Trials Transport

Hi Has Anyone tried to fit a Trials bike into a Transit Connect or VW Caddy Or is it a case of front wheel out / handlebars off Cheers

Hello folks, I'm after a small van. due to it's low price and simplicity, my number one choice is a citroen c15. But i'm unsure if a trials bike fits in the back. Has anybody had any experience with these or seen somebody using one for bike transport? I'm also considering a ford fiesta courier. Again, if anybody has seen one used for bike transport, then i'd love to know. Many thanks, losgamblos

Today i welded up a rack that holds the front wheel in place inside my VW transporter. Would like to see pictures of how you guys tie the bike to the floor please ! Transporter,Transit whatever i just need some ideas Tia,

Was about to get my Transit tested at the MOT Garage, and he said it would fail on chassis rust within 12 inches of a structural part... And he knocked a hole in it, to prove his point.. I have had some body panels done before, but can you get the chassis parts as well.? They are a complex shape, so don't want to start making them out of sheet steel, .

I'm considering buying an Ifor Williams BV84 (8' x 4' x 5' high) box trailer for transporting trials bikes. Has anybody got experience of using this size trailer? Is it possible to fit three full size trials bikes in? Cheers Scott

I am currently looking for a toyota mr2 mk2, I know that there is a towbar avaliable for it but would it be possible to fit a bike rack to it?

I travelled to Lancashire today, to collect a single bike trailer. Whilst chatting to the seller, he happened to mention that "My mate reckons his friend was nicked by the Police for towing a three bike trailer without a licence" I said "I'm aware that you have to have an extra test for towing now, because my neighbour [23 years of age], had one" "No", he said, "you can tow a single, or a double, on an ordinary licence, but there's something to do with a triple that's different" Now, I've had a motorcycle licence since 1961, and car since '65, [i think], but I've never heard of this one - anybody care to comment? Hi there... anyone got a Peugeot Partner Combi and using a Dave Cooper Rack? Just checked the S value (nose weight) on my towbar and it's 70kg. My Mont 315 and rack weigh in at about 80kg. Has anyone had any problems using this set up? Don't want to knacker the Partner!!! (Although the mounts etc seem very beefy) Just a shame the bike wont go inside....or has anyone got any words of wisdom to sort out this one either? Many thanks... Randyrat

Sorry for asking again, as I can see that there are many questions, answers and opinions about various vans, and car variants for transporting trials bikes. But before making a purchase, for clarity, do members on the forum reckon that a trials bike will fit inside a Peugeot Partner Tepee. (And not a WAV vehicle). The ones I am looking at are the shorter type wheelbase car type variant. Many thanks

Can anybody enlighten me as to a van that seats 3 in the front, will accommmodate 2/3 extra seats in the back or has crew-cab and will take 3+ bikes in the back, without going as big as the obvious LWB Sprinter/Iveco. My mate's got a Vauxhall Vivaro and it goes like a car, this is what i would ideally go for but it's not quite big enough. I need to park on my drive, and also dont fancy a big clumsy thing that gets stuck easily and 5's the car park before i even get my bike out. Cheers

I'm halfway through building a double quad trailer, it's pretty big. I'm gonna build a bolt on attachment to take the front wheels of a few trials bikes!!! with a squeeze i could probably fit about 7 trials bikes on it!!!! multi purpose is the way forward!!!!

Hi I am looking at getting a small can I am thinking of the Vauxhall combo cheap to run and buy! But I need to carry two bikes in it will I get two bikes in? I have read I can but can people please give me some advise before I spend my money? Thanks

Does anyone know whether the new Transit Custom DCIV ( double cab in van) LWB will take 2 trials bikes? I know the standard custom will but I need to the 5 seats. Any other general feedback, issues to be aware of? Thanks hughesy

Has anyone fitted a rack to an original shape (2003) Focus Hatchback? Dad's got a van that will fit 2 bikes or more, but I'm not insured on it and can't rely on him all the time, so I'm thinking a tow bar and rack's the best bet for just getting my own bike about. Hi all, Am looking (or a friend is) to find a van in UK for my eminent return..and baptism to UK trials....(look out...I'll be the one crashing alot) ANYWAY...he's sourced a Vauxhall Midi....1998 diesel, at what seems to be a fair deal..so I just wondered if anyone has any experience of these, good or bad, please let me know. both trials related use and any other advice/comments are greatly appreciated.

So, each time I try and strap the gas gas down to take it anywhere it ALWAYS seem to riggle loose of the ratchet straps, and slowly lowers itself onto it's side!!! How the hell are you suposed to strap a trials bike down for transport??? Cheers - matt.

Will a modern trials bike fit in a Suzuki Carry van? I don’t need a van for work or anything so don’t want anything huge on the drive but just something to ferry a bike around - max 35 miles away from home (but will also be MTBs and other sports stuff). My other option is a VW Caddy but don’t need to spend a huge amount for a bike carrier.
