Morning everyone, I have ordered a set of NJB shocks for my TL250, and I have a question (put to me by NJB). What is the dimension of the mounting bolts (I believe 6mm), but also, what is the width of the flange where the bottom of the shock absorber slips into the swingarm? I can't find the answers in any of my manuals. Any assistance would be welcome. Sean Dell NYC

Hi Folks, I'm looking to rebuild the motor in my 1985 TLR250 I've just been to my local Honda dealer who was sorry to tell me that TLR250 Piston, Rings, Head and Base gaskets are No Longer Available for Honda. My bike had over 7,000km showing on the speedo when I got it 6 years ago. It was used to check fences on a farm & never used in Trials. I have been using it in several TwinShock Trials a year in Australia ever since, plus quite a few good trail rides with mates on 'Older' Trials bikes so she would be way past the 8,000km mark by now. Any idea's where I can source a Piston kit & required gaskets?? Mr Honda still has cam chains &a…

I have a twin disc model 1988 and above half throttle it runs rough/lacks power, was like this when I purchased. Runs really smooth below half throttle and ticks over like a Swiss watch but does not like starting with choke and appears to be running rich? Anyone had this problem ? Thinking the jetting maybe wrong, what jets are people using with the larger/later carb ? Any comments much appreciated

Hi, I've worn a hole in my silence and found a local guy who is able to weld a plate over the hole. He does custom garden furniture, gates, etc. I've seen some of his aluminium welding which looks good. He also said about making sure to use a aluminium-silicon rather than aluminium-magnesium filler for the best quality weld (doesn't mean that much to me). He said that if I get the aluminium sheet, because he doesn't have any that thin, he'll be able to weld it for me. Looking on the internet, there is so much choice but not sure what to get. What type of aluminium should I get and what thickness? I was thinking 6082 1.5mm thick, but heard that some types of…

Hi all. After many bultacos i have bought a 1983 honda tlr200 to use in twinshock events, taking a bit of time to get used to four stroke but a really nice bike to ride I have serviced, changed tyres etc.Now have stripped lights, speedo, indicators etc back to push connectors on wiring loom.I need to fit an engine stop lanyard for some events, is it simply a case of following two wires on original kill switch back to loom and connecting on replacement Jitsie etc at this point?. I would like to strip out old key/lights loom and simplify some time in future as strictly off road use now, anyone done this? got any pointers? Any help much appreciated, thanks, Stua…

OK, from looking at the abuse the tlr200 reflex owners get I'm ready to sling **** back ; Got one for free ( best part so don't go off whining buy something else), motors seized up will take apart and find out why some other time BUT in the interim Would an XR/XL/ATC 200/250 motor of earlier 80's vintage be a bolt up swap? Yes as a fab shop owner I know I can make anything fit so please don't go there, I'm just looking to get a beater running for when my trail-pig ( klr650) is getting married to a sidecar this spring Ive still got something to run around on and maybe teach the wife how to ride. Not looking to build a trials bike ( yes I can hear the whining already buy …

I've been trying to practice figure of eights on a TLR200 and especially in 2nd gear I find the power delivery very jerky, it's almost like the power is off or on, not at all smooth. It's better in 1st but not what I'd call pleasant, are other TLR's like this or is it the carb ( or just me )?
