OK ausy300pro, I took my lightened flywheel to the Post Office this afternoon to get it weighed. Result 1.53kg I know Nigel Birkett says the standard flywheel weighs 2.1kg, but I seem to remember mine (it came off a TTR125, paid £20 off fleebay) was 1.9kg. Anyway, all I am saying is don't go less than 1.53kg! I found that the hesitaion was more pronounced with the lightened flywheel (obvious really), but when I lightened mine, I hadn't got the carburation sorted to the extent that I have now. The reason I didn't want to sell mine was, now that my carburation is sorted I quite fancy having another go with it. The throttle response and acceleration off the bottom was qui…

Hello Guys need your Help my 2007 Scorpa I just got I drained the oil to change it and Notice it being a Milky colour I have read a thread on hear that it may be the water pump seal or the head gasket I have took the clutch case off impeller on first glace the Water pump seal looked ok But looking closer at it the centre bit had a small rip not sure if this would be the problem? the coolant was clean green. the bike I was told had been stood for some time. any help would be great cheers Bondy.

Hello folks...new member here and just getting into trials, wanted to say hi and thanks for all the excellent information, and what a great forum! I'm the proud new owner of a 2005 scorpa 125! Sweet bike and I just love it. It's got a 160cc kit already and in mint shape!...like 10 tanks is all the owner reckons he ran through it! It's never been re jetted so that is my first order of business. I'm also curious if there were different models or trims of the sy125/sy175. Mine is an sy I believe but it's got a minimal seat, headlight, tail light, and hydraulic clutch. I'm curious if there are any "must do" mods for these bikes? I see a rev box, cams, exhaust, and su…

I have read many references to SY250Rs that were modified by Birketts. Unfortunately, nowhere have I seen it posted what all these mods were. Does anyone know what mods were done, and if they could still be viable today or just not cost effective?

  11. Hiya gents and ladies, my bikes been running a right treat for a while now and can't complain at all but today I was in my local woods on broken down logs etc and all of a sudden no power ( revs and changes gear no problem but no go just revs ) all morning and afternoon it was running fine with plenty of power but then no poke?!? I've been very lucky with past bikes and had no problems at all and never had to do anything like this apart from normal maintenance, wondered what it could be? Clutch feels like once in gear and pulled off when putting throttle on and it revving its butt off it's just slipping any advice would be great thanks in advance. …

  14. Hi everyone, So, I bought a 2004 2T SY250. Soon figured out it needed a new piston and cylinder, then delved deeper and found out the crank was shot too. It was a bitch to start from the day I bought it, and it's exactly the same after I've rebuilt it. So, it's had the following: Crank rebuilt New piston, rings, bearing etc Cylinder re-plated New crank seals New main bearings New gaskets including Reed gasket Air filter has been cleaned and lightly oiled. Spark plug has been replaced with new. New kill switch has been fit Carb has been stripped to it's full and: All jets have been cleaned out (Jet…

As above, just picked one up a week ago. Anyway, I don't know a great deal about bikes - Cars are my thing. 1 - Front brake squeel is terrible, it's so loud and also the brake is not sharp when you pull it on. 2 - Clutch drag - When riding and i pull the clutch in I can still feel the bike wanting to pull forward. Are these common issues?
