Does anybody have the specs for the standard Mini Majesty? eg Wheelbase, Ground clearence, seat height etc

I have just replaced all the wiring (not the coils) on my Cota and it is running nicely again. However I have always felt that the throttle response is just too sharp off the bottom - just the slightest incorrect movement on the right hand brake can induce a dangerous spurt ( I notice some gloves are more prone to causing this). I have read elsewhere of people fitting a slow response throttle on their TLRs - I can state categorically that the response on my Cota is way - way more than on my TLR with a standard throttle. I have ridden to a couple of MrB's Bultaco's and the smoothness of the power delivery is very noticeable. Does anyone have experience with fitting …

Hello, ive seen some guys with Wes silencers on their TY175 with carbon heatshields on them, any idea where i can get one? My inside leg is getting a bit too burnt now to be funny...! Thanks

The old boy I ride with tells me the idle mixture adjuster screw is an air screw on this Amal...yet I've always thought if the screw is engine side of the slide, it must be a fuel screw? So who is correct? Fuel screw...wind out for more fuel Air screw...wind out for more air Bike is a Montesa 247C 1978 but an Amal is an Amal I guess? cheers guys

Wonder if any of you have any helpful suggestions? The rebuild on the old 349 Cota is progressing slowly, too slowly to br honest as i would never have guessed parts would be so hard to come by when i started. Still we live and learn. Time came on Sunday to see if the rebuilt engine would start. You know the routine. Fit tank, fit all new pipes, fill with fuel, get ready to kick the thing into life (hopefully),turn petrol on, press choke. Notice strong smell of fuel, get wet foot, panic!!!!! Take off tank, drain tank, curse profusely all because the b****y petrol taps k*******d and p*****g fuel every where. So does anybody have or know the whareabouts of a new fuel tap to…

Just got back from a window shopping trip at my local bike shop. They had an EZ Pull clutch accessory marketed by Moose. I didn't see any instructions on the packaging (or in the package for that matter). My TY175 could use all the help in the clutch dept. and I was wondering if anybody out there has seen such a device installed or heard anything about them.

Hi there. Has anybody sucssefully re-packed the silencer on their two stroke ? Is it possible to over pack it and so reduce the breathing of the exhaust? What is the best material to use? Where can I get some? Any hints or tips on this matter would be appreciated. The end of the back box IS detachable Thanks Frank

Has any one on here had a juddering clutch problem on a Seeley? I know a common mod on TLRs is to fit CR80 plates and springs, is it the same on a Seeley? Or is there another mod? Also what is usable for the swingarm main bolt? as I noticed a mates bike had the wrong one in at a trial on sunday. Has any one found an alternative, or had one made? Thanks in advance

I've noticed quite a few MAR Ossas have had a weld repair to the ignition cover which seems to run diagonaly from near the rear top scrw down to just above the rear brake pedal. Mine has also. Why is this? Is it a weak point? Can you do anything? Dont seem to remember a problem in the early 70's Also seem to remember everybody cut them back as much as possible to help with cleaning and chain maintenance. So why do so many show signs of being welded?

Just thought I would share a couple of pic's of our Ossa TR 350 in action at the Ebacorum Charity Twinshock 2 Day Trial, a superb event, well organised and a really friendly crowd. The Bike was road by my Son Scott it was his first on a Twinshock and he had a wide grin on his face the whole way round, The bike performed well apart from running Rich which we traced to a leaking float, "Thanks again to this forum for the advice" And most important No Scratches or Dents !!! Hi all Seriously thinking of getting into actually riding my twinshocks again instead of just collecting. In in the Poole area, and just wondered which clubs are still offering something suitable for my old mounts and older bones! I spoke to Annie Chandler last night as I was a good pal of Geoff's and Sotton Vikings no longer run any events. I've obviously been out of this far too long and have no idea where all these years have gone. Next dilemma will be which bike to ride, but I'm sure I'll find a favourate. Wayne....

hi My Sherpa is fitted with an RL stator plate and flywheel (not sure what coil / ignition is though) I find that the bike is playing up when hot (similar to when timing is out or when starving for fuel) the bike runs fine for about 15 - 20 minutes. Bike starts first kick always, hot or cold. Could this be a fault in the cdi system? thanks

I have made a couple of attempts to Falcon Shocks filled in their online inquiry forms no reply, I would phone but there phone contact is the middle of the night here in NZ. Has anyone had the same from out of the UK. They have an agent in OZ perhaps I need to go there?

Most twinshock trials bikes have non-parrellel triple clamps, with the forks kicked out about 1.5degrees more than the steering stem rake. Can anybody tell me what the advantage is of this set-up (over parrallel triples)? I've read that they're supposed to be better at/near full-lock, but I don't know if thats correct or why/why-not. Can anyone enlighten us?

TY175 Went into Acklams @ Harrogate (Beta & Yamaha) to pick up some New Yam parts that I'd ordered. I'd requested a brake lever arm for the rear wheel back plate (a 434 TY250 or TY175 part) The original item from 20 years ago was a heavy cast steel item, that corroded etc and weighed a proverbial ton in comparison to today's item. For the 21st Century Yamaha have produced an identically shaped offset rear brake lever in guess.........Cast ALUMINIUM. Beautifully crafted and shaped, plus in comparison to the crappy steel item.......it's a light as a feather. Why......... oh why didn't they make items like this in the heyday of Twinshock TY's.............if more …
