to coil. Now machine has no spark. Any one have a schematic or a picture they could post. I've tried looking it up online but with little headway. Also where would one find a rear master? Online, I cant seem to find the exact same one...

Hi! I have a ´17 Scorpa SC 300 factory. Recently, a rattling sound appeared while stationary, and it goes away once I release the clutch enough that the real wheel starts to pull. It's definitely coming from the clutch/tranny area, any ideas? Is the basket worn out so the plates rattle just a bit and create that noise?

Hi I'm looking at a 2016 Scorpa Twenty 300 and by looking at pictures of it it seems to have a switch in front of the tank, is that a map change, or what? If so are the modes on it dry and rain or something else? Also if one of the settings is rain, does it take much of the power away? Are there any other CDIs available that could add more maps to it/more power? Weird questions, I know but all answers are appreciated. Cheers

Hi! I'm thinking about buying a Scorpa sr 300 2011 and I was wondering if 1. the bike is a 300cc, because from Scorpas website I only found that in 2011 there were only 125cc and 280cc bikes. 2. parts are easy to get? 3. Does it use the same engine as any other bike or does Scorpa have it's own? 4. any additional info about the mark or bike is also greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I read the recent post from @barfbrianreed62 about his Scorpa not idlling properly and I'm going to have a closer look at the bike tonight, but I thought I'd ask about possible areas to look at first. At the weekend my lads 125 Twenty started to not idle became inconstant when closing the throttle. It's done it a couple of times before and I've given the carb a good clean which has made it better. I'm beginning to wonder if it is hiding another problem, because this is becoming almost every trial. The air filter is washed every trial, including for this weekend. I've not changed the jetting and the mixture screw is at about 3/4 of a turn from being fully in. Are the …

Hello, Anyone have one of these fitted to their Scorpa? If so what does it sound like, does it improve engine performance and do you need to alter carburetion/jetting to suit etc. I appreciate the pipes from this Japanese company are pretty rare and somewhat expensive but would like some feedback if available. I know about the mods to the standard silencer but want to try and get info on the TOM'S item before I decide which way to go... Here's hoping )))
