I'm currently working up in Durham and spend a lot of time in the Pity Me area of the city. When I was riding the Youth scene back in the glorious 80's I did quite a few meetings at a farm (?) in Pity Me and one thing that is still clear in my mind is the awful stench that came from a nearby Chicken farm/factory. The thing is I cant remember where the trials were held. I've spent hours driving round the place after work over the past few weeks trying to find any familiar landmarks but seeing as though we are going back 20 years I guess a lot of the area has changed. Can anyone tell me if any club is conforming to TSR8 (and NSC8a)? In the ACU handbook it states- "Trials Standing Regulation. (TSR8) Motorcycles. The supplementary regulations for each event shall indicate the Categories and Groups of machines eligible. Motorcycles must comply with Appendix B of the National Sporting Code and have independent brakes on both the front and rear wheels. Prior to the start of each trial all machines will be examined to ensure that they comply with ACU specifications." I have never had a machine inspected at any event, has anyone?

Last night at the Milton Keynes Council planning meeting, approval was given for the construction of a new Trials practice area. The land will be developed to "produce one of the best facillities in England" and it can be ridden by members of the Milton Buzzard MCC. Fair comment was made with residents fears of the noise issues paramount but at the vote the planning was granted 5 to 1. Long Live the Buzzards!!!!

US. Everyone keeps going on about the youth being the future of our sport and we should satisfy their needs, concerning the rules, stop or no stop. I disagree, it's not the youth that are the future, it's anyone new to the sport, or who comes back into it, what ever their age or sex. Having been going to France & Switzerland for last 18 years and as a result of seeing several hospitalisation crashes at the last event I decided to look into "proper insurance" to satisfy ACU & FIM affiliated clubs. what is the normal petrol/oil mix for trial bikes as i was watching a guy on youtube refuelling and he was mixing at seventy to one is this the norm ? thanks

I may have missed something, but i thought that outside assistance wasn't allowed at the Scott? Hence why do Dibs' and Shirty's reports both openly talk about changing wheels? Mr Jarvis was excluded a few years ago for an alleged bike swap. Whilst we're on the subject, my wife and my Mum walked the 1/2 mile or so along with our 3 kids (2 of whom pre-school) to see me at the final petrol check, where I am told there were multiple signs up stating "no vehicular access", so imagine their surprise to find a whole host of factory vans at said petrol check...presumably awaiting with fresh bikes/wheels to save the riders the bother of having to change front wheel punctures etc…

Could anyone tell me why the S/Boy Max is 250cc, and no higher, i mean i dont have any complaints about this i would just like to know WHY?? cheers

I would appreciate any info on the laws applying to going off-road with a motorcycle, particularly in Scotland. It used to be a simple matter of writing to the landowner and getting written permission to ride at your own risk, is this still the case? Cheers

Just a thought... is it possible to suggest NEW areas for the forum? Was thinking that it might be a good idea to have a section devided into Reigons of the UK (and potentially other countries). The idea behind which is that it might be helpful for event organising, meeting fellow riders online - and at events, and become a good resource for YOUR area? What do you think? Cheers - Matt.
