Does anyone know which model and years of the 250 had the speedo on the left fork leg? I think it looks cool and my bike didn’t come with it but it has the drive with a plastic blank where the cable goes. It looks like some 1974 models did have it judging by photos. If I ever get my engine finished I’d like to have that feature

Can anyone out there please tell me where i can get a TY175 tank decal kit.I purchased one recently and it didn't suit the profile of the tank and i know the tank is original.

Has anyone ran a D803 on the back of a Ty175? Will the tubeless seat and stay on?

Hello every one! i'm new to the site and im goin to restore a yamaha ty 250 mono shock over the winter, the only problem is that i dont have a manual. im sure you come across this question alot but i would really apreciate your help. Does anybody know website where i could download one or even a shop that i can buy one from? Sam

sorry chaps but i want to try and save the original footrest mounts is there any oversized footpegs ie HEBO that will fit straight on to the above! without cutting/grinding/or welding anything? also orderd a alloy miller tailpipe for my yamaha framed 250 this had to have an 1"1/2 cut of the end and a 4" alloy bracket made up to bolt it on? but sounds and looks great! tried the 10/41 final gearing and its spot on the bike picks up and feels right now! ill proberly go for 11/45 just to save less stress on the front sprocket or wouldn't this make a lot of difference? also has anyone tried the uprated fork springs that b+j racing (usa) sell? cheers Nick.

Have a mono yam think the carb is worn out , what can i replace it with. Pref with some thing that fits straight on and makes it run like it should.

For Christmas I bought myself a TY175 but its in need of a bit of TLC. After reading through the forum I have found that the frame should be Vauxhall Sebring Silver but I connot find what colour the white tank should be. Can anyone offer any help please? If anyone has a rear brake pedal in good condition i'd also be interested.

Hi All, I'm rebuilding an old steed and what like some advice about the ignition. I tried a bike today with an electronic system,fitted about 3 years ago and found it a bit snappy almost like having a power band. It's true the system may have been set a tad advanced, on that I don't know. I didn't have a major problem with points, just wondering if I should invest a system before I replace the old. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks all

Steel Petrol tank wanted for TY mono.

After a few months of lurking on this forum, I've decided to get back into trials (30 yrs since my last one) and thought I build a TY175. Like a good shot gun, I like a nice fit on my bikes, and after seeing the comedy prices asked for yokes on the Net, I decided to modify my own. The lightweight yokes I've had CNC machined for my Buell track bike and Ducati 1198 didn't cost anything like the ones for the TY!

Hi there ......... I was glad to see a couple of posts on the site from last year regarding the Whitehawk TY models. A friend of mine (without internet access) has just got his son an 80cc version on approval, but is concerned about the lack of spares availability and suitable tyres. I was just wondering if anyone had managed to track down any sources or further info? Mick Whitlock of Hampshire and JK Hirst of Bradford were mentioned ........... were they ever tracked down and tested?? Dear members - any advice on this topic would be much appreciated I'm getting an inconsistent and weak spark on my TY250 R Mono. The manual says that the Source Coil Resistance should be 240 Ohms (+ or - 10%) I'm getting a reading of 177 Ohms which is outwith the tolerance level 1. Does a reading of 177 Ohms indicate a problem significant enough to impact starting / running 2. If yes - is replacing the source coil the only solution or is possible that I could repair it Have removed the flywheel cover and there is evidence of dampness and corrosion - so have dried it out and sprayed with WD40. Can anybody tell me if, and where its possible to buy front wheel " Z " type stainless spokes for a Mono. I seem to remember they were unobtainable, or perhaps just hard to find some time ago has the situation changed. Thanks

I lowered the pegs on this bike a while ago and was not happy with the amount of free travel for the standard brake pedal once it was adjusted downwards to suit the new footpeg height. I made a couple of experiments first to make sure the shape was going to be right and finished the final product today. I'm getting the bike ready for a friend to ride at our upcoming state Twinshock Titles.

Has anyone recently got a DEP silencer? I just noticed one listed at Sammy Miller products but they are "out of stock" I emailed DEP USA and asked as their website said "not available at this time" But I got no reply. I was curious whether they made their own or if it's a re-badged WES? It would be a DEPY2919.

due to the very cold conditions in my area, down to -8! what type of coolant and mixture is correct? is it ok to use the blue stuff you use in car engines as long as it is ok for aluminium?
