Hello everyone and thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge. I have a 2003 SY that I recently bought. Everything was working fine. Last ride I put the bike in the garage. Didn't wash it. 10 days later I loaded it in the truck to try out my first trials event. Once at the event it was hard to start and would not idle with the choke off. I assumed a plugged pilot jet. Unfortunately I didn't grab my tools. Back home I go. I pulled the carb off and disassembled it on my workbench on top of a fresh paper towel. No dirt or debris anywhere. Pilot jet was completely clear. Mmmm. So I proceeded to tear the entire thing down and blew every orifice out with carb cl…

Too bad it's sitting in a crate in my buddy's garage and I don't get home for six more weeks! Forked out the cash for it and I've never seen it yet! He opened the top of the crate and says it sure is pretty. Offered to put it together and break it in for me. What a pal! A new bike in the box. Sure gives me something to look forward to though!

Does anyone have details/pictures of the mod to the vertical clutch rod (the one that the actuator arm attaches to) that helps to relieve the on/off effect of the clutch. I am sure that I have read about this as being one of the mods which most transform what is an excellent bike. My model is an SY 200F 163cc, Year: 2008. Any help or information would be much appreciated.

Can anyone help ? I'm rebuilding an SY 250 for a mate. It came more or less as a box of bits, so it's all guesswork ! - I've rebuilt the engine with the help of the excellent Yamaha manual and the chassis is mostly self explanatory. However, I'm struggling with routing everything correctly: throttle cable, clutch pipe, wires, and where to fix all the electric stuff like the cdi box. Squeezing everything in around that big motor there's no room for error. I've spent some time searching the web for information, but can't find anything. Does anyone know of a cable routing diagram ? Or even big digital photos (that would stay clear when zoomed in) of an SY 250 of similar age…

Hey there, I've just bought a scorpa 250 2007 and it seems to not rev properly past mid revs. It's almost like its very choked and boggy around the top and as a result there's no power there! It's had a new filter, cleaned carb out (without taking jets out admittedly), new plug and the air/fuel screw seems set right because the bike rides well at low throttle. All the breathers are clear (not sure on the tank breather but doubtful that it 's the issue) and fuel is flowing well to the carb. If anyone can shed some light on the situation please do! Thanks in advance Rob

Although i started riding trials years ago, im only just getting back into riding after a 5 year break for the sport. It was boxing day of last year when i went to watch my local Manchester 17s Boxing day trial that i decided that the bikes were to be cleaned of cobwebs and once again ridden. So in January this year, i dusted of my old mans 99 Gassa 250, and my brothers 03 Rev3 270 and took them out for a ride accompanied with my old man. After a half hour we were both knackered and heading home as the gassa was giving us problems. After a top end rebuild, the bike completly stripped, cleaned and plastics painted ( i work in a bodyshop) and new decals i had full confidenc…
