I am new to the Trial/Scorpa world. I need to do some maintenance to my, new-to-me, '07 Scorpa SY 250. My manual is lacking in the area of torque values for; triple-clamps, axle pinch bolts, headset, etc. I searched the Ryan Young website for general values, but came up empty. Does anyone have this information, or a viable link to the correct information? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. PS - Will regular industrial bearings work in the front wheel, or do I need to purchase "Scorpa" specific bearings?

HI to the Scorpa owners, I am considering buying a modern bike but (for some strange reason) I fancy one of the little four stroke Scorpas, question is would I be better holding out for a 175, and which 175 ??? apparently there are 143cc and 160cc 175,s so from experience I think the 125 would be underpowered so advice on which one to buy would be appreciated, and if anyone has one for sale let me know. one other thing, I have read somewhere that these bikes were also sold with different spec suspension some better than others or is that just heresay ? Thanks for any help.

Hiya there good folk .. I have just recently bought a Scorpa tys 125 f which is road legal and registered. Anyway I first used the bike on road and all was cool . But when pulling the front brake lever I feel it bouncing back in my hand . I went and washed the bike after a few off road sections around the area and spared WD 40 around the bike after I jet washed it . On the brakes as well , now when I went to pull away all was ok but stopping on the other hand was a problem :-) , the bouncing back of the lever disappeared I must say but the lack of brakes was no on the fore front of my mind , yesterday while riding the roads I heard like a slight grinding noise from the…

I currenty have an SY250 2007 and fancy a bit of change and am considering a 2011 model... Any comments most welcome.. Thanks

Yes, the little French mistress and I had a rendezvouz today, and boy was it dirty. I stole a few hours today to take out my new-to-me '07 SY250 out for a spin. I unloaded the bike and turned the gas on, as usual, and got dressed. When I attempted to start the bike - hydro-locked. The motor was filled with gas. Yeah...it was that good. So, I threw my gloves at the truck, uttered a whole bunch of choice words fit for the dirty little mistress that she is, and tore the bike down. There I was, carburetor torn apart on the tailgate of my truck, bike upside down draining fuel from the cylinder, in 90 degrees Ferhenheit. By God's grace I had some compressed air in a can, and a…

Hello! I'm new to this forum. Hopefully someone out there can help me we an issue I'm having. I just got a brand new 2012 Scorpa 280 Longride. Took it out yesterday and gave it a kick, started up no problem. idoled nice and ripped around on flat ground no problem. Then I went to go up a bit of an incline then the engine just BRRRRrrrrr......... dead. So I backed down to flat ground and tried to started it again and it would start up for a few seconds then BRRRRrrrrrr...... Sounds like its starving for fuel. I left it alone for the night. Called the dealer next morning and he told me that the blunger needle or somehting in the carb stuck on his the first time then was fin…

I don't mean to be so prolific here, but the choke plunger on my SY250 is an absolute bear to bring up into the choke position. It requires me crouched beside the bike, using both index fingers on either side of the button, and pulling up hard until, maybe, click, it goes, or not. Very difficult. First, I lubed it with some WD-40, which may have helped, a bit. Then I disassembled it, and cleaned it (with the rest of the carb ala tailgate - haha) which only made it worse. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Preparing my SY175f for a trial this morning, the bike 'blew over' in the wind and fell onto the left side, the gear lever took the blow and punctured the engine casing, end of day !! My problem now is findind a replacement casing & gasket, i know that it is a Yamaha TTR engine, but is this an import and are engine parts easily available ? I haven't have a great deal of joy in the past sourcing Scorpa parts. Other than Birketts, can anyone advise where else I can sort this problem ??

Ive a friend who runs a 2009 Scorpa 250 fitted with the Yamaha engine. Its a clean bike that doesnt look like its had much use. The problem is that It smokes a lot all of the time , low revs , high revs you name it. Im suspecting the crankcase oil seal on the right had deteriated. It does rev cleanly and is mixed on 80/1 silk sythetic. Is this a common problem on this engine? ***Can the seals be changed without an engine split ?*** Anything else peculiar to this engine look out for ? Ta in advance

The wiring for my 2007 SY 250 headlight was missing so after studying a wiring diagram for a couple of models I connected it up and at idle it is nice and bright but as I rev the motor the light fades?? Thats supposed to be the other way round, rev and it gets brighter. Its clearly a connection problem but Im not sure where. Any ideas?? Tx TCD

I've had an 07 SY250 for over two years now and recently the bite point of the clutch varies when the bike gets warm. When I do a slow speed circle, 1st gear, clutch out, on tick over the bike jerks forward each time the engine fires ' or at least that what it feels like' I know the gear oil needs replacing but is it worth stripping the clutch to check the friction plates first ? If the plates are worn would they give these symptoms ? Or could it be anything else I've overlooked cheers mike

Hi all, Can anyone tell me what size fuel hose to use for my 03 sy250...I removed mine and left it in work as there's a shop nearby that I forgot to visit and now I'm off for easter and can't be bothered driving the 12 miles to collect it. I want some new clear hose, filter and clips...what do you recommend. Cheers, Andy.
