Hi Lads, Just wondering if you could help. I'm looking for a fan rectifier for a Scorpa sy 250. Fan works directly from 12v battery and thermostat works fine. Hi all, just got my first trials bike . Need a little help/advice . This has probably already been asked so sorry , what fuel mix should I be using ? Also been out for a little play today and the bike will only start with choke even when hot, After its warmed up turning the choke off causes the bike the rev very high then cut out . If I leave choke on after about 15mins it wont tick over and bogs down a bit. any advice is appreciated cheers R

I’m planning on giving my scorpa sy a full engine rebuild for a project over winter, I have the crank out and planning on sending it away to get rebuilt but the only part I’m struggling to find is the crank pin that sits inside the big end bearing that’s pressed in, would anyone know of any alternatives from other bikes? Or anywhere that might still have any?

Hi Guys, I'm just about to pick up a pair of old Easys. One I believe to be a '96 the other a '98 there or thereabouts. I'll be using one to teach my son to ride then going out together to go some very easy routes for fitness and memory making. No intention of ever competing. I road race, am a qualified aircraft engineer and have built quite a few classic race bikes over the years so quite looking forward to an old machine to be working on as well as riding. Other than the stators having the potential to be problematic, does anyone have anything to offer to put me off buying them? Cheers, Carl.

Hi guys, A good friend got this Scorpa T-Ride 250f with a missing carburettor. Seems like the WR250 carb doesn't fit. Any idea on what model fits, or where I could source one? Thanks

Hiya, I have a 1997 250 Scorpa with a weak intermittent spark. From what can gather the stator on these motors is a weak point. I'm getting readings of 200ohm between the white wire and earth and 789ohm between the red wire and earth, trouble is I don't know what the readings are supposed to be. Can some kind soul please tell me the correct readings? Thanks.

I just bought a 98 Scorpa but it came wih absolutely no infomation . . I've searched the 'net' for a manual on the bike and the Rotax engine . but haven't found anything . .Does anyone have a spare copy or know where I can get one . . and do they have any useful service information to help me do maintenance??? Recently purchased an '02 SY250 with a view to registering it with DVLA. Nigel Birkett are the usual go-to for dating information, BUT as my bike pre-dates their association with Scorpa they're unable to provide the necessary paperwork (they were super helpful and responsive, by the way). Anyone able to point me in the right direction... I've contacted Scorpa, France - no response! TIA.

Can anyone tell me if the 2001 scorpa easy 250cc 2 stroke has a Rotax engine or a yamaha engine. I know the clutch is rotax as i had to dismantle it to free it off (probably due to being parked up for some time). The engine casing has SCORPA on it. TIA

Hi All, giving the 03 sy a once over, I found that there is alot of travel in the clutch arm before I would feel the pushrod connecting with the clutch plate, I have removed the ball bearing and pushrod and there seems to be enough wear on the pushrod ends, does anyone know what the actual spec for the length of the pushrod? Is it shared with any other yamy' engines?

Hi, I have a 2004 Scorpa SY250 (with Yamaha TYZ250 engine) and it keeps overheating. It takes a good run to get it to overheat but I know it's overheating because coolant is purged from the radiator cap overflow hose. And more recently it actually blew coolant out of the radiator and created a radiator leak. The fan also runs non stop, once it starts, even if the bike is kept moving. Things I've checked: - It has coolant, engine ice (proper stuff) - The water pump works - The fan comes on (so the fan itself and the thermostat is fine) - The radiator has flow, the coolant can go in the top and out the bottom so there are no blockages So it seems t…

I'm currently looking to buy my first trials bike in about 6 years (excepting bike trials that is). At the moment I'm really tempted by the SY250, but I'd quite like to read a few more opinions on them before I commit myself! Because I can't seem to find any, can anyone point me at any dependable reviews of the SY250? I know that a lot about choosing the right bike is personal preference, but hopefully a good review should provide me enough information to help me make up my own mind Any opinions on this bike as compared to the current crop of triallers would be appreciated as well. I’ve just rebuilt a sy250 engine and noticed the gear lever had a bit of play when clutch casing was fitted,I removed casing and it looks like the end of gear lever that fits onto the selector drum isn’t catching the selector properly,it’s moving up and down a fair bit,has anyone else encountered this?the gear lever is seated against the casing when pushed into position.

Kinda metallic rattle coming from my 2019 scorpa… anyone got any thoughts what it could be? Videos make it sound worse than it is but it’s still annoying. -I thought it might’ve been the chain, but don’t think it is now as I’ve put a new on and still the noise -doesn’t make the noise with clutch in freewheeling over rough ground -just had rear linkage and shock bushes replaced so i don’t think it’s that either A bit stumped on this one so any thoughts appreciated! I was riding a newer Scorpa 125 trials bike and it had a very long shifter on it. I had to put my heel on the foot pegs to shift it. Is that normal for a trials bike?

Just bought a 2005 SY 250. Is the cooling fan on all the time the engine is running or is it on a thermostatic control? How hot does it get before the fan cuts in? Any advice would be appreciated.
