Well, the Colmore is over for another year. The weather gave the organisers more than a few headaches before the event, with the full mixture of snow, ice rain, wing and sun making the sections much, much harder than Alan Wrights predicted

A Message from the Colmore Cup Clerk of the Course. The 2017 Colmore Cup Trial S3 is now very much alive and well! After multiple setbacks over the last 2 months the Stratford Upon Avon clubs February 12th spectacular now has a new start venue and some brilliant new land. Everything had been falling apart after the losses of DovedaleWoods and Saintbury Quarry, both of which had been used in many midland centre events for over half a century. Then out of the blue new land in the Chipping Campden area changed hands and the new owners were quickly persuaded by the sweet talking Stratford boys that a few bikes over it would do no harm at all . Then there…

The Colmore Cup on the 3rd March is almost fully subscribed, so anyone still thinking of entering this event should get their entries in quick. For riders who have entered, this is a 28 mile road trial. Please note the following: As part of the MSA approval process, the club has been requried to contact both the Gloucestershire Police and the West Mercia Police. The Police have asked us to confirm that all machines are fully road legal and properly insured! Please check your insurance to ensure that it does not exclude you from riding in trials... many policies do! If so, you can purchase basic road insurance on the day when you sign on. (certain restrictions apply.)…

For compettitors wishing to have a less testing ride around, there will be an Easy route marked at the hardest 50% of the sections. Pete

Anyone from colonial country know what the weather is going to be like up there on Sunday. The only time I have ridden it before was re year before last, when they had to run 2 laps of 20 on The first half of the trial. I will give them a call nearer the time if it's still looking dodgy. Just wondered if any locals Had any inside info? It's a long way to go to get stuck in the snow!

Having just emptied the van after a fine days trialing in Rosedale, it occured to me after reviewing the results board that there were a number of non starters for this hard to get in/reduced field event. Who and where are these people, I've got mates that did'nt get a ride who would have gladly passed over a days shopping with the wife at Teeside Park, if only they had let Keith know in time. Anyway, fantastic day out, really tough sections and the water levels were absurd at Rockhouse!!!! Thoughts anyone ?

Can't believe no one has commented on the ride of Alexz Wigg yesterday. Beating all bar James Dabill, not bad for a 125.

Berkhamsted MCC have been going for 100 years. To celebrate we are holding a weekend of trialling at Sam Haslam's spectacular practise ground in Buckinghamshire on 12th and 13th July. Riders from all centres are welcome. To spice things up a bit on the Saturday (12th July) we are organising a club team trial. Teams of three on the hard route. Come down and take on the South Midland centre club teams. Represent your club with pride. One of the Berkhamsted Teams has already started making their team shirts... Sections for the team event will range from normal club hard route to a few of reasonable Novogar severity. No sketchy frame bending steps but plenty of good …

I spoke to Doug McNaughton of the Perth and district MCC today to ask about entry forms for the trial advertised in the t&mx news for the Monday 24th July at Comrie near Perth. Doug has assured me that the trial is on the Tuesday night starting at 18:30, so there is a misprint in the t&mx news. Is anyone else going to the trial and has it been held there before, any good? Cheers.

Consett DMC have work well underway preparing for their first Wednesday evening trial to be held on 2nd July. Start is 6pm. The trial will have two courses easy and clubman, excellent parking facilities are behind The Knitsley Mill pub. Bluebell Wood (previously only used in the Spring Trial) will have 5 sections and a new venue in the woods surrounding the fishing lakes at Knitsley will also have 5 sections. Working closely with local landowners has enabled the trial to incorporate the two woods without the need to use the public road. The pub is open for a refreshing drink after the trial, all welcome!

On Saturday 17/10/2009 Consett DMC are running a trial at a new venue. The venue is East Hamburn, close to Hexham/Whitley Chapel. The post code for the venue is NE46 2LF. It will be clearly flagged from Whitley Chapel, there is very good parking avilable in a flat field. Consett club members have put in a lot of work clearing overgrown streams and gullies to make what promises to be a very good course. The trial starts at 12 Noon

At the Consett trial this Saturday (29th) at Butsfield we will be running a route for beginners or kids moving from conducted route. Known as the "purple route" (yes we have run out of colours !) it will be an eased version of the easy route. For those that know the Richmond club easy clubman trials which run a beginners route it will be run along the same principles. Hopefully we will get both kids and adults, we will split the results into the two classes. It is the ideal opportunity to give trials ago if you weren't sure if you could manage, and the ideal step up for those kids who are a bit too good for the conducted route and feel ready for 'the big course'! (to be…
